  1. Laing is garbage. Heneghan looks like a bit of a shitebag to me. Was OK earlier in the season but with the pressure on he's fallen to bits. Last week he was a complete and utter joke. If McManus is back before the end of the season I'd have him and McHugh at the back.
  2. Great goal by Cadden, needs to start hitting them like that more than once a season. McDonald's assist for Campbell's goal was absolutely brilliant. Samson's keep us in it 1st half and I actually think he's been one of our best performers since the winter break. I'm giving my award to Allan Campbell though. Made a tackle in the first half that you just know Craig Clay would never have made that prevented a one on one with the keeper. Second half was terrific and got a goal as well. Would be nice to see him lock down a place now. Great attitude. Others should take note.
  3. No....ha ha ha. The poor guy is obviously not rated by the 'Well support.
  4. Been a weird season. Considering our poor home record that was our third 4 goal win.
  5. BTW the dubious McDonald goal makes him our highest scorer in the Premier League era (ie 1975 - now) Scott McDonald - 66 John Sutton - 65 Steve Kirk - 63 Tommy Coyne - 59 Dougie Arnott - 59 Willie Pettigrew - 56
  6. Well we got there eventually. Given that Inverness were a complete shambles and still could have taken the three points with a 2 goal disadvantage I don't think we should be getting too carried away about how good we are but let's focus on the positive and that was Allan Campbell coming into midfield. Excellent performance and a goal was the least he deserved. Reminded me a lot of Scott Leitch. Should be a stick on for a spot in the team now. Still very, very tight at the bottom of the league and we are going to have to play better to take points off the others as Inverness are plainly the worst team in the league by a distance.
  7. Absolutely deserved. Switched off 10 minutes into a crucial relegation battle. Shocking tactics, shocking lack of professionalism.
  8. We are winning and I'm fuming! At 2-0 we should have destroyed Inverness. They were atrocious and all over the place. All we had to do was get the ball in the box and there was goals galore. A 5-0 at half time job. What do we do? Sit back, everyone behind the ball, let Inverness get there foot on the ball, build up their confidence again and guess what - they score. If we don't the three points here....ooft!!
  9. It will surely be Samson Heneghan McHugh Hammell Cadden Campbell Pearson Frear McDonald Moult Bowman
  10. Interesting to see Campbell coming in. Hopefully he can do a job like he did against Accies. Hope not but failure today and you have to wonder about our formation and set up.
  11. OF level paranoia/conspiracy nonsense. Was it a consideration - yes. Was it the "only reason" - no. Like I said before the current set up works pretty well. There haven't been many 'dead' seasons, even if it was only the slightly artificial Top 6 aim.
  12. Remember watching some old Motherwell highlights and Kaven was having a blinder. I think his short stay and association with Harri Kampman has altered a few memories.
  13. Lee Hollis Michael Fraser Gunner Nielsen George Long Dan Twardzik Connor Ripley Our goalkeepers since the departure of Randolph. I'd pick Samson over 4 of the 6 and the other 2 weren't without their mistakes either. In fact the best of them, probably Connor Ripley, conceded one of the worst goals I've ever seen against Celtic.
  14. Yes, I think the current set up works well in terms of keeping most teams involved throughout the season - either for Europe, a Top 6 place or relegation. However the price of it is the fixture imbalance. What's more important to you? Personally for me its the general set up but I understand why people don't like it and see it as being unfair. However I don't really see any way round it without making things worse overall. No one wants a 44 game season surely? And I just don't think we have enough professional clubs to go to the 16 team league which would be the ideal solution. Not so much at the top level but certain the level below that. In my opinion we need two levels of professional football to give medium sized professional teams a protective buffer but that would be hard with a 16 top tier. Being relegated would pretty much like going to League 2 in one big drop.
  15. I'd be more worried about St. Mirren as potential play off opponents than any of the teams in the positions at the moment. Got some excellent players (McGinn, Mallan, Morgan) and probably the best team in the Championship right now.
  16. Pearson was excellent at Ibrox. Doesn't look to be moving well though, I think he is playing through an injury.
  17. Dundee have scored one goal in open play in the last six games (they got another but it was a penalty). The goal difference isn't enormous (7 goals) all it would take would be a 2-0 win at our end and a 0-2 defeat at theirs and it becomes competitive again, with, say, 3 or 4 games to go. Inverness are a lot like Accies, they have drawn a huge number of games this season and that is why they are at the bottom. They have drawn 13 out of 32 matches and lost fewer than us so I think it is a mistake to assume we are better than them.
  18. We have a support who want a simple narrative and easy scapegoats - whether that be Craig Samson, Mark McGhee. Alan Burrows or whoever the next one is.
  19. The Curse of the Former Player looms large with Vigurs, Laing and Anier although I think Vigurs is injured at the moment. Also see Inverness' only away league of the season was at....you guessed it.....Fir Park with a 3-0 win. PS. If you want a more positive stat we've only lost once against a Bottom 6 team since Nov 5th. 3 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat.
