  1. Moult goes from 1 out of 10 to 10 out of 10 with one header! He had a stinker and then pulls it out the bag. Deserved point would not have deserved to lose than.
  2. When the incident happened I thought straight away 'red card' so right now I think Lucas has fucked us over rather than the ref. Before the red card we were well on top and had all the chances. Since then we've not created as much and Moult doesn't look interested playing up front on his own. Accies haven't really had a clear cut chance but I'm concerned about the area between the posts between 20 and 40 yards. We are not defending this area and when Accies look dangerous its through the middle rather than down the sides.
  3. Sounds like we were lucky......Inverness had most of the chances and hit the bar and the post. Still take it though.
  4. Dread words on Radio Scotland......."There's been a goal at Inverness......" Followed by the most incredible relief.
  5. Signing in the million pound bracket is a gamble never mind at our freebie/reject level. He's brought in Tait and Heneghan and basically made a first pick player out of Cadden. Some others have been injured and not able to contribute and others were only brought in to act as back-up. Moult and McDonald are always going to be the front two if available, for example, so opportunities will be limited for Blyth and Bowman and its unfair to judge them as anything other than back up. The same goes for Brill. We don't have enough quality in the squad but I don't think it's a point your finger and blame kind of deal. Inevitably at the level we are shopping at you aren't going to get a player ever time or even half the time. I don't think McGhee's record is any worse than Barracloughs or McCall's later years. We are at the dross level in finance terms and it should be more of a surprise if we get a good one than a bad one. It's just something people are going to have to accept, especially when the inevitable happens and we lose real quality players who are coming to the end of their time with us - Hammell, Lasley, McDonald. Facts are their replacements just won't be the level of quality that many fans have not just got used to but have actually quite complacent and entitled about. This season we are the 12th best supported club in the country and teams just below us have chairman who are still prepared to plough money in meaning actually in terms of financial clout we are lower down still. That's where we are right now and I think quite a few of us haven't quite grasped that yet.
  6. Inverness are 5 home matches without a win and only have one win in the last 12. We have a pretty good record against the bottom 6 teams this season, finger crossed we can get at least a draw if not a win from this one. Really need to turn 3 points up before the break and this is as good a place as any to make it happen.
  7. People need to get a grip. We are 3 points off the Top 6 with a game in hand. You'd think we were rock bottom. The whole 4 wins thing means diddly squat in a season where there have been so many draws. People also need to adjust their expectations in this new age of fan ownership. We had 2,700 fans at the match and I'm afraid that's where we are at the moment. As for the performance it was always going to be difficult against a better team in poor conditions. First goal was a terrible goal to lose when I thought the match was fairly evenly pitched. Samson seems to be getting the blame and he should have done better but he didn't give the ball away in his own half. I've not seen TV pictures but I was at the opposite end of the pitch and I could see it was never a penalty. Never a penalty so how Madden is giving it I'm not sure. But here's the thing....Aberdeen reacted first to both penalty rebounds and that's not good enough. Players need to be more switched on because that has cost us points tonight. Second half there was a collapse after Lasley went off. I'm afraid Clay and Lucas aren't good enough and Lasley is still our best available midfielder....even at 37. We desperately need to strengthen midfield in the transfer window....if we can afford to. This is our big weakness that has to be addressed. Someone said we have better players than other teams around us....well I'm afraid we don't in central midfield. Tansey/Draper is better than we've got. Gillespie/McKinnon is better than we've got. Osman/Edwards is better than we've got. If you concede midfield, you concede that match....it's that simple. Third goal, well I'm afraid Tait has had a nightmare all match. Hayes destroyed him and that can happen when you come up against one of the better players in the league. We are lacking at the moment. Lacking a little bit of luck, lacking a little bit of refereeing goodwill, lacking a bit of quality, lacking a bit of confidence but we aren't miles away. If anyone thinks we'd be doing better with another manager I'm afraid they are kidding themselves but if you want to go down the St. Mirren route maybe you need to look at what's happened to them. I never expected us to be a Top 6 team this season and I don't expect anything other than 7 teams slugging it out for the rest of the season with not much between any of them. That's the state of affairs, if you want to lose the head, fine but where does that get us?
  8. Yeah the wind is to 'drop' to a mere 20mph. I think we'll be seeing big Jadyn Stockley starting tonight for Aberdeen and some wind assisted hoofball.
  9. There is no way this game should be on, it's forecast to be 40mph winds for the next three days. If the game is postponed at the last minute with Aberdeen fans traveling some people need a kick in the pants. If the game does go ahead, there goes our pitch and the game will be a complete farce played in front of an empty stadium. I was looking forward to it because I fancied us for a win tonight but common sense needs to come into play here.
  10. There had to be a national media campaign to get Cadden noticed by the dipshits that run the U21s so I wouldn't hold your breath. Entire SFA set up is a complete joke full of absolute incompetents.
  11. I am happy to get wet and cold for three points. For zero points probably not so much. Come on 'Well give us a Christmas present!
  12. 'Project Brave' is as big a threat to the future of Motherwell FC as anything else at it stands and that's what we get from an organisation that's supposed to promote the game in Scotland. The whole notion of it is absolute arrant nonsense from start to finish, just what you'd expect from the SFA and the other decision makers in Scottish footballer. It should be thrown in the trash now and I think fans should be thinking about taking the same action against the SFA as they did during the Rangers farago. The whole 'elite academy' idea has been proven time and time again to be a complete fraud, a total waste of time and produces no more, and often far less, good young players than traditional methods. Yet the SFA wants to undermine the whole financial model every Scottish club should be aspiring to over some pie in the sky whimsy that these proposals are going to turn around Scottish football. Talk about self important delusion. Even if we were included in the elite 8 it would be utterly and comprehensively wrong. Bin it now. The people that run our game should be fired out the door forthwith and their dunces caps thrown right out after them!
  13. Catching Aberdeen at the right time. Their recent record is not one befitting of a team challenging to be the 2nd best in the country. P9 W3 D1 L5. On the road they've lost at Accies, Ross County and Rangers and I think we can definitely get a win against them if we put in a performance. The players that have separated them from the rest - McGinn, Hayes, Rooney, Shinnie - are all out of form if you ask me and haven't impressed recently. We should be looking to go into the winter break on 20+ points so getting to 20 after the Aberdeen match would potentially set us up nicely for a decent end to the first half of the season with Inverness and Accies to come.
  14. We've lost 2 points on Ross County but gained a point against Dundee, so swings and roundabouts. Probably going to be tight all season because one team might go on a good run but it seems unlikely 3 or 4 will.
  15. We'll take it. Most other teams drew as well.....as is the theme of the season.
  16. Seem to have started well first half but St. Johnstone equalizer sounded like it was coming and apparently home team now well on top.
  17. St. Johnstone missing some key men today - Steven Anderson, Liam Craig and Danny Swanson.
  18. As someone who had their subbuteo park ironed and on a bit of hardboard I'm saying the dicks where the lads with the floodlights and stadium round the pitch.
  19. St. Johnstone in recent times have been pretty strong at home. This season that record has slipped a bit. They have a very small squad and I think they could be dragged into 'The Pack' if they aren't careful. They are coming off what looks like a fairly comfortable 3-0 against Inverness but before that there were losses to Ross County, Partick and Kilmarnock at McDiarmid. I think this is our best chance to win up there in a while but our away record recently isn't exactly stellar either.
