Think Partick will win at Ross County. Think St. Johnstone will get a point at Kilmarnock. Best bet is Hamilton to get a draw with Dundee. That's my prediction.

Sat too deep in the first half but to be fair we were a minute away from going in at half time at 0-0. A lot of that was down to Ripley of course but not to take anything away from him most of the saves were routine ones with a couple of great ones sprinkled about. I can't really tell off sides down at the Cooper End because of the angle and distance I sit so I can't comment much on the disallowed goal but the BBC report calls it 'controversial'. Thought we competed quite well until the second goal for Celtic after which I felt it all went a bit flat and the energy went out of the team. Pretty annoying that Ripley has had such a good game today and then conceded a goal like the one he did that has cost us the game. So near and yet so far. Going to be a nervous afternoon now.

This made me laugh. It's Celtic. We might beat them, we might get a draw but they will probably beat us. Just cross your fingers that this is one of the times we get a result when we really need one. If you want a nice wee omen though I noticed that Celtic have dropped points against Aberdeen, Dundee, Hearts, Kilmarnock and otherselves in the first half of the season and in the second half of the season they have dropped points against Aberdeen, Dundee, Hearts and Kilmarnock.....could be a nice wee sequence there!

Could be tempting fate but Dundee have only won once away from home since last September - a 4-2 win a Partick Thistle. Meanwhile Hamilton haven't lost 3 games in a row in 2016 and have recent home draws against Celtic, Hearts and Dundee Utd. Ross County have lost 3 of their last 4 home matches 0-3 and have been in poor form generally since the turn of the year. Partick Thistle's away record is decent, on form you'd maybe put that one on your coupon for the Jags. Kilmarnock haven't won since February and only have two wins in 2016, scoring only 1 goal in the last 6 matches but they did beat St. Johnstone earlier in the season at Rugby Park. St. Johnstone had quite a poor away record until last time out when they beat Hearts 3-0 at Tynecastle - was it a one off or a change in form?

I hope we finish Top 6 and I hope we do it by beating Celtic, but it would be an unexpected bonus. This season was all about arresting a year and a half of substantial decline, keeping the club in the division and improving the standard of play. I want us to stay motivated, go into every match looking to win, keep professional standards up and so forth but in the long view it's Mission Achieved for 2015/16. I'll be disappointed of course if we are edged out on Saturday but there should be no major weeping and gnashing of teeth. I keep saying it but "please, a little perspective".

I think a lot of the pay at the gate types generally don't bother getting a ticket for these games. With something to play for in the match you might see more of a turn out.

Why limited ourselves to a point, why not cuff them? Celtic's away record ain't too smart. Dundee 0-0 Kilmarnock 1-0 Partick 2-1 Hamilton 1-1 Aberdeen 1-2 Dundee Utd 4-1 Hearts 2-2 Only team they beaten with style was Dundee Utd at their lowest ebb and they have dropped points against every Top 6 team on the run of fixtures. Get torn into them.

St. Johnstone are away to Kilmarnock.

Partick away to Ross County, Dundee away to Hamilton.

The top 6 thing is pretty easy to explain. If Partick, St. Johnstone or Dundee drop any points in their remaining games we are top 6. The one exception is if Dundee drew and Partick won in which case both could edge us out on goal difference if we lost to Celtic and they won their next match. If Dundee lose tonight we are Top 6. If Partick fail to win we are Top 6.

Partly, they put out Lech Poznan after us but still we were 2-0 up in that game early on and we should have gone through. I've said it before and I'll say it again we were very poorly prepared for that match and the start of the season in general and that has to fall on McCall. We then lost 10 out of our next 13 matches so it was no one off!
-
I think I said a couple of weeks ago that if we got into the Top 6 I didn't think there was any reason why we couldn't finish 4th. No one is in staggering form. We aren't there yet though, let's hope its confirmed midweek.
-
What weeyin says. At any rate Celtic's recent Hampden record would suggest it was a long shot!
-
Apparently Kilmarnock put in good performances against Aberdeen and Celtic but they have only got 1 goal in their last 6 games. If you can't score you are in big trouble. And let's hope Dundee Utd get something in midweek against St. Johnstone as that will guarantee our Top 6 place. Hamilton are away to Aberdeen and then have a home match against Dundee but they haven't won at home for 12 league matches. In fact Kilmarnock have only won 1 in the last 10 home league matches so that's two pretty terrible records. Dundee Utd seem to have the momentum but it will probably come down to the head to head matches in the last phase.

Simple facts are any success at Motherwel l will attract bigger clubs to look at our manager and if the offer comes in whoever the manager is will go, especially if they are a younger manager who's not made their money or had a pop at a higher level. That doesn't just apply to McGhee but virtually anyone in the hot seat.

I have Hammell on 463 as well but if I remember there is a disputed appearance somewhere along the line....so it might be 1 more or less.

Moult and McDonald is one of the best front twos in the league. Craig Moore has had a decent season at Ayr so you might see him given a chance next season, although I don't know off the top of my head when his contract is up. I can only really see us bring in a forward if Moult is sold. Jordan White at Livingston scored in the win against Falkirk yesterday. He is in double figures for the second season on the trot for a struggling Livie team. Apparently we were looking at him last year. Who know we might still have an eye on him.
-
I think that boat has sailed. Will be bigger clubs than us looking at him.

Luckily the copyright on porcelain mugs expired 1,500 years ago.

Doubt Gomis has a future at Hearts as they recently signed US international Perry Kitchen, a defensive midfielder.
-
You need to give players time to settle in. Gomis has had four starts and you could probably split them down the middle as good/bad. Was anyone impressed with Liam Grimshaw after 4 matches? I doubt it.
-
Right now we should take one step at a time and try and get Top six football. However if we get there I don't see finishing fourth as any less likely that any other team below Hearts. Think we will need at least 3 points though so we just make sure we don't get ahead of ourselves.

Even when we went through our bad spell it was clear to me we were much better organised, playing much better, had more goal threat and everything else you'd be looking for. Hopefully the last month or so will have persuaded some supporters to be a bit less knee jerk in their opinions, judge things on their true merits, ditch all these ridiculous personality issues, re-think their expectations and maybe just support the team a bit better. Wasn't the whole experience of the match yesterday, even at 0-1 down, so much better than it was against Inverness when we were 1-1 and well in the game? The last two matches the atmosphere has been good and even when the team went behind I think the positive attitude from the stands has helped to turn the matches round and get victories out of them. Fans play a big part in these things and I'd like to see us keep that going.
-
Right now, I'd give it to McDonald.....

Baraclough brought in something like 18 players so he'd better get at least 3 that were good. McGhee has brought Hall and Cadden through and he didn't even need to sign them.
