  1. Don't know much about Chalmers except he'd made a handful of appearances in the Celtic team. Don't think he managed a first team appearance this season though. Marcus Fraser has done well leaving Celtic to go to Ross County and I've always liked the look of Jackson Irvine so if Chalmers can make the same kind of impact for us as those players that can only be a good thing.
  2. This season was quite incredible when you look at it. Most of the top 6 clubs really struggled in the second half of the season. Dundee Utd, Dundee, Hamilton. Kilmarnock who started well went into free fall and even Inverness had a poor spell only winning once between February and May. The way the league finished there were actually two teams in the bottom six with more points than the bottom team in the top six.
  3. David Ferguson wasn't getting a game at Alloa so I doubt he's ready to step up for us.
  4. I mind someone came on here and said that Baraclough had fallen out with Vigurs due to him being late for training and he'd never play for Motherwell again. Well, Vigurs never played for Motherwell again so maybe there was something in that one...
  5. All the incidents that happened in the match made it a better and more exciting spectacle. Fact. The problem with football is so many people are determined to make it as bland as possible and then wonder why the public isn't interested in it any more. At the end of the day no one got really hurt and they were never likely to, provided the two supports were kept separated. As for Lee McCulloch and Lee Erwin, players get much worse injuries, probably every week someone gets stretcher off. Stephen McManus did a lot more damage to Alan Gow a few weeks back than anything that happened at Fir Park at the weekend.
  6. I liked Vigurs as well and I'm a bit disappointed he's on the way. However I disagree with you that he would never fit into Baraclough's system. For me, he fits into Baraclough's system more than he did McCall's.
  7. Or maybe they were just annoyed at being ignored. Ever manager has favourites and players they sideline. It's part of the game but if it was you or me we'd probably be annoyed if we felt we didn't get a fair crack. For me Carswell blew it getting sent off within minutes against Partick. But for me the problem with players like Carswell is they are all hard work and no ability.
  8. We all know Ainsworth is hugely frustrating but if anyone knows a wide mid right player who is affordable with that pace and ability to strike the ball, and who will score 10+ goals every season without even starting half the matches, then you are welcome to pitch in with suggestions! I'd be eager to keep him even although I know he is going to be useless about 50% of the time. The game is all about goals and wee Lionel has them in his boots.
  9. Vile sub human scum. Having said that if you ever need directions to Alloa, you know who to ask.
  10. The police just aren't interested in doing anything other than collecting their extortionate tax payer provided OT. Don't have much time for the polis anyway as on the four or five times I've dealt with them I've been treated like a criminal rather than a victim or a reporter of crime but the away match at Accies just a few weeks ago confirmed they are mostly just clowns, unable to stop any actual trouble, while acting the hard man and trying to intimidate ordinary supporters.....or just looking gleekit and pocketing the dough. Since they are a complete waste of time they shouldn't get a penny of the clubs money and if there are public order issues, isn't that what they get paid for in the first place?
  11. That sort of behaviour is not on in my opinion but to be fair to Erwin he was one of the first to run over to congratulate Sutton. Also, wee Lionel should get a medal instead of a ban for taking on a giant ghoul like Mohsni!
  12. No coincidence that the absolute cuffings stopped when Laing came in. Thought he did very well under pressure at Ibrox and yesterday and seems to have a decent understanding with McManus. Could do worse than to bring him in permanently. Still young with the potential to develop.
  13. Listening to the Sportsound podcast now. Poor wee Chick sounds absolutely suicidal. EDIT. And Stuart McCall sounds absolutely deluded.
  14. Is Keith Lasley going to come in and overshadow him by doing a much better speech?
  15. Ongoing basis? Getting them in a cup is a 41/1 chance.
  16. Great team performance. Superb down the spine of the side, Lang and McManus and Lasley and Pearson were great. I've given McManus a fair bit of stick this season but I wouldn't have said a word against him if he played like that every week. Johnson has also been great, not just today, but over the two legs and Hammell has been brilliant since he came back. Went for Pearson in the end but it could have been 5 or 6 players.
  17. We have improved considerably since about February. To be fair to him he's got us out a pretty terrible run and got us playing decent football (at home anyway) and then won a high pressure play off. I remain to be convinced long term but Baraclough deserves the chance to build on the recent momentum and I'm sure every supporter wants him to do well because he's the manager of our team.
  18. More than worth it. The roar when the first goal went in will live with me forever.
  19. Something hilarious about this phrasing from Rangers Media. "My brother who stayed til the end has just text me"
  20. Sang and jumped around the whole match. Went mental at the goals. But at the end there when everyone was leaving and it had quietened down I actually felt a little bit emotional. This club is a huge part of my life and I absolutely love it.
  21. Rangers will go route one today. Gonna need Laing and McManus are going to need to win a lot of headers and Long to be strong and dominate his box. On the other hand, we can destroy them down the sides and they are missing their player of the year in defence, a defence that already looked pretty shaky. Looking to win both legs but I'll take a 0-0 bore draw! COME ON YE WELL!!!!!
  22. Put all negative thoughts to the back of your head and raise the roof off the place tomorrow. Would have fancied us to win if we'd come back from Ibrox with a 0-1 deficit, we are 3-1 up, that's three goals better off. We need to stay focused and professional and not get complacent but we've already proved we are better than this Rangers team on their own patch and we should have absolutely nothing to fear, the way we tore them apart every time we went forward in the first leg means it should be Rangers that go into this match with jitters, not us. Players and fans alike have to get out there tomorrow absolutely brimming with confidence and finish this off.
  23. Rangers record this season with Thomson in charge is Played 4 Won 1 Lost 3. Hearts (H) 1-2 Hearts (A) 0-2 Dumbarton (H) 3-1 Celtic (N) 0-2 He also sent off Stevie Smith and awarded a penalty to Hearts in the 88th minute.
  24. Hibs L 0-1 QoS W 2-1 Hearts D 2-2 Dumbarton W 3-1 Livingston D 1-1 Rangers last five away. Not kept a clean sheet, so there are goals there for us again, just like I said before the 1st leg. The first goal is going to be very important because it either pulls Rangers back into the tie or probably wins it for us. Personally the way I would approach this is to just forget about the match last night and treat it as a one off match. It's a final and if we win, we stay up. I wouldn't be too concerned about thinking about the 3-1 aggregate.
