Poor result let's hope it doesn't get any worse! Anyway, I'm sure Brown will have it sorted out for next week.

Clarky, come back any time you like son!

Top Six in any season is a big achievement. This is off the top of my head but I think in my time as a supporter Tommy McLean only managed it twice, McLeish once, Butcher twice, McGhee once and now this season. So that's only seven times in 25+ years unless I'm forgetting one.

I don't really get this. For a start there was no trophy at stake and secondly at least in that Celtic match we turned up and gave them a game. I was gutted at the Celtic match but at least you could walk away with your head held high - not something you could do at the League Cup Final.

Yep, I have our highest league position as 4th but I only update after all the games per round have been played. We've spent 5 weeks this season in 4th position. It's one of those odd things that our lowest league position this season was into Brown's excellent run. After 2 wins and a draw we dropped to 7th for a week, the only time we've been out of the Top Six this season.

Since 2003/04 (when I started keeping these things) 3 - David Clarkson, Paul Quinn. 1- Stephen Pearson, Gordon Marshall, Stephen Craigan, Abel Thermeus, Jim Paterson, Scott McDonald, Marc Fitzpatrick, Mark Reynolds, Bob Malcolm, Chris Porter, Giles Coke.

You are making him sound like Ross Tokely....

Surely in this day and age it would be fairly cheap to produce a DVD and you could sell it at a decent margin. I'd love to have a end of season DVD with all the goals, highlights of the best matches etc. As for demand - surely there would be more demand for a DVD than some of the items you can buy in the shop like a decanter with the club badge on it! It doesn't have to be tremendously professional - just get good picture quality footage of the seasons highlights on a DVD. Bang! There's a tenner.

Come on! We were back in it for a wee while when Partridge scored. To be honest seems a lot longer than five years ago. One of the very few Motherwell matches where I left before the final whistle. I was absolutely raging! Main memory is waiting on the train having changed at Newton with the hundreds of other 'Well fans and not one person saying a word. Argh!

I don't actually think this is a very good idea. This is the first season in ages that I've not had a season ticket but almost everyone in my boat will know someone that does have a season ticket so I'll probably be taking advantage of his and getting in for free when I'd usually be paying at the game. Also 'Season Ticket holders you paid full whack and your pal doesnae'. As we've already seen this is likely to upset some people and to be fair putting aside all the arguments about the reasons people buy season tickets that is a little unfair. Would have been better to either reduce prices to a level that would actual attract a bigger crowd (say £10 or even £5) or give out free tickets at schools. Also one of the major reasons attendances are down in the SPL is that its so expensive most cannot afford to travel to away games. Are we doing anything to encourage away supporters to come to the ground? In my opinion its much easier to introduce initiatives to attract 500 or 1,000 away supporters to come to your ground than it is to attract neutrals. Not only does it improve the atmosphere in the ground (please don't put them in the top tier unless the bottom tier is full!" it also brings in additional revenue to the club.

I'm not sure where I got that previous figure. I actually have 292 but I think I've had that argument with people before!
-
Yeah those are total appearances not league appearances I think.
-
I have a post-war list somewhere but I'll need to find it and it will be a little out of date. EDIT. OK, a little out of date but gives you a general idea. League appearances - it's not my list so I can't vouch for the veracity of it! I found it on the internet somewhere. Obviously Stevie Hammell would be much higher up the list and Craigan has 200+ appearances. I think I'm right in saying David Clarkson would also make the 200+ list. EDIT - Started updating it. Corrigan, Craigan, Hammell, Clarkson. Anyone else likely to have gone over the 200 league appearances mark? Joe Wark - 469 Willie Kilmarnock - 452 John Johnston - 323 Charlie Aitken - 313 Archie Shaw - 313 John Philliben - 302 Andy Paton - 301 Stevie Kirk - 301 John Martis - 297 (Stevie Hammell - 291) John Gahagan - 284 Willie McCallum - 277 Chris McCart - 260 Tom Boyd - 256 Dougie Arnott - 240 (I have Arnott on a final total of 253 league appearances) (Stephen Craigan - 251 by my count) Bert McCann - 246 Ian McLeod - 243 Martyn Corrigan - 208 (I have Corrigan on a final total of 242 league appearances) Brian Martin - 237 Willie Hunter - 229 Willie Redpath - 226 (David Clarkson - 220 by my count) Jim Forrest - 215 Andy Weir - 202

We were 7th for one week, ironically after the start of Brown's good run with 2 wins and a draw. However by that stage most of the teams had caught up with us to to the poor run of Gannon's latter days. The stat that matters is that Brown has won 8 out of 12, Gannon won 4 out of 17.
-
It has to be worrying that we have a lower average attendance this season than Falkirk or Kilmarnock considering the contrasting performances this season. If you exclude matches against Rangers, Celtic and Hibernian we've only had one 5,000+ attendance all season and that was the first home match of the season.
-
Our home support should be bigger than it is, especially during a 12 match unbeaten run but Hearts are supposedly the third biggest team in Scotland, have something like 15,000 season ticket holders and the brought maybe 400 fans today. Hearts away form really is abysmal though so maybe you can't really blame Hearts supporters for not traveling!
-
Tough decision today - lots of good performances. Though Mark Reynolds had an excellent game, Lasley and Jennings were excellent in the middle of the park, Murphy was superb especially in the first half, O'Brien looked lively, Hammell was solid. Would give it to John Sutton though. Terrific in attack and defence.
-
You almost felt sorry for the boy Thomson. Murphy absolutely roasted him in the first half.
-
Hearts didn't bring a big support only about 400 or so. More than deserved the win even although we played in 2nd gear for most of the match.
-
On form we should be beating Hearts at home but then we have ridden our luck a bit in the last couple of matches. 2-0 Motherwell.

Big sigh of relief, the unbeaten run continues, no goal conceded again and now let's beat Hearts.
-
Doubt it since St. Johnstone have about 4 games in hand.
