I hope we win. I think we'll win. It wouldn't surprise one bit if we lose.

In the last five seasons previous to this one.... Tony Watt 122 matches 16 goals (1 every 8 games) Chris Long 126 matches 23 goals (1 every 5 games) Jordan White 199 matches 49 goals (1 every 4 games, although at Scottish Championship or English National League level) Jordan White scored 10 in a season for Livingston in the Championship five years ago and that's the only time any of them got into double figures for league goals. I don't think anyone should be surprised we haven't got a goal out a striker, they don't have a track record. I also thought the circumstances around the signing of Watt and Long were odd, given the circumstances, ie, Watt having flopped at Hearts and St Johnstone in quick succession, and the whole Long summer saga as well as underwhelming performances last season and the fact that it's obvious he's not the type of player for our system.

Oliver Burke was hung at Leith docks for stealing cadavers from Edinburgh graveyards. Lyndon Dykes was the first person to cross the Sahara in a T Model Ford in 1913. Lawrence Shankland runs a successful Edinburgh based solicitors firm. Oli McBurnie is a cheeky schoolboy pantomime character that is shoe horned into every Christmas production at the Kings theatre and is played by Gary Hollywood.

Celtic's core is getting older. Forrest, Brown, McGregor etc and as good as foreign players like Edouard are they are never going to stick around for long. They are simply doing the sensible thing and snapping up the best young Scottish talent of his generation. Will be interesting to see if Turnbull lines up on Thursday but I think we should be bracing ourselves for LWT. Life without Turnbull.

First of all the whole idea that because a player didn't make it at a certain level at a certain time in his career means he couldn't make it at a different level at a different time in his career is completely invalid. It makes no sense whatsoever, has been proved wrong literally a myriad of times and yet is trotted out time and time again. Secondly it used to be that players were developed in the first team and grew as players over a period of time. These days youth players only really get a chance if they prove themselves immediately as substantially better than first teamers. You don't see players being brought through like a Jamie Murphy or Paul Quinn or an even an Ally Maxwell or Dougie Arnott where perhaps they didn't have a huge influence on the team immediately but were given 2 or 3 seasons exposure to eventually become the players they were. Youth players are judged immediately and don't really get developed any longer at first team level.

There is some truth to what you are saying but Maguire is basically wasting his career at Motherwell through lack of opportunity, Scott and Turnbull should have been playing far earlier than they did and Hastie kicked around for something like three years between his debut and getting another minute on the park. As for Semple, it's over a year since he last made an appearance. And Livingstone, Devine, Cornelius and McLean? You could add up their minutes on a very small postage stamp. Given that virtually everything in the Robinson era that was any good came from our youth development system and that it's clear that we can produce much better quality players, for the most part, than we can bring in to the club then the youth system should be absolutely central to our mission as a club. Yet despite the emergence of guys like Turnbull, Scott etc, I don't think it is. And not all youth players have to be as good as Turnbull and Scott. They just need to be at as good, if not a little better, than the dross we import into the club from English lower and non league level.

Even if we are the point is we are not miles behind the other teams. We've been one goal from a point or points in every match. I think bringing one or two of the right type of players into this team could see a big upswing. Am I happy with the squad we've come into the season with? No. Am I fine with Robinson's failure to see there are no goals in our forward line? No again. If we can't afford to bring in a striker now and Robinson loses his job because of it he'll have no one to blame but himself. However I don't think we are at the stage when a wholesale rebuild is required - manager included. In 5 or 6 weeks there may or may not be further evidence for one case or the other but right now it's far too early in the season. I don't especially rate Robinson but I do think he's done enough to get a little bit, not a lot, of leeway. When we get to October you look at it, barring complete disaster. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Aberdeen have been horrifically bad in both matches. St. Johnstone were even worse against Aberdeen and only won at Rugby Park after the home side imploded in comical fashion. The standard of the league is utter garbage. Even in our current form we shouldn't be looking at any of the other teams, Celtic and Rangers apart, and thinking "oh, we can't beat these guys".
-
Fucking rank v fucking rank is a chance of points.
-
Did you watch St Johnstone v Aberdeen the other day? Both are fucking rank.
-
Cole also. Even though he didn't score as many goals as Long last season he was still the better option to play in that position. He was strong, held the ball up, was decent in the air and could bring others into the game. Then we had Scott who could run with the ball, had some real skill, energy and was always looking to carry the ball forward and try the unexpected. We are lacking both those types right now.
-
Turnbull was the best player on the park by a mile but you need two to tango and right now his dance partners are away to the lavvy.
-
Rangers had 78% possession last week. Celtic had 70% against Kilmarnock. Meanwhile Hibs have 3 wins and a draw from four matches and have never had the majority of the ball in any of the matches.
-
I'm more worried about the Glentoran match. If we don't win that then I think you'd see heads go down and that can be difficult or impossible to recover from.
-
I agree he has fucked the transfer window, not for the first time by the way. However the transfer window isn't over so it's down to Robinson to admit his mistakes and bring someone in. If he doesn't do that then I think his job will very much be in jeopardy in the near future but I think he at least deserves a chance to amend his mistakes.

We are nowhere near a relegation battle in August and are not detached. We are one win away from Top 6. The run of poor form is concerning, especially as Robinson had a close season to fix it, but there is still plenty time for the manager to change it and turn it around. If he doesn't do that then you have to look at it but we aren't at that stage yet. To be fair to Robinson we've been in worse positions before and we've got out of it so right now we just need to be a bit more patient and see what transpires. 5 or 6 matches down the line with a full round of matches played is when you start assessing it and like I said bringing in a player rather than a manager, for me, would have more effect. Do you think a new manager gets goals out of Long, Watt, White? If so, he'd be changing the habits of a life time.
-
Teams let us have the ball and let us come on to them because they know we won't do shit and are always good for a mistake at the back. Don't mistake our possession and shot stats for Celtic style domination.
-
I've been very critical of Robinson at times but you don't fire a manager after 5 league matches. Next game is huge though. If we have a humiliating European elimination at home to Glentoran, which is quite possible I think, then get pumped by Celtic then the heat starts to turn up. However, we need players brought in rather than a change of management although sometimes I think Robinson can be a bit thick when it comes to spotting obvious deficiencies. Going into the season with the strikers and forwards we have was never going to cut it and why he thought it would is honestly a bit baffling.
-
Answer is easy. Sign a striker, or strikers if you want to be really ambitious, that can actually score a goal.
-
Already ticked off agents, the referee, players... I'm going for seagulls this week. Young seagulls. A team of young, young, inexperienced seagulls.
-
Well that's been on the cards for the last 10 minutes or so.
-
A non football playing alien replicant.

It's a shame Turnbull can't get on the end of his own crosses.
-
Dunno about you but I'm on the brink of a siesta.

Before the match today 17% of our shots have been on target. League average is between 30 - 40%. Obviously we are by miles the worst.
