You booked that yet Cloudy? How many days is that away?
-
The only thing I wonder is that if we offered O'Brien and Coke new deals and neither are here anymore, where has that money gone? In all honesty, If we were able to sign a left midfielder and a striker I'd be delighted with that, can't really expect too much in the current climate, I'd definitely say we have more than ample cover in defence and centre midfield.
-
I believe he came ot the club as a left-midfielder.
-
Scott Severin is a good player who I'd imagine would be a success at Motherwell. However, we are well covered at centre half and centre midfield just now, so I'd rather we focused on a winger and a forward!
-
I'm provisionally interested Cloudy! As Dee says is this £130 all in?
-
Although I am proud of how we played and came back today, I don't think we deserved to get back in through that penalty, the same way Rangers never deserved a point at Fir Park, you could say that evens things out, but I'm still disappointed in Murphy's dive. Thought Jennings was superb and you can see how we missed him midweek, and he showed tremendous determination at his goal.
-
I'd agree with most of the above. Replacing O'Brien is a must, the way he created our first goal today was superb, although Humphrey maybe a pacier player, O'Brien uses what pace he does have better. Hateley has played horribly the past two games, but has otherwise been superb so I'd love to keep him. Out of all the players we can realistically keep, Jennings is the one I'd like most. I also think he should be given vice-captaincy should Reynolds leave. As for Coke his form his very erratic, I wouldn't be heartbroken if he left, but if he could consistently play to the top of his game he would definitely be great to have around. As for centre-half, I think if fit Hutchinson can play a major role next season!
-
All great initiatives by the club. Only downside for me is I have a holiday to Ibiza to fund and have just passed my driving test so I am unlikely to be able to take advantage of the 5% discount!
-
As much as I feel sorry for the lad, don't think he's going to cut it at Motherwell. I think if he was going to make an impact on the first team he'd have done so by now. Hope he forges a good career for himself with the likes of a first division club. Anyway, I'm sure it was reported on here he wasn't a 'well fan but actually a bluenose.
-
Going to go for Forbes. Hutchinson's goal against Killie was some strike too right enough!
-
I'd agree with you there mate. Humphrey is a pacy player but his end product isn't always there! For him being the 'impact' player we want brought on, I don't think he's ever looked good as a sub unless we're already winning. On another note, I thought Sutton was tremendous yesterday, those on here will know I've been highly critical of him in the past, but since Paw Broon's came in he's been magnificent with either the Duke or Murphy, not only in his goal return, but as a target man and even helping the team out at set pieces. Happily eating humble pie where that's concerned.

Definitely Ruddy. The only team we've beaten with Fraser in goals was Llaneli (albeit after a very bad first leg). The team looks far more assured as a unit with Ruddy in, and the defence seem unnerved with Fraser in. Jutkiewicz has been fantastic and I would obviously be over the moon to keep him but Sutton and Murphy seem to be developing a good partnership when they play together.

I think cards on the table, you have to say Michael Fraser cost us that game yesterday. The first incident wasn't too dissimilar to Ruddy's gaffe at Tannadice so I didn't get too irate by that. The second goal was a ridiculous error to give away the corner, and by that I also saw how his defence have little to no confidence in him, by Reynolds, normally mild-mannered, taking his foot off the advertising board in rage! I don't know how many bounce games the team play through the week or anything, but Michael Fraser looks to be a prime example of someone suffering from the demise of the reserves. I think on yesterday's evidence I don't think anyone, not even the Michael Fraser fan club, can justify Ruddy not playing when he returns fit. Having said that, I didn't show my frustration at the game yesterday, didn't think it would have helped. Haven't booed a well player since I was about eleven and naive. At one point during the first half yesterday almost the entire Cooper Stand gave a sarcastic cheer when he dealt with one back pass fine, which I find astounding. In what way at all would that make him come out and perform better in the second half? Surely we want to improve, or do these ignorant people have ulterior motives?

I can see Jennings and Hateley signing but I'm not so sure about O'Brien. Hateley has had a fantastic season, as has Jennings, but definitely with Hateley we plucked him from obscurity so I can see him staying another season to let his stock rise. As much as I rate Jim O'Brien, I reckon if a big club came calling he'd be off in a shot, I definitely hope not, he is as creative as our players get and I think another season or two where he is would greatly benefit him! As with Coke, he is definitely a useful member of the squad but his form has been very erratic since about October.
-
Aye fair enough. Lets just give him a free transfer then.
-
If Shaun Hutchinson can shake off the Jonathan Woodgate syndrome I'd be more than happy to see him alongside Craigan next season if it meant we got a good fee for Reynolds.
-
By my reckoning for next season we have the following signed: Hammell Reynolds Humphrey Sutton Fitzpatrick Forbes Hutchinson McHugh Saunders Can't remember whether Fraser was a one or two year deal?
-
It is rather embarassing, if not shameful I think. On the train to Accies away I heard a "Fuck The Pope" chant. If I wanted to hear that it would be Rangers games I'd go to!
-
I don't doubt for a second that Fraser could be an adequate SPL keeper, he is yet unproven in my eyes. However, I think that Ruddy is far more than adequate for SPL level, and him standing out has proved vital to us in many games this season, and I think not playing him between now and the end of the season would be plain stupid, as Europe is far from confirmed. If Ruddy is fit he'll play, simple as.
-
Yeah, I think the midfield lacked any penetration today, O'Brien aside. I feel for the midfield to comprise of Lasley and Jennings in the middle, you need to attacking wide players who will run at the opposition, but we lack that in our squad and I don't know whether Humphrey is up to holding down a regular place. When he starts he seems to burst in and out of games, and when he comes on as a sub, in my experience he only really seems effective if we're already winning!
-
It's a rarity that taking a ginger out a photo improves it!
-
One thing I will say though is, I would bin McGlinchey for the rest of the season, don't think he can offer us anything Bob McHugh can't, so don't see any reason for persevering with him when he can't make a slant on the starting eleven and he obviously won't be here next year.
-
I was wary when he came into the team that he was doing too much too soon. Although it was fantastic at the time, scoring three or four screamers in your first handful of games was always going to be maintained. I think as Sieb said the position he played suited him, but we should be playing a system that suits Motherwell, not Ross Forbes. Similarly to Steve McGarry, he was fairly comfortable in midfield or forward in a 4-3-3, but he didn't look particularly adept anywhere in a 4-4-2.
-
I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. One bad result doesn't mean you are a bad team. What about Rangers, should they not be looking at the title after being gubbed by St. Johnstone. Thought by all accounts that was poor today, but we can't expect everything every week. We just lacked the same hunger and fight we've seen. I think we could do with a bit of freshening up, I think we could do with two wide players in the wide positions, and I think Murphy is about due a rest. But today would have been a drab 0-0 affair if our marking was slightly better.
