  1. Southend fans apparently weren't fussed about him leaving but acknowledged he was good 'on his day'. Sounds like a left sided Ainsworth, minus the goals. Doubt he was close to the top of Huddersfield's scouting database but hopefully he'll prove to be a decent short term measure. Thomas is left sided but can play anywhere.
  2. Laing sounds like a prospect that has been on the radar of big clubs since a young age. And his recent loan spell at Notts County appears to have went very well. A centre half with the right character who is comfortable with the ball fits with the Baraclough prototype but surely if this materialises, there must be 1 or 2 defenders on the way out. Albeit he is reported to be versatile...
  3. Wonder if the game will be off in order to let the new signings settle in.
  4. We must have something lined up if we're letting him go before Saturday. Wish Ojamaa all the best, he was too good for the dross that surrounded him for much of the season. Shame he's leaving just as Erwin and Moore find their feet.
  5. That tends to be the case but on this occasion the club haven't been shy in building up our hopes with regards player movement.
  6. St Johnstone were playing their 3rd game in 6 days and ripped the pish out of us in the 2nd half, prompting McCall to chuck it. Reports from Tannadice are very encouraging but it must be backed up by further progress this week.
  7. Baraclough might have been playing it coy but it seemed the Dayton move was being engineered by his agent rather than Motherwell. Hopefully the promised busy week kicks off today.
  8. Paul Dixon supposedly available. Imagine he'd be well outwith our reach sadly.
  9. Ojamaa's wee brother rumoured to be on trial at Hibs.
  10. Pleased to see that Moore involved in the last 2 games. Wonder if there is a possibility of him and Erwin lining up either side of Sutton. Two really good prospects that are ready to standout in this league.
  11. Sounds like we've been competitive and carried a threat through Pearson. Progress.
  12. That's what I think it'll be. Ridiculous amount of dross but options obviously limited. Meanwhile, the United lineup looks decent despite resting 7 usual starters.
  13. Shame the offer has fell at a time when demand is so low, which possibly jeopardises similar initiatives in the future.
  14. Said it for some time but an athletic fullback is a priority. Ben Gordon caught the eye at Killie and I was surprised to see him end up at Ross County. Watt looks a decent prospect but ideally would he not be pushing for a right back spot? Too much of a jump to expect him to play well regularly given the severity of our predicament.

Yeah of course, however I wouldn't hang on to our current points tally as a reason to why we will finish above both St Mirren and Ross County. At present, Teale's St Mirren is a better outfit than Motherwell. It also can't be discounted that we have picked up 10 out of our 17 points from the 2 below us and that particular tally flatters us when you consider the corresponding performances. Meanwhile, I don't think there is 1 game this season where you could say we were hard done by.
  16. I don't think United carry quite the same threat as last season but if they are up for it, they could easily put 4 or 5 by us.

Ainsworth went missing numerous times last season. It was acknowledged by McCall early in the season that this was part of his makeup. I thought Watt looked relatively decent.

Don't understand why some put so much focus on accumulated points to date. So far this season, St Mirren have displayed a significantly superior standard of football which has been partly undermined by some ridiculous Tommy Craig signings. They now have a bit of momentum under a novice manager and look capable of picking up a few results. We meanwhile are a team devoid of shape and spirit, a team that has not improved one bit since the Iceland sham, a team that has had less than 50% possession in just about every game and has the 2nd worst goal difference in Britain. We don't look capable of outplaying anyone at present and we will finish 11th at best if the players don't react to Baracloughs methods very soon. No greeting if we go down though; the club has sleepwalked into this predicament. If we then need to cut our cloth accordingly and become a Falkirk/Dunfermline then so be it - it's pretty much nailed on under the financial constraints of fan ownership anyway.
  19. We were woeful in Aberdeen. A must win game and we didn't threaten until the last 5 minutes. If it hadn't been for an outstanding performance from Hutchinson, we'd have lost by 2 or 3. The players were also playing for an 'extra few quid' that day.
  20. Think the question has to be asked regarding Ainsworth tonight. Deplorable attitude.
  21. If we were to extend our losing streak to 7, there'd be no option but to sack the manager and bring in a Craig Brown type. I'm sure our prospective owner could stretch to a pay-off given his role in recruitment.
  22. I doubt there's been a season where we've had lower possession stats. Brutal watching a team that isn't the slightest bit comfortable with the ball. Tonight won't be a defining one and I appreciate the constraints but I'm already inclined to think Baraclough is out his depth, by some distance.
  23. How much space did Stokes have there? Atrocious.
  24. Centre midfield of Ramsden and Carswell... Who's the captain tonight?
