The way Baraclough is talking, there is money to spend and 1 or 2 could have arrived last week. Obviously we want a few out but we appear willing to progress signings before anyone leaves. Slight concern for me is the relevance of Baraclough's 'database' to our budget.

Think Scott Boyd is a bit of a hero up there but so were Lawson and Vigurs. Will be surprised if we are in for a centre half after extending O'Brien's deal.

Nielsen had a good game in the 3-3 with Celtic and then was dropped for 3 crunch games. Dropped for a keeper we had no intention of offering a new contract to. He clearly wasn't trusted by the previous regime (or maybe McManus chose the team?). As it happens, I think Twardzik has the potential to develop into a keeper that will play at a higher level. 22/23 is young for a keeper. For what he lacks physically, I think he has a wee bit of steel about him and plenty of natural abity. Unfortunately he has a defence in front of him that will undermine any potential to develop at present.

If Anier is available for free I imagine we would have been aware of the situation. Can look forward to him given McManus the runaround in a couple of weeks.

Mark Wilson was a very good player but he's look finished since returning to Dundee Utd. The only reason for signing him would be to give McManus a pal.

With Parkhead and Tannadice to follow it's imperative we pick up something here. Imagine we'll revert to a midfield 3 with Carswell or Reid on Eremenko. With Ojamaa out, scope for Erwin and Thomas both supporting Sutton.

We weren't hard to beat against some of the better teams last season to be fair. We were however unbelievably consistent against the bottom six. I suspect the generous bonus structure played a part in such consistency. I wonder if it's still in place?

We were pish last year and rode our luck, epitomised by our performance at Pittodrie in May. We then lost 3 of our best players.

Worst premier league in my lifetime and we've conceded 16 goals in 4 games to the 2 teams promoted. And in the 3 I've seen, the score line flattered us.

Spot on. Dempster being replaced by Burrows was just about the final straw in my book.
