  1. Fuck me. Loads of big draws so we 'll prob miss out on TV cash. Top 14 teams have drawn each other.
  2. Pressley is still at Coventry, albeit his days may be numbered. Davie Weir will probably apply but not my cup of tea. Coyle and McKinley would be high up my list of preferences but doubt either could be enticed. Iain Murray will possibly develop in a similar manner to Hartley and McNamara but not convinced we are the right club for him. No idea really although I'd be happy with a sober George Burley. In terms of left field, is Simo still managing in Finland? IIRC, Moyes brother was involved in our consideration for Stubbs last time and may be consulted again as he's done various bits and bobs for the club since.
  3. To be fair, nothing will ever be worse than being pumped off 3rd division Rangers. Can't see him being in the running for that gig anyway. Interesting report that he was ready to leave after the Dundee game. If true it puts the notion to bed that he could have turned it around. Nevertheless, his honesty and integrity fitted well with the club and we will struggle to replace him with someone that connects so well with the majority of the support. A good performance against Dundee Utd would be a huge slap in the face for McCall and the support.
  4. If change is as imminent as the Well Society panic suggests, then we can't possibly appoint a permanent manager at present.
  5. McCall certainly hasn't left due to a few folk calling for change online.
  6. He had a brutal 2nd season after knocking back Hearts. He would also have to operate on a much smaller budget compared to the money we splashed about back then. I really hope there is nothing in the Leitch chat, that would be a brutal move. I expect the media to link us with numerous candidates including Coyle, McAllister, McKinley, Craigan, Murray and Weir. Messy times ahead given the apparent upheaval in the background, which may or may not have been a contributing factor to McCalls decision.
  7. Aye, couldn't handle that. All the best to McCall, far exceeded expectations and was a really good fit for the club. Parting of the ways will hopefully benefit Motherwell and Stuart on the coming months.
  8. Sevco away. Cash in hand preferable.
  9. This is an example of good man management by Hartley. After Clarkson had trained with Motherwell, Hibs, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone, Hartley brought him to Dens and put him on an individual training regime to get him in shape. Wee bit of faith from a former team mate. He's also got McPake playing regularly again after he looked crippled at Hibs.
  10. Looks like a cruciate but can't confirm diagnosis until swelling goes down. Under 20s are playing Celtic in Scottish Cup today. 2pm Cappielow.
  11. I'd never support another team. Scotland would have my full attention.
  12. It's the manager recruiting and selecting the players.
  13. The game signals a year since they gave us an absolute pumping at Fir Park. Without Robertson and an in-form Gauld they aren't at the same level as last season but still one of the best teams in the league. United will play Ciftci upfront himself so hopefully we go with a 4231/433 and pin the likes of Reid/Carswell on Armstrong. There are goals in us with Ainsworth and Ojamaa. A draw would be a welcome result. 2-2.
  14. Reading between the lines, we could have new ownership in a matter of weeks. Management situation will naturally be addressed then.
  15. Pishing myself watching that 2nd goal back.
  16. On the whole, a more positive style of play that is bearable to watch. Too soft in the 2nd half however. We should have been cranking it up against a team that played at Ibrox 3 days ago. Shocker from Ramsden and Sutton was detrimental to the creativity of Ojamaa and Ainsworth.
  17. Some of the most fluid football we've seen from Motherwell in a while, which partly stems from Vigurs, Ainsworth and Ojamaa getting the opportunity to play together. Hard lines losing the goal within seconds of Ojamaa carving out a great chance. I do think the team lacks a bit of balance in the midfield which may make us more vulnerable to counter attacks. Doubt St Johnstone will give us so much time on the ball in the 2nd half so hopefully we can dig it into and step it up a bit. Sutton really should have buried that chance.
  18. Plenty more attacking options tonight which is welcome although I'm surprised we haven't went with Carswell in midfield. 'Mon the 'Well, put on a performance for our prospective owners.
  19. Given that the Well Society have had the goalposts moved for both amount of capital and timescale of delivery, is there an acceptable offer on the table just now for takeover and/or 3rd party investment.
  20. Yeah, sigh of relief that the desperation is not coming from the club. The confusion was unfortunate. It would appear that the goalposts for the society have been moved significantly, possibly due to a poor run of firm on the park - which underlines why an over-reliance funded backing is such a precarious predicament to be in. Now we are back to the original plan of seeing where we are at the end of November and finding out what the clubs model is. Personally I'm not in favour of business takeover being facilitated by debt. Particularly a football club with limited revenue streams. In my opinion, commitment to repayments would strangle any future growth of the club over the next 5 years.
  21. Albeit, it was a 1 year agreement... So the email on Sunday was written by the society and not the club. Indeed Motherwell have distanced themselves from it a little on twitter - despite the letter being signed by the Board. Therefore, the club may not have such an averse reaction to the prospect of 3rd party interest as portrayed in the letter.
  22. An English consortium approached Dundee Utd a few months ago and accies indicated that they recently declined an offer. So there is certainly an interest in premier league clubs. Not that the media are on the case, the identity of potential buyers may be revealed sooner rather than later.
  23. Response from the Well Society: http://www.thewellsociety.co.uk/2014/10/30/well-society-statement/ No doubt that we are toiling to get through the season due to poor performance on the pitch. Why the fuck the Board of a provincial club with no credit facility have continued to adopt such a bullish approach to setting budgets is beyond me.
  24. Have never heard of the main stand security before. I imagine the asset management company is linked to one of Boyle's numerous ventures. In summary though, if this £1million is raised, half of it is going straight to Boyle. The urgency suggests he's in desperate need of the money and the intention is to fleece the fans accordingly. As a business proposition, who the fuck would lend money to Motherwell given the losses we've made over the last 3 years while succeeding on the park? Do we know how much the current Board of Directors have invested in the club? Hopefully the media take a wee bit of interest today, particularly when there is the St Johnstone press conference anyway. We certainty deserve some clarity as the prospect of sitting in the Championship with a bunch of kids and a significant points deduction, is not a million miles away under the current regime.
  25. Hopefully in the coming days we'll have scope to determine whether or not the tone of desperation partly stems from self interest. I'd certainly like to see what a proposed buyer has to offer. The current regime has ran us into the ground and it would appear Boyle is now calling in his debts.
