  1. It was a soft pen but as soon as Law put his hand out I feared the worst. Lesson learned hopefully.
  2. Mind we rested Sutton and Lasley against Albion Rovers. Strongest team possible and no change of keeper hopefully.
  3. NDP doesn't have many good memories. Hopefully we can be as solid as we were today but have the added pace and creativity of Erwin and Ojamaa supporting Sutton.
  4. Great point. It was a lethargic Celtic but we'd normally lose by a goal or two. We've tried playing that way numerous times at Parkhead but we are much better disciplined defensively now. O'Brien looks a real valuable addition in that respect and while Twardzik has his critics, he inspires the defence IMO. Time to kick on now with a tricky double header against the Accies. Key positive from today is the strength of the bench. Decent options.
  5. Looks a horribly defensive lineup. Reid in a holding midfield maybe? No width, pace or support for Sutton. The bench looks decent though.
  6. With the right coaching staff around him, I've no doubt McCall can operate at a much higher level. He's not without the flaws but his man management is indisputable. Strachan rates him very highly.
  7. Just before a cup game!? If he does go we really can't afford to the replacement wrong. Interesting times ahead.
  8. Starting to get a notion to attend. Am I right in thinking that we've previously been able to pick up away end tickets from Celtic ticket office?
  9. Anyone making it along to these games? Judging by the highlights in recent weeks, Thomas, Cadden and Mackin really look to be catching the eye.
  10. Said last year I wouldn't be back. However, if we get a yes vote, I'll be there hungover tae fuck.
  11. If true, I don't think this is one he could turn down. While not manager, a very hands on job at a Premiership club is quite a step up. Palace are a bit of a basket case club but if it wasn't to work out, he'd still get a decent job in the aftermath. All going well though, he'd possibly be in line to replace the previously retired Warnock. From our perspective, small amount of compensation would be welcome but I really hope Scott Leitch wouldn't be in the reckoning.
  12. Maybe John Boyle will spunk away a few quid in the event of a No vote.
  13. 4-1 Hibs. Faddys first goal upon his return. Higginbotham peach.
  14. Dom Thomas has been struggling to get on the bench recently. For some reason, I think we'll get a result on Saturday if a couple of the injuries have cleared up.
  15. McCall should return from that trip full of inspiration. Team were a credit to the country.
  16. It's perfect timing to introduce the initiative. Looking forward to future seasons though, such packages would needed to price at higher rates than the ST.
  17. Excellent move from the club. And one I'll take advantage of after not renewing my ST in the summer.
  18. Makes sense although you wonder about a private investor willing to put in around £300k with no guarantee that this will be repaid by the fans. If the soft loan wasn't repaid in x months, would investor get a shade of the club? I've been openly sceptical about the viability of the WS from the outset, however I have been encouraged by the recent shakeup and increased focus in networking with local businessmen.
  19. Interested to know how a soft loan fits with fan ownership.
  20. I think we should have done better with player recruitment, turnaround and youth investment with income generation in mind. While you can't make a club buy one of your players, I remain baffled that we couldn't get any money for Randolph, Hutchinson et al while the likes of Falkirk and Livingston attract very good fees. The structure of our budget hasn't being right either. While our attractive bonus scheme has contributed to our unprecedented consistency in the park, the players have benefited more than the club from 2nd/3rd place finishes.
  21. With Celtic and Accies double to follow, this is a pivotal game. Result needed here to have a shred of confidence going into the cup game.
  22. The issue is that during 6/7 years of relative success, we have failed to provide a platform to sustain the future of the club. This leads to apathy. In terms of the league, we can do any better than recent years but have relatively nothing to show for it. Interesting to see what happens with the WS over the next couple of months. Reading tweets about soft loans to fund fan ownership?
  23. No bother. Judging by the attendance figures, I'm not the only one scunnered by a sham of a summer.
  24. McCall has played his part in getting an organised and competitive Scotland team on the park. Massive couple of months ahead for the national team, good luck to all involved.
