  1. No idea what the script is with Quinn but he should get a team in England easily enough. There was talk of Championship teams being interested towards the end of the season.
  2. Ojamaa to Hibs would be a severe boot to the balls. Surely no.
  3. Of course not. Various signs throughout last season, including the recall of Hollis towards the end, to suggest that our highest paid keeper isn't rated. I wouldn't fancy our chances of moving him on but you never know.
  4. I suspect we are trying to offload Nielsen.
  5. I've not see any highlights of Clarkson's performances in the last 2 years but when he was doing alright at Bristol City, I seem to recall him playing a deeper role. For me, if he comes in, we still need 1 or 2 out and out attacking options to replace the quality of McFadden and Anier. Regarding his freebie to Algarve, I think Clarkson has raked in more than enough cash for the club to be entitled to this.
  6. Squad numbers confirmed and we have no number 1... Looks like Euan Murray is away too.
  7. Not surprising if he is training with us. Would be happy to see him back at the club, primarily as cover for Moore in the short term, but I do hope plans are in place to invest in a striker with potential. If Clarkson does return though, then be could play a significant role in the coming years like Lasley and Hammell. Will be interesting to see if we have 1 or 2 trialists heading out to Algarve.
  8. Not a club to take many risks so this would be a bold move by St Johnstone. Good luck to them, building on success..Suspect May will be offski but it would be interesting to see both upfront together.

  10. So we're looking for a couple of loan players from the English Premiership/Championship - not a market we've exhausted in recent years. Hopefully there is scope to invest in one permanent signing.
  11. IIRC, a while back you mentioned that we were looking for an attacker to link up the play. At the time, Shiels was the first name to come into my head. Rangers are seemingly looking to offload him. Prior to him opting for the 3rd division I'd have been pleased to see him at Fir Park but not so sure now.
  12. Burke would be a tremendous replacement for McFadden. Still hard to believe given how well he has performed down south.
  13. Goodwillie released with a decent payoff.
  14. Today's gossip page linking Kilmarnock with Goodwillie...
  15. Boyd is supposedly reluctant to move away from the central belt. However, if we have scope to offer a significant wage to an experienced striker then I think Higdon would be more likely. I suspect we are looking for a less experienced striker though that will compliment Sutton and could be sold on.
  16. Anything in excess of £250k is very good business. Whatever the fee there will be a fair chink of cash spread between Anier, agent, Viking and our Director. Given the quick turnaround, hopefully our Director is willing to facilitate a similar move again. I wouldn't be surprised if Clarkson is offered the chance to train with us if he has nothing lined up but I don't see him being one of McCall's first options.
  17. You would think the Agent has served all parties well and a quick turnaround was on the cards.
  18. Quick return for the Director that financed the move. Hopefully the club have made a six figure profit. The agent Lindblom appears to have served us well. Wonder if we will do business again. Now Jim O'Brien, was he the player looking to return to FP. He has until tomorrow to accept Barnsley's offer.
  19. I would expect one of the Directors to go. Sure I recall Andrew Wilson going previously.
  20. Tony Ashgar is an agent. There was a story about him and Moyes' brother representing us at a Euro draw before Gannon was appointed. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/109135/SPL-sides-date-with-destiny
  21. He lacks a football brain but he has the raw attributes to make an impact at this level, which he has done this season with a number of assists and a couple of goals. And while it doesn't come natural to him there has been the odd disciplined performance that has improved the balance of the side. With the right coaching he could prove to be a right handful at this level. He strikes me as someone that could hit a purple patch, like Humphrey in his early days, and attract interest.
  22. Decent enough looking start. Glad our first home game isn't midweek. At least we should benefit from a good St Mirren turnout. 7 games in January. 2 in March!? Obviously there is the Scottish Cup and international break to factor in but it seems daft to plan so many games for January. Celtic twice away again.
  23. McFadden needs replacing. Despite not meeting expectations last season he contributed significant a to our points tally from Christmas onwards. A forward/winger, particularly in the absence of Moore, and a centre half and we're sorted.
  24. Good work keeping him here. His technically ability shone through last season and with a pre-season behind him, he has the ability to kick on and be a key player. Shame it's just a year as I think if he stays fit and focused, he's the type of player you can make money from. Once we get Butke in, we'll be flying.
  25. Great news for Hutch. One of my all time favourites and a deserved move.
