  1. McPake has been on the brink of retirement has he not? We need a young centre half that can read the game alongside McManus.
  2. The rumoured figure at the time of the Real Radio story was 300k. Think that ship has sailed though...
  3. Well chuffed with Twardzik joining. Obviously far from the finish article given his limited first team opportunities at Dundee but he looked confident and composed at the turn of the year. Signing a young talent with plenty of potential fits well with Derek Weir's framework. Early days but it looks like we are going to be better prepared for Europe this year.
  4. I'm surprised Hasselbaink hasn't had more of an impact at St Johnstone. Would certainly take him based on his St Mirren form. McCall was keen on him at that point in time.
  5. Delighted to see Hammell sign up for a further two years. I'd welcome the return of Jim O'Brien. Him and Ainsworth down the wings would be quite a prospect. Focus however has to be bringing in a couple of players that have plenty of scope to be developed and sold on.
  6. Refreshing realism from the Board. Hopefully we are further down the road towards alternative investment than the statement lets on.
  7. No surprise with the Law signing and if he is half as good as his brother he will be a good addition. Hopefully he can dictate the play and provide a bit of drive and creativity from the middle of the park.
  8. Most of the good prospects in the lower leagues are under contract. Livi, Falkirk and Accies appear to be pretty savvy on that front. Quite remarkable that Livi have managed to sell 3 players to England since we played them, receiving 6 figure sums for all 3.
  9. Think it's fairly evident that GM will have little to do with contract. Wonder if the Director that funded Faddy's salary will be contributing to the budget this year.
  10. Hibs won't get relegated. Given the efforts Dempster went to last year, Hibs will be in for him if he can pass a medical.
  11. Hibs I'd expect. Shame it didn't work out, always a hero.
  12. Nobody want to sponsor a league that involves Celtic and not Rangers. Various companies that had interests in both clubs pulled out of Celtic when Rangers were liquidated. Doncaster is not cut out for the job but clubs need to take far more responsibility given the drop in quality.
  13. Speaks volumes for the club that a player of McManus' experience and calibre is so quick to sign up for 2 years. He seems really settled.
  14. All the work and success in recent years deserves to culminate in an unforgettable European night. I'd love to see us getting a wee fun like the Odense year and hold our nerve.

    Aberdeen

Fitting farewell from Hutch. Storming performance.
  16. The team we had last year was special, to surpass the points total of that squad, while up against a superior Aberdeen and Dundee United, is a baffling achievement. McCall, his staff and the players deserve huge credit for their phenomenal work ethic and will to win. We've never seen such a consistent Motherwell team. Thank you Motherwell. Roll on a kind draw in Europe and having a right good go.
  17. Brilliant determination from Reid to get there. Couldn't be sweeter.
  18. We were fucking pish but that was fucking immense. Dodgy goal against that lot, couldn't be sweeter....
  19. He parried a cross onto the penalty spot in the first 5 minutes. He rushed a throw out and gave away possession. He clutched thin air at a corner. He stood watching a cross hit the woodwork.
  20. Brutal. Playing ultra defensive when you have a bombscare keeper isn't good for the nerves.
  21. All out attack McCall... Hopefully Kerr is at right back with Reid trying to do a job in midfield. Could work if we get to half time level.
  22. Wonder what the team will be tomorrow. Hopefully we have a far more solid shape than the recent effort at Tannadice. I'd be bringing Leitch in for Zaine and pushing Vigurs out to the left. Hopefully McFadden is fit as we've been struggling to keep hold of the ball whenever he gets substituted.
  23. 20+ goals in a team that doesn't create a huge amount of chances, Sutton just edges out Lasley for me. Lasley will continue to be the heartbeat of the team for a couple of seasons yet but he needs a bit of dig alongside him. Our midfield has been outplayed a wee bit too often this season. Nobody else in the running really. Mention to Twardzik because without his positive impact at our lowest ebb, I doubt we'd have turned around our season in the manner we did.
