Hutch's exit is a given and I'd be very surprised to see Ainsworth stay. I love Faddy to bits and would hate to see him play against us but his injuries are getting the better of him. Depending on who leaves, we may have scope to bring a fair few in. I'd like to see a wee but more pace and athleticism down the wide areas, possibly from fullback, to give the likes of Vigurs options. We also need a proper midfielder to break up play and maintain possession. Half decent goalie obviously a must too.

Terrible news about Moore, feared the worst last night when he went down. Hopefully he can make a full recovery. Time for Erwin to get a wee bit of exposure in the interim.

We wanted the 3 points in any fashion possible and we got them, just. Phenomenal achievement to get 67 points this season and secure European qualification. How we've quiet managed it given some of our second half performances is testament to the character and drive of the squad. Helluva improvement required for Sunday. Let's see if we can grind out one more result.

Disappointed that there has been no initiative to boost the attendance on Wed.

Suppose there is the notion that going to Aberdeen only needing a point may go against us.

Miller is a Scotland favourite of mine but he shouldn't be and won't be the route we're going down. We've invested significantly in Anier and Moore has real promise. I therefore don't see us in the market for a striker this summer. If Faddy goes, I'd be looking for more of a Murphy style replacement down the left. Miller will go it whoever offers more at Ibrox or Easter Road.

If McManus stays, we should be bringing in a young centre half to develop alongside him and hopefully sell on. And that isn't likely to be Fraser Kerr as we need one centre half that can cope with players running at them. I'd keep Reid if he's happy to stay for buttons due to his versatility and energy. Shame we lost Saunders to injury, he was miles ahead of any the options we have now.

Cummins has barely got off the bench at Dundee.

In 25 years of going to Fir Park, one of my all time favourites. Few players like him in modern football. He done well to get over his early injury issues when he was 18/19. Next step is to make the most of his attributes and play at a high level in England. Wish him all the best wherever he ends up.
-
Think we'll need to change the midfield a wee bit as Tansey and Draper threatened to give us a bit of a going over on there last trip to Fir Park. I'd bring in Leitch and push Vigurs out to the left. Also tempted to start Anier and Faddy upfront as Sutton has looked slightly out of sorts in the last 2 matches. Hopefully we get a decent turnout to see us clinch a European place.

I'm still no convinced with Reid. Vigurs one of the few players to show composure and class on the ball but Ainsworth was my motm. Posed a threat throughout and had that wee bit of quality to make the difference.

Brilliant 3 points earned with a performance that sums up our season. Slightly surprised by St Johnstone's overly aggressive approach to the game. Certainly not taking it easy in the run-up to the final. Same again on Wednesday please.

Sounds like promising news to me. Really hope Derek Weir is about to play a prominent role in the running of the club. Without knowing the ins and out of the Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd restructuring, there is still investors out there.

Well worth saving.

Hoping that the timing of Dempster's departure doesn't have too much impact on our summer activity. Particularly when we've opted to hold off with contract extensions. Wonder if we'll see Hibs making any offers to our out of contract players?

Is the cash converters deal up at the end of the season?

The centre halves miss the screening that our midfield two possessed in previous years and we lack an assured keeper. Our fullbacks meanwhile are drilled to go forward more than prevent crosses. We also miss the pressing game that Ojamaa, Murphy and Humphrey offered when we defended from the front. Why we played such a high line yesterday against a mobile front 4 was beyond me. McManus as an individual has had many more good games than bad but he's not quite guided our defence in a manner that you would expect given his international and European experience. I'm happy to sacrifice good defending for an attacking approach but you need to be able to rely on your defensive shape when you are going through a sticky spell.

Think Gunnar is the only one that came close to pass marks which says it all when you concede 5. Reid made a good few tackles but most of them stemmed from poor positioning. Armstrong the best player on the park.

Enjoyable football and a cup run.

I do understand how the society works and appreciate that every penny that has been invested sits there just now. The money is there to provide cash flow like an overdraft. However, I suspect that in 5/10/15 years time the fund will disappear when we come up against an unplanned expense. Do we then start again? I fully appreciate everyone time and investment in the society but there is no way I can see it working without having some local businessmen with financial clout. Regarding players wages, investing in McManus and McFadden was a risk and I'm not convinced we'll get any financial benefit from it - depends on the bonus structure in place for finishing 2nd/3rd/4th. Anyway, enough for today after that performance.

McCall caught out for the umpteenth time when he tries to get tactically clever. Abysmal performance from management and players. On the bright side, Dundee United were a joy to watch again. Movement, touch, pace, power and skill in abundance. Look forward to seeing Armstrong and Robertson blossom for Scotland.

No blame can be apportioned to fans. I love Motherwell to bits and invest significantly in watching us but there is no way I'm funding an interest free overdraft when the Board aren't very good with their sums. We don't have the fan base to produce in excess of £1 million every x years. The losses over the last couple of years given the success on the park doesn't cover the Board in glory. If we are in financial trouble then players like McFadden and McManus shouldn't be at the club. Suck it up and put your faith and money in a good youth system that's supplemented by savvy contract management.
-
Looking forward to this having missed the Celtic game. Hopefully we go into this full of energy and confidence. Dundee United have a host of very good Individuals but few if them have hit peak form in recently games. Keep GMS and Armstrong under control and 3 points are there for the taking.
-
Oh aye, agree with that and fingers crossed that we can somehow get at least McHugh and Lawson off the wage bill. However, we should have been in a position to offer contracts to Lasley, Hammell and McManus by now.

It's the club that needs to commit to the players.
