  1. Scott MacDonald may have a bit of arrogance about him but he worked his balls off to achieve what he did. Unless Watt is well managed, he'll disappear within a few years. Wonder if we still have a winger on trial? Mind we nearly signed the Belgian boy at one point last season.
  2. He's got the Celtic crest on the back window of his motor. Not for me. As I've said before though, McGeough appears to be a much more grounded guy and I think he could maybe do a job for us.
  3. 3-1 Thistle. Lawless to prove a point. Will be good seeing a couple of forward thinking fullbacks on show.
  4. To be fair, outwiith his Bradford connections, we've never really raided the English leagues under McCall.. Consequently, we have no additions to the squad that are capable of generating a transfer fee.
  5. Baffles me that both Ramsden and Kerr got 2 year deals.
  6. Vigurs should be tucking in on the left, nowhere near good enough to play in the middle.
  7. McCall is not one for throwing kids into the team. Would be nice to see Moore and Erwin get a sniff but the majority of the kids don't look like they are anywhere near ready physically to make the step up.
  8. Think Faddy exceeded all expectations last season as we didn't know what to expect fitness wise. Doesn't appear to have progressed at all since the kuban game but not entirely sure whether that is down to fitness, attitude or lack of quality around him. Given the lack of creativity in the team, we really need to move him up front and see what he can do. Some of his best play for Motherwell previously came in a front two with Stuart Elliott. Think it's time to play him in a mobile front two or three and see what he can do. Imo, we're better off without Sutton at the moment as the long ball stuff will never work. Almost 10 years since McFadden scored a farewell brace at home to Partick Thistle. Hopefully he can kick off his season next weekend and start to inspire those around him.
  9. From what I've seen of Partick Thistle, they look a far slicker team than us. Could be a tasty one next week.
  10. If only Sheffield United had put an extra few quid on the table...
  11. Butcher has been keen to highlight that Inverness sign players to fit a particular style of play. Polar opposite from McCall's lazy approach.
  12. Anier was away on international duty so maybe toiling. Although he must be fucked to get dropped for McHugh.
  13. Anier and ZFA out for McHugh and Lawson. Rapid!
  14. Might not be pretty to watch but I fancy us to grind out a result tomorrow.
  15. Signing players like McManus and McFadden. Throwing games in Europe. We can't be in too much financial difficulty...
  16. Time for Vigurs to step up to the plate on his return north.
  17. Youth setup seems to have been on a downward spiral since McCart departed. Do Moore or Erwin look like they could make the grade?
  18. Reynolds seems to have a gripe in how he left Motherwell. Recall a tweet indicating that he wouldn't be watching us on the cup final, 6 months after leaving. Good luck to him though, fine player.
  19. As much as I don't like loaning players from the same league, I kinda hope we are keeping an eye on Dylan McGeough. He'd partially fill the void left by Law and Ojamma in terms of having the ability to carry the ball and beat players. Should be playing against England tomorrow.
  20. If we had good forward thinking fullbacks, I think we would be well suited to a 4312, allowing various permatations in midfield and upfront and providing Vigurs and McFaddden some much needed freedom. Given the lack of mobility offered by Ramsden and Hammell though, I do think we need to consider moving to a 3412. I don't trust either defensively but ZFA and Kerr would offer some much needed pace and energy up the wings with Carswell and Lawson mopping up behind them.
  21. Spot on. Had we signed McManus at the beginning of the summer, I doubt we would have signed both Kerr and Ramsden. Sutton was signed without having a strike partner in mind. And Vigurs seems like a bit of an afterthought subsequent to us missing out on Wylde and Vigurs' Oldham move falling through. Vigurs is a good player but he was a success at Ross County due to having a team build around him. He's getting hung out to dry a wee bit at the moment by trying to fit him into the Law role.
  22. As well as needing some pace and width, we need someone to link up the play. Higginbothan would have been a solid signing and possibly prevented us resorting to the long ball shite.
  23. Can only assume Lawson was nowhere near fit today or he would have brought on by half time, at the latest.
