  1. McGinn is a right good player. Aberdeen have done well to hang onto him after doing so well last season.
  2. Precisely. Got what we deserved today after our pathetic approach to Thurs.
  3. Anier by a mile. Very impressive shift after running himself into the ground on Thurs. Hopefully his enthusiastic approach stands the test of time.
  4. Today would have been acceptable if we had we went full pelt in Russia. Next time McCall opts to rest a few players and plan ahead for a 'big game', make sure you leave behind players that are well drilled in dragging you through the game in question. Aberdeen by far the better team today, enjoyed watching the link up play of Pawlett, Hayes and McGinn. Early days for us but we haven't came close to replacing the quality we lost in the summer. Today may put to bed the theory that Vigurs is a replacement for Law.
  5. Lasley covers more ground than most of his counterparts. Indeed so far this season he has looked much fitter than Lawson. Tremendous servant to the club and should be playing with us until he retires.

  7. 2/1 caught the eye but surely the suitably refreshed Sutton, Vigurs and McFadden will be too good for them...
  8. Lawless is a talented boy and should have been given a new contract. if necessary, he could have been loaned out for a few months last season to get game time. Now we are toiling for a winger while someone like Bob McHugh sits on a 2 year contract
  9. Delighted to see Lawless scoring a couple today. Looking forward to seeing him at Fir Park in a few weeks. Major point to prove.
  10. Anier, battled away well with little support. Looking forward to see him pair up with Surton. Solid game from the keeper but I don't think he covered himself in glory at the goal.
  11. Was with John Barnes on sportsound. Heat must have went to his head.
  12. McCall has yet to see the wingers we are planning to look at.
  13. McHugh goal would have been the 'icing on the cake'. Fuck off McCall.
  14. Can't wait for this game. Road to Europe starts now.
  15. If we had signed Higginbotham on a 2 year deal I'd have rated that as one of our best signings of the summer. Boy has bags of talent, just needs time to establish himself in his preferred role behind a striker. I think he would have been an indirect replacement for Ojamaa. Not to worry, we have Lasley and 2 fullbacks supporting Anier tonight.
  16. Just can't get my head round why you sign experience like McFadden and then don't use him on the European stage, fitness permitting. Genuinely thought we were taking it seriously this year.
  17. Not so sure about that, he pulled off some remarkable results over the years.
  18. Pa Broon on the telly talking up our chances, saying a goal for us could turn the tie on its head. Despite his flaws, he certainly didn't go into any game with an inferiority complex.
  19. Hugely disappointed but not surprised.
  20. St Mirren fan on P&B suggesting we have shown a late interest in Adam Campbell. Can't see us signing another striker but he sounds like a very good prospect by all accounts.
  21. We have plenty of time to make up points in the league. Full focus should be on doing ourselves justice in Europe for the first time in a few years. Leaving players at home piles unnecessary pressure onto the Aberdeen game. Travelling away with a 2-0 deficit always reminds me of Wembley 99. Glorious failure would be an achievement.
  22. IMO there is little benefit in leaving 2 or 3 behind. If McCall and the players think there is a glimmer of a chance in getting back into the tie, then we should be 100% committed.
  23. McManus looks the player that his cv suggests. Class act but he wasn't tested much today due to Fenlon's tactics. Also really like the look of Lawson although Thurs seemed to catch up with him in the 2nd half. My motm though is Lasley, streetwise performance and I think he kicked on when some others were tiring.
  24. Typically tame early season affair but if anyone deserved to win it was us. Looking at new signings, Lawson continues to impress while McManus didn't have much to contend with. Vigurs has obvious quality just needs to take a wee bit more care on possession. My heart was in my mouth when Anier got put through on goal after he fluffed his lines a couple of times in Morecambe but he kept his composure beautifully. Good start to the season.
  25. I'd go with the same shape. Would also like to see Carswell feature but the experience of Lasley is vital.
