  1. 442 and a Lasley screamer would go down a treat. I imagine Butcher will have his team well up for it. They weren't at the races on the 1st day of the season and were reportedly hard done by in our 2nd meeting. Inverness have looked very good on occassion in recent months. However David Davis is a signficant loss to them and I'm not sure if Andrew Shinnie has returned yet. Hayes will provide the main danger.
  2. Hibs reportedly had a cracking under 19s team which I think won the league a year or two ago. Only Booth and Wotherspoon have graduated to the 1st team from that squad. At the same time, the likes of lawless, mchugh, halsman and pollock were getting rave reviews by whoever writes the reports on the official website. Has the progress of these players been curtailed by the absence of the reserve league? Given the standard of the SPL, proper talent like Faddy, Pearson, Murphy and Hammell will always make the breakthrough at 17/18 but is it the case that run of the mill potential isn't getting the opportunity to mature?
  3. I'ndeed leave it to the suits in charge but it surely crosses your mind when the club are writing out to us seeking a fan contribution towards an overall £1.5 million investment to keep us ticking over. Anyway, I doubt Law will be going anywhere.
  4. As a Motherwell fan, I believe we need to sell the odd player to keep ourselves afloat. If anyone is interested in Law 6 months into his contract, then I'd consider a decent offer. He's hardly irreplaceable and a year from now would be worth peanuts. In saying that, I'd far rather we sold Humphrey.

Higdon is the better footballer. If only he could win a foul like Sutton.
  6. Good luck to him, shame it went so badly at Wednesday. It will be a wee bit strange seeing him playing against us. I gather McCall gave up with bringing in a left sided defender after signing Clancy to cover Saunders.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised to see us hit double figures in terms of 'outs' in the summer. There is a host of ex Under 19s that don't appear to be anywhere near making an impression in the first team.
  8. Always had a soft spot for Hughes but he's made a good living from football and doesn't seem interested in getting back to his best. Mind you, I won't be surprised if he ends up at the likes of St Mirren. Given that McCall wasn't for keeping him, why play him at Ibrox? Ross Fiorbes must be scunnered. With regards transfer window, if we bring in anybody it has to be a genuine left sided midfielder. It might prompt McCall to give 442 a go and give Murphy a run upfront.
  9. If anything, we shat it. Humped by a front 3 of aluko, Healy and fleck...
  10. If his time at bradford is anything to go by, the 451 is here to stay.
  11. Anyone know how many performances and losses Craigan, Lasley and Hammell have notched up against Rangers. Three terrific Motherwell servants but their confidence must have shot to pieces years ago with regards taking on the old firm and rangers in particular. These guys are the very fabric of the club but I doubt we will ever get a result at Ibrox during their remaining years.
  12. I'll be waiting to hear the starting lineup before deciding whether to head down. Couple of the youger lads deserve the opportunity.
  13. Without doubt, the worst rangers team in my lifetime 3 Yet another heartless Motherwell squad 0 Second half of the season is going to be tough going.
  14. Judging by the back of the ticket, the sales office is still across from the away entrance...
  15. Tickets still available at Fir Park. Awaiting clarification as to where they will be available for anyone that wants one on the Monday.
  16. Hopefully McCall doesn't spout his usual patronising shite in the build up to this game. St mirren, St Johnstone and Inverness have more than matched them at Ibrox in recent times. If McCall can address the absence of Jennings we should at the very least make them work hard for a result.
  17. Tickets surely on sale until the weekend?
  18. Fuck, not looking forward to Ibrox so much now.
  19. Yeah, yesterday afternoon would have seen much healthier crowds across Scotland.
  20. I have to pick my games so when I opt to spend £90 on tickets for the missus and I to see us at Tynecastle and Ibrox, a midweek game against a dire Dunfermline team has to take a back seat.
  21. Nothing tongue in cheek about murphy filling in for hammell. Maybe the wrong phrase but he spends a significant chunk of his game tracking back, clearly under instruction. While he lacks strength, centre forward is his natural game. His pace and movement should be enough to get the better of most spl centre halves. When he gets his move, he'll no doubt bulk up in a similar fashion to the likes of s fletch and naismith.
  22. Aye, a 3-0 in the early 90s rings a bell with me.
  23. Steelboy spot on with reading murphy and law's game. I don't know how folk can view his best position as wide left. He needs license to focus on going forward as opposed to filling in for hammell time after time.
