  1. Surely Hughes deserves a bit of time to get his fitness? After all, it takes Jennings 2 months to get going after a summer break before turning in to our most vital player. Hughes will come good and his comfort in possession will reap the rewards. As for the Dunfermline game, I'd like to see Murphy upfront and Humphrey on the right. Law deserves to be dropped but I'd probably give him a shot wide left.
  2. Murphy was having a half decent game until he took a knock in the first half.
  3. Thats been a long time coming. Hopefully serves as a wake up call. We set up for a draw today and offered very little going forward. Law does my nut in despite his talent while Hately had a rare howler. How the 2 of them lasted 90 minutes is beyond me. Interesting to see how we react gainst the league's whipping boys. We have to go 442.
  4. I could watch Tommy Coyne all day long. 12 goals by Nov 5th. How many did he end up with that season?
  5. Al and Eddie spot on. Accept the understandable punishment and move on.
  6. I'm not surprised he has ended up with a ban. Albeit I doubt the incident would have been investigated if it wasn't for Goodwin's reaction. Hopefully he returns from his scouse Christmas in decent shape for Ibrox.
  7. Just watched the game on Alba. Never really doubted us today as we are miles ahead of St Johnstone. When we get going there is a gulf in class between us and the 9 teams below us and we should cherish this spectacular away form while it lasts. Carrying this momentum into our home matches would be the icing on the cake.
  8. I don't think we are particularly great, just better than the competition. The fact that an average St Johnstone side are 4th in the league sums up how poor the standard is.
  9. St Johnstone will fade away, they are far from being a great side.
  10. While we are not flying at the moment, 3rd is ours to throw away if nothing major happens during the January window. Hearts look less and less likely of turning things around and for me they are the only major threat over the course of a season.
  11. Either that or two centre forwards who can play off each other. Personally, I think our biggest 'flaw' is that there is too much focus on what we do off the ball. When we were playing well under Broon, Murphy and Humphrey had license to belt forward at every opportunity and provide for Blackman and co, while Lasley and Jennings done all the grafting. Infact we done the same under McCall from time to time, Quarter final replay the best example .Watching Murphy and Humphrey just now, they always have one eye on tracking back. While it clearly works tremendously well away from home, I think we are good enough to give our attack minded players more freedom at Fir Park. Anyway, Friday night has presented a valuable opportunity for McCall and the players to learn some lessons from a game that cost us nothing.
  12. Think Las is hoping to be back. Lomas has got off to a fine start but I think St Johnstone will continue to be better on the road than they are at home. Time for us to put in a performance after a series of poor shows.. Humphrey out Lasley in, with Law playing in a front 3 alongside Higdon and Murphy.
  13. What was the crowd? Cooper and East seemed pretty busy. I'd imagine there will be an extra couple of thousand at the rescheduled game
  14. Jennings dynamite at the moment. Law has become increasing frustrating over the last couple of months.
  15. We definately got away with one tonight. At he moment a bit of wind and rain seems to put us completely off our stride. Disappointed that McCall seems to be persisting with the same shape that struggles to bring us goals. Hopefully Lasley is fit for the rearranged game.
  16. Interesting to read that Dalziel is dominated by 'Well fans, I didn't quite appreciate that. During my time at Coltness, we were hugely outnumbered by Rangers fans. Brought up in Camby and flew the nest to Cleland. Parents come from Motherwell and went to Dalziel. All going well, I'd like to end up in Motherwell.
  17. Completely agree with this. Exactly the lineup I want to see.
  18. Great to see Jennings at the top of his game. Would love to see him and a fit Stef Hughes playing together.
  19. Poor show, bit of a red neck to be honest.
  20. Weather was always going to ruin the game today.. Time for McCall to take the shackles off when we are playing at Fir Park.
  21. Dundee United seem to have turned the corner a wee bit, albeit they didn't deserve to beat Hearts on Saturday. We know they can prove to be stuffy opposition and have a decent threat going forward. Hopefully we don't give them a chance to settle though, rip into them from the 1st minute and blow them away. A repeat of the Scottish Cup game would go down a treat.
  22. The pricing incentive prevents any meaningful findings from our participation in the Friday night games however the atmsophere generated may encourage greaters numbers to be interested in Friday evening games in the future. As for the Hibs support, I think they will come through in healthy numbers if they make a half decent managerial appointment beforehand.
  23. Excellent offer from the club. I was already looking forward to the Propsect of taking a half day and making the most of the hours leading up to Friday night football but this should ensure a very decent atmosphere under the floodlights. Well done Motherwell.
  24. Every game means so much at the moment thanks to our form and the fact that the Old Firm remain in sight. It's been a long time since I've felt like this following Motherwell and there is a sense of something special being on this season. However, we should look no further than the Dundee United game as we have some patchy home form to address. Can't wait for the weekend.
