  1. Dundee United will make a bit of money out of him in the years to come. Good investment.
  2. Derek Weir said weeks ago that there was financial scope to bring in a permanent signing and 2 loans so hopefully that materialises. I do wonder if McCall has got his eye on 1 or 2 established players but needs to wait until the end of the month to see if they are available on loan.
  3. Sore one. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.
  4. Disappointed to see Kerr go if that is indeed the case, he appeared to be a good influence for both Randolph and Hollis. IIRC, Kerr had been looking at options abroad so maybe something materialised? Never had any time for Marshall as a player and his coaching CV doesn't fill me with optimism.
  5. That is a sore one for them. I've only seen St Mirren in their opening game at East End Park. While the hype seems to be around their passing game I was impressed with their work rate off the ball, giving a poor Dunfermline team absolutely no time on the ball. Think this could be 1-0 either way.
  6. When did we last win a league game away from Fir Park?
  7. Hutchy had a couple of shockers against ICT that would have led to goals if they had a competent striker. After a shaky start I thought Saunders came on to a decent game today. Not much between the pair of them.
  8. Good goal from Murphy but I don't think he will have overly impressed any scouts today. Quite happy for him to strike that balance between now and the end of August.
  9. Kept in a cupboard for ten years. Him and Essien will have some fine stories to share.
  10. I've really liked the look of Hateley this season so I'm chuffed to see him get so much credit after a fine performance today. He offers a real attacking outlet up the right and is strong defensively. My motm however goes to Law, integral to all of our attacking play. His ability to carry the ball while under pressure is tremendous.
  11. Has to be Carswell for me. Jennings needs someone to do the running for him.
  12. If Higdon is out I'd be inclined to bring in Saunders for McHugh and revert to a 451. We would pose more of a goal threat.
  13. I thought Mehmet developed well during his time at St Mirren. He would provide the ideal foil for Murphy but it is unlikely we could afford him as it would appear most of our budget has been spent on Law and Higdon.
  14. Levein has been indicating that he likes to add 4 or 5 future prospects to the core of his friendly squads. That seems fair enough but the jury is out on his choices. The inclusion of the Forrest is the open to criticism as he faded away badly last season. He did go on to say that these future prospects are likely to be replaced by older heads in the qualifying games.
  15. Paul Gallagher is the one that gets me. Outstanding by all accounts last season. Wish one of the journalists would question him on it. As long as Steven Fletcher is out the squad, Levein isn't the man for the job.
  16. On the last two occasions that Levein has been at a Motherwell game, Murphy has been non-existent. If he shows what we know he is capable of on a more regular basis, he will be in the squad. I imagine a good performance this Sunday will propel him to first in line should there be any call-offs.
  17. Hopefully they get a tough game on Thursday. Sutton a nap to score. We need a striker to have a chance of winning.
  18. If either team had a clinical centre forward, it would have been an enthralling game. Typical early season tippy tappy stuff. Really like the look of Law.
  19. At last, someone on the same wavelength as me when it comes to rating Goodwillie. I take great interest in seeing Scottish talent progress but the hype surrounding Goodwillie is media driven imo. I'm sure he will go on to carve out a decent career but he is far away from being a top Scottish talent.
  20. That is another decent signing. As well as we played last week, I expect us to struggle away from home this season.
  21. Murphy ability sticks out like a sore thumb hence the interest in him and we are in need of the cash.
  22. Barring injury, it seems inevitable he will be away in the coming weeks. I very much doubt Parkhead will be his destination though.
  23. Hammell turned back the years, vintage display. What a difference it makes to have a proper midfielder in front of him.
  24. I'm actually delighted with that. Best looking shirt in years.
  25. Tremendous piece of business if we can pull it off. Gunning has the potential to make us a good few quid in the years to come.
