  1. We will get completely overrun if we play 442. Need an extra man in midfield to try and get some control of the game. Whiel Jeffers offers excellent movement we need to be solid so I'd keep him on the bench. Hopefully we can keep the game tight and then we can get a decent half hour out of him. Question for me is who is the 3rd man in midfield. Hateley? Given the threat coming down the left from Commons and Izaguerre I'd be inclined to keep Hateley at right-back, unless Maurice Ross can come onto a game.

Hopefully Gunning is just a bad loser but I was surprised by his poor attitude. Maybe Lafferty just got under his skin today.

    Rangers

Thought Jennings was the best of a poor lot.
  4. Defence was all at sea from the off today. I wouldn't say we lay down to Rangers but we didn't come close to having the same appetite for the game as Rangers, which I can understand to an extent. With an eye on the Cup final, today is a timely reminder that we can't beat Celtic with a 2 man midfield. While we have got some decent footballers in the team, we need to go with a 3 man midfield that will battle like fuck. Hat off to Steven Naismith, rediscovered his form from earlier in the season. Top player.
  5. I've never subscribed to the notion that there won't be enough tickets to meet our demand but the talk of a random ballot makes me a bit twitchy. How can that be fair and why is it needed for a club of our size? Digressing slightly, what about supporters, albeit relatively few, that don't have access to the internet?
  6. With the apparent inevitability surrounding the departure of Jennings, i'd like to think Alex Neil is on our radar. Really good player imo.
  7. In 2005, my old work was decked out in Claret & Amber for the week running up to the diddy final. The cup sponsors mind you were running a competition for best dressed window. In the run up to 91 I have vague memories of many houses down Motherwell showing off some Claret & Amber.
  8. Am I missing something? Is Jennings out? Ticket office opened tomorrow?
  9. Don't think Black says anything wrong., he's just being brutally honest. Sutton has already said that Tynecastle is his favourite ground in Scotland so he would obviously like to go there. I still think Higdon will be Jeffries first choice though. With regards to all the Rangers chat, I'd say it is more likely than 1 or 2 Rangers kids will be moving to FP this summer.
  10. Just fired my details into the ballot. With regards to the additional charges for using a debit/credit card and postage, I presume that once your name is plucked out the ballet you have the option of turning up at the office to pay cash and therefore negate the charges?
  11. I'm pretty sure the 3-0 win in 91 was the first team i'd been to see us play Rangers. At the time, Ireally thought we were the best team kicking about in Scotland. Daftly confident about Saturday. While Rangers usually win when they need to win, their creative players seem to be running on empty at the moment. At the same time though, I'm well aware that we are due to be brought back down to earth with a bump.
  12. I look forward to Hampden being 2/3s empty when we got up to lift the Cup.
  13. Income would be lost imo. Such an offer would only attract those who are inclined to buy a ST.
  14. Tremendous comeback, much more worthwhile exercise than a run of the mill victory. Wee niggling fear however that Sutton may just have moved a step closer to a move to Hearts.
  15. 4 weeks today is what it's all about.
  16. Usually keep an eye on how the Under 19s are progressing but completely lost track this season due to lack of updates.
  17. Given that the seating plan is already there for you, a Claret & Amber saltire in the West Stand would be the most straightforward imo and look tremendous. Nae idea how much a card display would cost though.
  18. Tremendous platform to build upon.
  19. Are Celtic likely to get all of the North Stand aye?
  20. Fuck any chat of Union Jacks. I'm sure there will be a notable flurry of saltires amidst a seas of Claret & Amber.
  21. Maguire was flying for a few months when Craig Brown arrived. Murphy's a better player but I guess the timing of his inconsistency has cost him a nomination on this occassion. Hooper should walk ypoty. Izaguirre would be my poty.
  22. SPL must be banking on either us going out the Cup or the league being decided before the last game of the season.
  23. I'll not get to FP until Friday. I'd be surprised if we take less than 8,000.
  24. Part of me hopes we get beat this Saturday in order to prevent folk getting carried away.. In my time supporting Motherwell, St Johnstone have twice done us in Scottish Cup Quarter Finals at FP and in both occasions we were overwhelming favourites. This game can easily go either way. A lot hinges on who wants it the most and who handles the occasion best. Recent semi-final performances from QoS and Ross County should stop anyone getting ahead of themselves. With regards St Johnstone, is Jody Morris back for them yet? Anyway, really looking forward to the game. Really refreshing going to Hampden knowing that your experience won't be blighted by the presence of the Old Firm.
