If there was any such conspiracy I'm sure Goodwillie would be in the squad in order for Houston to keep an eye on him. Not to mention the prospect of adding a few quid onto his price tag.
-
Recently cancelled ESPN when the SPL10 chat commenced. Could head to the pub to watch it, but the Spurs West Ham game is far more appealing.
-
So why is the game not on the 22nd? I'm sure Randolph and Craigan could join up on International duty the following day. Is the pitch the problem?
-
Fear Motherwell may have made a balls-up here. Not convinced that the prospect of a replay came into full consideration when re-seeding the pitch.
-
If Craigan gets called up to the Northern Ireland squad to place in A Euro qualifier, surely the game can't go ahead on the 29th? I assume the reason the game isn't on next week is because of Houston heading away for the Scotland get-together?

Cracking game of football with just about everybody putting in a good shift for us. Jeffers a class apart. Can't help but fear though that we will look back on today as missed opportunity. By the time the replay comes round, Dundee United will have had time to rest and the likes of Conway and Swanson will be approaching full fitness.

As I said before the Celtic game, I'm quite happy to sacrifice consistency in exchange for some big results (Old Firm, Scottish Cup etc). It appears you can't have both at our level.
-
Absolute nap we would get beat today. Who gives a fuck in truth? Roll on Tannadice...
-
Gannon found his best position I reckon.
-
Same team. Would be very typical of Motherwell to lose this game though.
-
Give Reynolds time to adjust. He has effectively taken a step down in the hope that Wednesday can make it big once again. Not going to happen under Megson mind you.
-
Fantastic keeper, offers great assurance to his defence. However, we should be looking to make some serious money out of him this summer.

Days like yesterday make football so worthwhile. I've been banging on for a wee while that I think McCall could direct us to an era that was reminiscent of our time under Butcher and dare I say McLean. Aye we may lose our fair share of games that we are expected to win but when it comes to the crunch, up against the Old Firm, we will give it absolutely everything and not be fazed by the reputation of the opposition. Indeed, the biggest satisfaction for me was that yesterday's performance didn't come as a surprise. To a man every single player gave it there all. Delighted for the 2 kids at centre half, when did we last have a defender that won every ball in the air that came near the box. Lasley led by example and set the tone for the match, Forbes showed his class and Sutton & Hateley were bang on the money. I hope those who were suggesting that Jennings and Lasley should be rested for the 'bigger' games that lie ahead in March had a good look at themselves this morning. Wins over the likes of Inverness and Killie are ten a penny while the memories generated yesterday will be taken to the grave. More importantly, we now have a new sense of belief that we can take on anybody, something that has gradually disappeared in the last 5 years, despite our relative success. Well done Motherwell.

Superb performances all round, Hutchison was a joy to watch while Hateley, Sutton and Forbes were bang on the money. MOTM has to go to Lasley though. We were turning back the years there with a Motherwell captain that shows 200% commitment, puts their foot in for every ball and most importantly, leads by example. Motherwell legend. Stephen Craigan should never get near the armband again.

I don't quite get the attitude of not risking players against Celtic as we will most likely lose. Celtic fucking hate coming to FP and we recently gave Rangers a scare at Hampden when nobody gave us a chance. I'd be content to lose every other league game this season if it meant we humped Celtic on Sunday. Intae them.
-
Usually agree with you mate but the players will give a fuck against Celtic, McCall will make sure of that. Some of our best results against the Old Firm over the years have came during a period of dodgy form.
-
+1. This is one of the better Celtic teams to come to FP in recent years but I fancy us to run them close as long as some of our key figures manage to shake off knocks.

Absolutely detested Boyle during his early years in charge but he ploughed an immense amount of money into the club and my faith was restored in him when he took the Cooper away from the Old Firm. This summer it was clear to me that his interest had jaded as he was unwilling to invest in a striker that would have took us by Odense and into a lucrative and prestigious phase of our history. The concern for me now is Derek Weir. Motherwell fan, articulate, experienced and incredibly well spoken but his grand plan seems a rather far fetched and lacks any genuine substance. For a club that was scraping the bottom of the barrel in the summer for a shirt sponsor, I fail to see where any significant local investment is going to come from.

I really like McCall. Got it wrong last night by relying on that humpty Humphrey but it's post match interview was very refreshing. Really feel like we are heading for a Butcher/McLean type era where we will regularly lose games we are expected to win but cause a few upsets along the way. I wouldn't be surprised if we run a very good Celtic team close on Sunday.
-
Felt throughout this season that Boyle was looking to step down. It was clear to see with how Weir was in charge of the interview process for a new manager.

Few quid on under 2.5 goals.
-
St Mirren have got a wee bit about them on their day. Need to get off to a good start and not offer them any encouragement. Never like us being up against Higdon.
-
Tremendous. I was hoping this would materialise.

Thought he looked fairly decent in the cup game. Plenty potential given he is only 21.
