  1. Top 6 is going to be a helluva challenge now. Should we beat Stranraer on Saturday, we could do with drawing a diddy team in the quarters. A semi-final payday will just about balance the books should we finish in the bottom 6.
  2. Balls. Reynolds and Gow wages are available.
  3. He's 29. If we have any money to shell out on players it would surely be invested in an up and coming prospect.
  4. I was by no means suggesting that he should be questioning McCall, he's got off to a solid enough start and strikes me as having a Terry Butcher type impact. However, he is a mile out from the aforementioned criteria and I fail to believe Weir's claim that he was top of the list.
  5. So our primary criteria for a new manager revolved around Gannonesque contacts down south. Stuart McCall was 1st choice for the job. Penny for the thoughts of Derek Weir tonight.
  6. Is Eremenko no back? Not much scope for change but I imagine McCall may be forced into a couple of changes as there will be a few heavy legs after Sunday. Hope we stick with the 3 man midfield but a vast improvement is required from Humphrey and Murphy in terms of supporting Sutton.
  7. I'm no a big fan of loan deals but we need a solid squad capable of getting a top 6 finish. Failure to do that would further fuck up our budget next season. A season in which 3 teams may well be relegated.
  8. Get big Iwelumo in on loan. Meanwhile, Bristol City looking to bring in a striker, probably Andy Keogh. Clarky still warming the bench down there?
  9. If that is the case we need two strikers in.
  10. As has been said before, Brown well and truly had the wool pulled over his eyes.
  11. Because nobody will take him.

    Tactics

Hammell was the best left back on the park yesterday. I'm not entirely convinced with McCall but he had us set up very well yesterday. If we had quality in a couple of key positions we would have done Rangers. Much better Motherwell squads have been hammered by Rangers on a regular basis.
  13. So much for his agent willing to pay off his contract eh?
  14. If Murphy is on his way out then he didn't cover himself in glory today. I like him a lot but he would be daft to leave just now, still got a lot of learning to do. If McCall can bring in a decent striker then we have a chance of getting back to Hampden this year. A right back with decent distribution would be handy too...

    Rangers

Good performance from Hammell while Jennings and Lasley carried us with little help from Humphrey and Murphy. Jennings just shades Lasley for me, he has the ability to dictate a game.
  16. Sign Porter before Sunday and expectations would rise considerably. I thought he was back in the frame at Derby though?
  17. IIRC, we all had juvenile tickets last time round and just stormed in on mass. I may be completely wrong though. Vague memories.
  18. As I started my journey to Paris, I'll always remember a Scotrail twat at Motherwell station slagging us for going to watch us getting humped by the French. From that moment on, I had a daft feeling that something special might happen. Would loved to have met that c**t on the way back.
  19. We need to get McGhee back Melvin so you have something to get your teeth into. I've not been far off your position in recent months but the Cup(s) have kept me going. If you were to seas busloads of 'Well fans departing the town on Sunday, would that no tug at your heart a wee bit?
  20. Cadamatari is pish for fuck sake.
  21. Was hoping for a rumour or two today to give us a boost ahead of Sunday.
  22. The staff at FP are far from lazy but there has been something missing from the ticket sales 'drive'. Opportunities to see Motherwell are special occassion which are few and far between. For whatever reason however, the sense of anticipation hasn't materialised for most folks this time round. As long as the players are fired up for it, that'll do me.
  23. We lack some genuine quality and pace. Unless McCall gets the opportunity to bring in a couple of quality players we will struggle away from home more often than not. Hopefully we can rise to the occassion on Sunday.
  24. Wouldn't touch Stewart with a barge pole, he'd ruin any spirit in the dressing room.
