  1. Hibs lining up Stevie Thompson after missing out on Adam Rooney. Thought he might have been on Motherwell's radar.
  2. Unless the deal is all but done and dusted, I imagine Motherwell won't be best pleased about this being linked to the media. Rotherham may be looking to offload him for a few quid this month.
  3. Could really do with the club trying to build some momentum and start pushing ticket sales. Excitement is starting to kick in for me.
  4. Fingers and toes crossed that his injury woes are behind him. Big test for him at Hampden next week. I've really liked the look of him since Gannon arrived but don't want to get carried away.
  5. Absolute fucking shambles of a fucking football club...
  6. Stephen Hughes was a class apart. Sure his form dipped in his 2nd season and he went missing in games but there aren't many creative players in Scotland where you get high levels of consistency. I'd take him back in an instant. With Jennings doing all the donkey work he would be dynamite. It's been a while since we have had a midfielder that can play with his head up. Murphy & Humphrey would reap the rewards of his invention. Long shot though...
  7. Loan deals scunner me but there isn't much else kicking about this time of year. Just hope McCall has the scope to bring in 1 or 2 quality pre-contracts in the summer. Listening to him on the radio tonight, it worries me a bit that he doesn't see the right back slot as an issue.
  8. Always fancied Healy at Fir Park after hearing the NI fans belt it out at Hampden. Supposedly playing for Sunderland reserves at Gateshead tonight. A loan move to the SPL, may well not be out the question.
  9. Really good player for Motherwell, like they way he goes about his game but FFS if Rangers are genuinely interested in him, there's another nail in the coffin of Scottish fitba.
  10. Got a text to say Craigan was doing his token stint on Talksport there, saying that the players are fed up with the league. So why the fuck are fans going to bother? I'm in the same boat as Juan, Cups and Scotland for me.
  11. Stevie Thompson been mentioned? While talking of Burnley players, if Kevin McDonald were to be available for loan again he would surely be worth a shout.
  12. Fans of all clubs need to come together and boycott a full weekend of SPL football. It's the only way we can try and stop this pish going ahead.
  13. That's fine if that's the case. I was in by no means having a dig at her. I was more concerned that her duties had diminished somewhat as she hadn't been in the public eye for a while.
  14. Where has Leeann Dempster been in recent months? Until the arrival of Derek Weir she appeared to be at the forefront of everything the club was doing. She communicated well with the fans, set out our intentions with regards to tieing up the futures of our young prospects and was at the centre of every transfer/contract negotiation. From the outside, she doesn't appear to have such influence at the moment. It is becoming easier to understand why Broon jumped ship.
  15. TV has surely been the biggest killer of all with the aforementioned two not too far behind.
  16. Would Reynolds have been too old for us not to get any compensation at the end of the season? Disappointing that McCall says that he won't get to spend any of the Reynolds money. I know belts need to be tightened but we have shown fuck all ambition since Gannon was punted.
  17. Nah, with a packed midfield Craigan would need to launch any long balls. Your man Humphrey has been well and truly sussed out.
  18. I'd drop Humphrey for a couple of games and get Hateley and Forbes in alongside Jennings and Lasley. Time to flood the midfield, make us hard to beat and focus on keeping possession.
  19. Think he still lives in America so I doubt it thankfully.
  20. Sounds like a bit of a prospect. Would be nice to see a permanent signing before the end of January though.
  21. This is a concern for me. McCall need his own man in there to take training while he can focus his attention on chasing new recruits. Judging by our lacklustre players over the last month, the players have been missing the presence and guidance of Knox more than anything. You would like to think McCall came to Motherwell with a 2-3 yearplan for the club. A plan that would naturally encompass his preferences for coaching staff.
  22. Fully agree with yourself and Sieb. Dilemma for me is whether he would be best suited to a sitting midfield role in tandem with a workhorse or playing behind the striker(s). I know he has relatively poor fitness and struggles in wider position but FFS, for anyone to say he has no talent doesn't have a clue about fitba.
  23. Agreed Andy. If it wasn't for our cup 'prospects' I'd be quite content to go with what we have until the end of the season and put our existing budget towards funding a couple of good pre-contract deals. Given that we we are sitting in a good position in both cups however, we surely need to show some ambition. Since our criteria for a new manager was heavily focused on contacts down south, I assume that 1) McCall has good contacts and 2) there is a suitable budget to take advantage of such contacts.
