Time after time we have collapsed at Ibrox over the past 10 years. I don't see it happening under Brown, albeit a heavy legged Craigan could be a concern. Reckon Rangers will go away with a flattering 3-1 victory in a hard fought game.

Yaas. How come my commentary is a wee bit behind? Gow made a difference. Well done Murphy.
-
Get right in there. Sounds completely undeserved. Haud on.
-
Tough game in prospect should we struggle to break them down early doors but this is the type of game we should be winning if we have aspirations of a top 4 finish. Hoping Murphy will run riot.

Even if returning to Scotland was an option, plenty of Championship clubs would chasing him. He was an absolute stand out under Coyle. For the sake of Scotland, I really hope he can get his career back on track. A move to the likes of Norwich would do very nicely indeed.

Watched that over and over again. Would have been a sublime goal.

With Fatcalf on this one, our downfall at home has been our tendancy to sitback on a lead.
-
Fucking delightful result. Fully expected us to win today given our style of play. The really pleasing thing though is the nature of our win. Usually we sit on a 1st half lead but it's really pleasing to go out and win the 2nd half. Canny whack a win against the Jambos. Lets see if we can get our home form sorted now.

We were playing the long ball last season. The difference was that we had Jutkiewicz up top who was phenomenal at holding the ball up. His ability allowed us to bring the midfield into the game further up the park and we were capable of playing some pretty incisive stuff at times. Unless we change our style of playing I reckon that we will struggle to break teams down at FP this season. Should we persist with the long ball tactics though, we really need to make the most of set pieces. For that reason, it was encouraging to see Page convert 2 corners on Tuesday night. While it's not the best to watch I'm fairly content to go along with what we have if it puts us in the hunt for a decent cup run. The one thing with Brown & Know offer is that we are capable of matching up to anyone on our day.

Much from Forbes last night? According to the official, he was playing behind Gow in a 4231 formation. Delighted to see he is getting the opportunity to play behind a striker albeit Gow is never a lone striker. If anything I think him and Forbes should be battling it out for the same position...

Fully back the idea to rest Murphy tonight. Slightly surprised that Humphrey hasn't been rested as well. Could really do with Gow and Forbes putting on a show tonight.

Writing has been on the wall for me since the final 60 minutes of the game against that Norwegian mob. Plenty of effort, commitment and well organised when we don't have the ball but we don't possess any craft or guile to make us a decent team to watch. Unless Gow or Forbes gets the opportunity to make an impact there won't be many good games at FP this season. We have good direct players with plenty of pace in Blackman, Murphy and Humphrey but we have nobody to pull the strings and play these guys in. On the plus side we are more suited to counter attacking football and I think we may pick up more points on the road this season that we do at FP. Also think that while we may struggle to break teams in a run of the mill game at home I think we have the attributes to maybe upset the OF once or twice this season and go on a cup run.

£22 for an adult and 3 kids this weekend. Tremendous value. I hope the message is communicated well to families and schools throughout the area. Quite looking forward to the game, reckon it may end in a 2-2 draw though. Hopefully Gow gets the opportunity to make an impression.

Our tactics aren't too different from Scotland's.

Craigan would never have got near the Scotland team and deservedly so imo. I'm amazed by what he has achieved with NI over the years given that they have had a decent centre half or two from time to time.
-
Leave Murphy up front for 90 minutes and he will be fine. The boy is not a wide player and is only getting knackered because he has to constantly run back and plug gaps. He had no bother lasting the 90 minutes when we beat Hibs 1-0 in Feb/March. He never gave their defence a moments rest that day.
-
There is no other Scottish defencder on the same level as Davie Weir. If Broadfoot was playing for Motherwell, he would be a standout performer. I like Reynolds and think he may have an international future but it won't be at centre half. He needs to show that he is capble of playing left back or just in front of the defence. Think he would have benefited greatly if he had continued to work under a mentally stable Jim Gannon.

Dorrans must be a shoe-in for a start.
-
I'm a big fan of Hammell and feel he is generally underrated by Motherwell fans but he didn't kick on enough with his career to nail a Scotland call-up. To be honest I think he has been content playing at the level he has over the years. When he looks back on his career however, he may regret not pushing himself a wee bit further. He definately had the ability to make it at a higher level.

Talk of dropping Humphrey is madness. Humphrey is the type of player that will benefit from the intelligence of Gow. When everyone is fit, Gow will be in for Hateley or Lasley imo.
-
Delighted to have brought in a player with quality and pedigree. If we are going to success from him, he needs to play through the middle imo. Would have been nicer to get him on a longer contract but I'll settle for the fact that I believe we have a player that will make watching Motherwell a more pleasant experience.
-
Murphy will always be best at playing right up top. He is a clinical finisher and leads the line perfectly well for Scotland Under 21s.
-
Poor show from Motherwell. I'm sure we will bob up along just fine in the league under the stewardship of Brown & Knox but I'm depressed by the sheer lack of quality in the squad. Despite having some poor teams over the years, we have been blessed with some really good attacking options over the piece. Murphy apart, we don't appear to have much to get excited about at the moment. And my fear for him is that he is going to have to play out of position to cover the shortcoming so fthe squad. Really hope the likes of Forbes, Pollock, Page and hopefully Hutchison are given the opportuntiy to break through now.

Shite season on the horizon. I imagine a few clubs are maybe holding back with signings given the distinct possibility that there will be no relegation this season.

Fair do's. I only take an interest in Man United but given that they are bang on 25 I'm surprised with some of they figures.
