  1. I'd change the team slightly from the one that beat the Norwegians. ................Randolph Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell ...........Hateley Jennings ......Humphrey Forbes Sutton ..................Murphy Every so often Hibs come to FP and blow us away. Got a feeling that Sunday will be one of they days. However, if we can win the midfield battle, the Hibs defence is there for the taking.
  2. We need to get away from the obsession of size. If the Morrocan boy is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can start attacks in a similar manner to Hammell, then get him signed up.
  3. I'm all for given youth a chance but we are in desperate need of a couple of players. I rate Murphy extremely highly but he isn't experienced or strong enough yet to hold the ball up the park in the manner Juke did last season. On top of that, we need a bit of creativity from midfield or out wide. While we won 3-0 last week it was clear to see that we are poor at retaining possession. If the money isn't there then fair enough but why weren't we given this message at the start of the summer. Instead, Brown told us that he had offered contarcts to 2 SPL players. Where has that money gone? And what about the 2 or 3 players that were practically lined up should we progress in Europe? Still nothing. I fully appreciate that funds are tighter than ever but if we narrowly miss out on a lucrative windfall from the group stages, then questions must be asked of how the club is being run.
  4. I'll be pretty scunnered if we don't have anybody in before the European deadline. We are 1 or 2 players away from having a team that should be able to give Odense a close run for their money.
  5. Sums things up at the club. Far from inspiring. £100k will come in handy though.
  6. Commsworld was mentioned on FPC a week ago. Doesn't really tie in with Dempster's chat though.
  7. Champions League format these days Finlay.
  8. Interested to see if the club respond to this. The decision completely goes against what they have been bleating out to the fans and media.
  9. Maybe they will save money by not having to open the South Stand?
  10. While we are well aware that it costs in excess of £20 to get into an SPL away game, it would have been nice to have seen the club thank the fans for turning up in their numbers in the last round, particularly when many are forking out on new strips, season tickets, away trips etc. If we had kept the prices at £15 and were in with a shout after the first leg I reckon we would have been very close to an attendance of 10,000. Very little chance of that now. No concession price for pensioners or students either? PR blunder.
  11. Disagree with that, just about every Motherwell and Dundee United fan will have the opportunity to see their team at home. Much fairer to broadcast the away legs.
  12. Pretty shite if the BBC don't screen our away leg and likewise with Dundee United should they be in contention come the 2nd leg. Or will we pay the price for Celtic dropping into the same competition?
  13. Is Pollock looking the real deal then? Capable of making an impression on the 1st team this season?
  14. Are we talking Jamie McCluskey former Hibs winger?
  15. It's probably been mentioned earlier in this thread but I wasn't aware that Hibs played Odense in the 2006 Interdiddy cup. No idea how much Odense have improved since then but my Hibs mate says there wasn't much between the teams. Hibs went out on away goals.
  16. Halsman scored in a 3-1 victory today over East Stirling to open the league campaign with 3 points.
  17. Given our constraints, getting us to this stage of Europe has been a tremendous achievement by Brown, Knox, Young and the players. I'd like to think they will be rewarded with a couple of signings. While the Odense match will not be the money spinner Boyle may have been looking for the financial incentive on offer to beat this mob is greater than anything we have ever played for. Time for Dempster and Boyle to pull the strings.
  18. So we don't get divided into pots tonight I take it?
  19. You'll get a ticket for the South Stand.
  20. Nah, now wheesht. Lets focus on the job in hand.
  21. I'm no scared to have a dig at the club but the ticket office has improved dramatically in recent years. Tweed pretty much hit the nail on the head.
  22. It's the apparent backtracking that concerns me. I'm pretty sure Brown was given his budget at the end of May but the goalposts appears to have moved since then on a number of occassions.
