  1. While far from priority, a box to box midfielder would be nice. Could do with a bit of creativity and goal threat from the role Lasley is currently playing in.
  2. For the majority of the season, I expect Humphrey to be an impact player, coming on with 20-30 minutes to go and causing havoc with his pace. At some point I'd like to think he will have a purple patch like most wingers and CB will have no option but to give him a starting berth for a few weeks. If he continues to work hard, he has the potential to be an Ivan Sproule type player. Like Sproule however, I doubt he will ever offer a degree of consistency.
  3. Wee buzz about the place when I went for tickets just before lunchtime. Queue must have been about 20 deep and there was a steady stream of fans continuing to turn up when I departed.
  4. International week before the SPL kicks off then the playoff round takes place the following 2 Thursdays. Draw next Friday.
  5. Just looking at the starting lineup from that Hibs game, there wasn't much dig about the midfield was there. Attack, attack, attack.
  6. I don't think it could get much bigger than taking 5k+ 'Well fans to Anfield.
  7. Woods will never be forgiven for that. Didn't want to go to School for a week after that.
  8. Deligthed for Murphy. Looked a class act when he first came into the team and has showed signs of brilliance since for Motherwell & Scotland under 21s. Such a composed finisher. Fingers crossed he can have a really good season and show that he is one of Scotland's finest talents.
  9. It's going to be a tense affair next week. Delighted with the away goal but that injury time pen is going to give them a massive boost. If we happen to lose a goal at FP when the game is in the balance then it is advantage to the Norwegians. Hopefully though we are capable of dealing with the pressue and have a right good go at them. I still have no idea how good they are. Will be interesting to hear the thoughts of those who travelled. Hopefully Sutton & Forbes are ok.
  10. This is fucking shite being stuck at work. 'Mon the 'Well.
  11. Seems to be the case. Bit of a scunner as I'll be driving home from work for the duration of the 1st half. Listening to the post-match coverage last thursday, it seemed pretty certain that BBC Scotland would be sending out a commentary team.
  12. Would love Hartley at FP if he wasn't breaking the bank. He could do a job in the SPL for anyone, Rangers included.
  13. I'm sure I've seen this phrase on here before.
  14. My auld man has never managed to get over that. Still mentions it anytime he hears DJ on Clyde.
  15. Nothing would be wrong with a 2-1 away defeat in Europe. Far more realistic than your gayness.
  16. Got to agree with these sentiments. Yes money is tight but given the financial reward on offer, questions will be asked if we lose to this Norwegian mob. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that.
  17. Think a lot depends on our ability to keep possession and prevent crosses coming intot he box. if we can take the sting out the game their is every chance Murphy or Forbes may work their magic. Would take a 2-1 defeat right now.
  18. +1. Fine career ahead of him. Privilege to have him at Fir Park last season.
  19. Did he no score all 4? Sauzee was in charge of Hibs at the time. Mind go to Ibrox the following week thinking Ferrere was going to destroy them. The Flask got sent off on a wet and dismal night at Rugby Park.

For me, the main factor for the disinterest in Scottish football is the relation between the quality of football and ticket prices. I'm concerned that clubs are continuing to piss against the wind by 'investing' in loan players and journeymen. For instance, Aberdeen chasing Lee Hendrie when they have some of the best kids in the country. When funds are so tight why no bite the bullet and be upfront with the fans that it's in the clubs' interest to go with the youth. In return, ticket prices will be adjusted to reflected the reduction in the annual wage bill. If the likes of us and Killie were to do it, I'm confident that Accies, St Mirren, St Johnstone, ICT and Dundee United would follow suit. I'd much prefer to pay a tenner a week to see emerging talent from around the country. And once we start producing these players again, the profile of Scottish football will gradually grow.

What was his natural position Maxi? Given the experience Reynolds has gained, I'd love to have seen the pair of them play together over the course of a season. Unlikely to happen now though...

He looked like a textbook centre half at the beginning of last season. Just got to hope he is fully recovered from his injury woes. If he has he will get a chance soon enough.
