Must admit I've always been a big fan of his but was surprised to read the praise on here after last night.
He put in a steady performance but I think he is better playing slightly deeper. He will no doubt put in a tremendous contribution over the course of the season but we could do with a more athletic box to box midfielder to compliment Jennings & Forbes.
Few solid performances, Jennings wins my motm though. He's the one that holds the team together. Noteable shouts for Reynolds and Hammell.
Re Forbes, sometimes I wonder what folk look for in a footballer.
Arguably the most gifted player at the club just now. Offered great delivery last night and showed good composure on the ball. If we build the team around him he has the potential to be one of the best players in the SPL.
So some folk thought Forbes was terrible?
We wouldn't have won the game without him. Aye he doesn't have a change of pace and can't track back but he was by far our most dangerous player going forward.
Thought it was a decent performance last night given how far we are in the middle of July. Confident that getting another few training sessions under our belt will make a telling difference next week.
If you have a look on the Hibs website you will see what they recently released. Imagine we will be getting similar to them.
Saw the Spurs players wearing a cracking training shirt at the weekend but I think that may well be part of some premium range.
I'd be surprised if there is much more than 4,000 at the game.
0-0 wouldn't be the worst result in the world. Think we will be in far better shape come the 2nd leg. Main concern is the lack of creativity.
I was starting to get all excited about the new season.
This has been a timely reminder as to why the game is utterly fucked.
You would probably have got 3,000 Hibs fans through if the game was 3pm on the Saturday. Lucky if we get much over 5,000 in total now.
One live game per week plus a good highlights package should be more than suffice for the SPL.
What kind of money do you think Dailly was on at Charlton?
Yet to return to training, Charlton battling to keep him.
Brown obviously spoke to him a week or so ago with regards Randolph!?
Aye given he knocked back 15k a week I doubt we have a chance.
Sounds like an admin cockup by Everton albeit you could argue the boy has done a Paul Slane on them. Imagine he will end up at Newcastle. Had been linked with Man United but they wouldn't want to be seen to be doing the dirty on Everton.
Another outwith our budget but Paul Hartley seems keen on a return to Scotland.
