  1. I'm disappointed that Fitzpatrick picked up an injury. I think he would have been a stick-on to start against Rangers to try and combat the threat of Davis and Whittaker. Generally speaking, i rate Fitzpatrick quite highly, when played in the right postion he does a lot of terrific work for the team and runs himself into the ground. He knows how close down space and break up play in a similar manner to the role Flecther used to play for United. And while he will never be an attacking midfielder he does have a habit of timing a late run into the box. With a bit of composure in front of goal, he could net a few per season.
  2. Forbes looked like a class act in the early part of the season. His eye for a pass and a strike at goal are rare assets in Scottish football these days. While I'm disappointed at how his season has faded, I think we just need to be patient with him and we will see him regain his confidence. With regards fitness, I'd like to think that will come with time as he physically develops. I remember when Gerrard was starting out at Liverpool, everyone could see he was a class act but there were major doubts over his stamina. Furthermore, it seems likely that he suffers from asthma. His body will adjust in time to deal with the demands of playing week in week out. I have every confidence that Craig Brown will get the best out of him next season and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up building our team around him.
  3. Put O'Brien wide left, tuck Jennings n on the right and have Lasley/Code in the middle.
  4. No big fan of Woods but Meldrum was a worse keeper for me.
  5. Scott Leitch was vastly overrated imo.
  6. Skippy still had a year left on his contract didn't he so we were in a strong bargaining postion. We should have held out for an offer in excess of a million come the summer.
  7. Aye, along with the Skippy confirmation.
  8. With Miller's move to Boro confirmed, i'm getting a wee bit nervous.
  9. I still have a lot of affection for the guy so I hope he wasn't forced into it. For me, Boro are going nowhere under Strachan. Thought Skippy was good enough for the likes of Wigan.
  10. Given that Celtic are going to have Fortune, Samaras, Skippy, Keane, Kamara and Big Dunc in their ranks, I wonder if we could get a striker on loan
  11. Thought of Aberdeen going after Clarkson crossed my mind yesterday. Hope it's nothing more than folk jumping to conclusions.
  12. I love Lasley but I like Jennings too.
  13. Fair shout, think that's what Hateley will be hoping for. And he would certainly offer some composure on the ball in the absence of Coke. I just don't have much faith in Saunders at right back though.
  14. Can't really complain with Coke's sending off but we have seen plenty players get away with it, particularly in that area of th efield. Thought we huffed and puffed our way to a point. 3 points were there for the taking despite the sending off but we lacked a wee bit of guile in the final third.
  15. Would take a point the now. Jennings in for Coke. Murphy and Juke upfront.
  16. Is Archdeacon still about? My hope for next season is that Murphy, Forbes and Hutchison can cement a regular first team berth with maybe the likes of Pollock and McHugh making an impression.

    Falkirk

Watched the game on Alba last night. Reynolds by a distance. Pace, composure and great reading of the game.

    Faddy

He'll maybe come back in search of first team football to cement his place in the Scotland World Cup Squad 2018. On a serious note, I'm no sure if I'd want him back. He provided us more than enough fond memories to last us a lifetime.
  19. I don't think we can afford to go with 2 out and out wingers so I'd keep Forbes in the team. He's doing a decent job in there helping us retain the ball. Conundrum for me is who you leave out from the strikeforce as you can't fit Murphy, Juke and Sutton into the same team.
  20. I wouldn't grudge O'Brien a move to Hearts. While he is far from a great player, he is a very good SPL player and deserves a move that will see him earn more cash and see him play in front of better crowds.
  21. I'd fucking love to get him signed permanently. Oozes class and appears to have a top notch attitude.
  22. You are spot on Milo to draw a comparison with McCarthy. Sadly, we will no doubt roll over yet again.
