  1. Hibs have been monitoring the Stokes situation ever since Hughes arrived. Reckon they will go for him if Benji departs. Stokes is on big money though. I imagine our signing target will be an Everton or Liverpool youth.
  2. I cetainly hope so. He would be fantastic for us.
  3. Agreed. Some real lows during that year but it was worth it. While I don't think we are in danger of finisg bottom of the pile this year, I sense a similar season it terms of losing games that we deserve to win, while there will be weeks where the young guns just fail to turn up.
  4. I'd be delighted to see that starting lineup but would want to see O'Brien playing wide right and Sutton in behind Murphy.
  5. I agree mate so would you then go with just Coke and Forbes in the midfield? I'd be tempted to go with that but it does leave our somewhat insecure defence open to greater pressure.
  6. There was a consensus going round that Killie would struggle this season due to their financial woes. At the end of the day though, they are one of the few teams in the league who have not been weakened over the summer. Too early to be predicting a starting lineup but on the back of Saturday I'd be looking to move Reynolds to left back and maybe put Jennings in midfield. Most importanly however, Gannon needs to work out he can accomodate Murphy in a central role.
  7. In for a tenner nae bother yesterday.
  8. Its going to be a rollercoaster of a season. Murphy for me. He needs to be playing up front though. He looked a completely different player in the 2nd half.
  9. Since I've started watching the 'Well, I'd say only Tommy McLean, the 91 team and James McFadden merit such status.

    Canterbury

Matches up to the description I was given a few weeks back. Belter!
  11. I have been looking forward to this game for weeks but last night's disappointment in OSlo has put me on a bit of a downer. Hopefully I'm in a far better mood when I'm driving back down the road on Saturday night. St Johnstone have had a very decent pre-season so a 2-2 draw wouldn't be a disaster. Just hope its an entertaining affair.
  12. Did he sign for Accies last season? http://www.hamiltonadvertiser.co.uk/hamilt...51525-21353961/ Sounds like he may offer cover in defence as well as midfield.
  13. Gamble is a very decent player IIRC. He was apparently on good money at Cork, £2500 a week, but they have financial trouble. I don't see him and Jennings palying in the same team though.
  14. Mind Dundee wanted Faddy Its just a matter of time before it goes tits up for them. Hammell is one of our best players.
  15. Pretty astounded that there was no tribute last night.
  16. Almost impossible to pick a man of the match. Hutchison is a real find. Hammell was back to his best, Reynolds a revelation in midfield, Forbes & Coke class, Sutton like a new signing.
  17. Proud as punch of the boys the night. Full credit to Gannon and the players. We showed in the 1st half just how good we can be. I thought Coke, Hutchison, Hammell & Reynolds were outstanding. Canny wait for Perth.
  18. If Killie were looking to sell Bryson I'm sure they would be touting him about and there would be plenty of takers.
  19. I don't think Steaua are quite as good as some folk think. Competent outfit aye, but not much more imo. O'Brien and Murphy start and have a right good go at them. Thats all we can ask for. 'Mon the fcukin 'Well...
  20. Is he more of a right back than a left back mate?
  21. Whats going on at the Accies? Are they serious about reinvesting some of the McCarthy money? First and foremost, Murphy better no be going anywhere. Secondly, if Bryson is available. I'd love to se us make a move. Doubt it mind you but he is a fine midfielder...

    Reynolds

Taking last Thursday out the equation, i think Reynolds looks like he has rekindled his old form since Gannon has arrived. I'm interested to see where Reynolds plays this season. If it wasn't for the emergence of Forbes, i think we would have seen Mark lining up in front of the defence. Gannon seems to be keen on him driving forward with the ball. Personally, I think his finest attribute is his ability to read the game and I think he will be a tremendous asset this season.
  23. Chris Porter, he had just about everything you needed.
