Considering Mowbray has an eye for youth with signings such as Dorrans at WBA, it wouldn't completely surprise me. He also bought Fortune on the back of his performance for Nanct at FP and IIRC, Murphy wa sour only shining light that night. More than likely to be a rumour but it is plausible. Massive season beckons for Murphy, his performance the other night was a slight cause for concern.

I'm somewhat apprehensive about the imminent arrival of players at Fir Park. Obviously we need to bring in loads of players but such change failed drastically under Davies and Kampman. Gannon has a tough job in his hands but I just hope he appreciates it is important a Scottish/Motherwell identity about the club as opposed to flooding us with an abundance of lower league English players who may or may not settle into the SPL.

Cheers for that SuperSteelmen. They were the fcuking days. Best month ever for supporting the 'Well. Just wish I had been a few years older. I wasn't wise enough to appreciate just how special it was.

Realistic Scores For Away Legg < See What I Did There?
Lobey_Dosser replied to jonnymfc's topic in Club Chat
Regardless of tactics we will stroll this but it will be a much smoother ride if we get Murphy playing alongside Sutton. I understand JG believes in a 4-2-3-1 but we don't have a striker to spearhead such a formation. Murphy looked desperately short of sharpness so lets hope another week of training pays dividends. I'd also start Darren Smith. Tempted to leave Slane on the bench as that mob would look to crunch him in the 1st five minutes. -
Yes they do. Mine had catches before it was put through the wash.

Resigned myself to the fact we were losing him a while back but really hope he does the business down there. The boy has the physical atrributes, talent and mentality to do well for himself. In return I assume we have received a tidy fee which is credit to Quinn. How much are we talking though? With Roscoe and the Coltness Cafu in their ranks, I hope Cardiff can make a right push for the promotion this year.

Was Last Night 'well's Worst Ever Result ?
Lobey_Dosser replied to trafficlight's topic in Club Chat
Many a Scottish Cup defeat have been worse than last night. -
If Coach keeps his head screwed on, he will scale greater heights than Clarkson.

Folk are being a bit too critical are they not!? We are just over a week into pre-season. Fair do's, Llanelli are pobably the pishest outfit I have seen Motherwell play in a 'competitive' game but we wouldn't be reading anything into this if it was a friendlly. I'm confident Gannon has not underestimated the scale of the job and will bring in players of the required calibre.

Today is the first time I've had the top on and after a close inspection I'm far from chuffed with the quality of the shirt. The bottom section at the back seems bobbled to fuck. And I've now clocked on to why folk have been comparing it to a Spanish fake. Poor show.

Find it hard to get too upset about tonights performance. As anticipated it was little more than a friendly. Early on, I thought we were going to run up a cricket score but it never quite materialised. Nevertheless, I'm pretty happy with the performances of Forbes and Slane in particular. No one else however really done themselves justice and I'm somewhat concerned that Jamie Murphy may end up going backwards. Meanwhile, Sutton has little future at the club if we are going to be playing 4-2-3-1. Looking ahead to next week, if we want to win, we will win.

Slane by a mile. More than just the speed merchant that I was led to believe he was. Think Forbes could prosper into a fine midfielder with the right players around him. The more established names let us down tonight.

Hopefully Gannon gets asked about the out of contract players at the press conference.
-
Think I've decided against going. Not 100% sure though. Hopefully we have the tie wrapped up on Thursday.
-
Must admit that while I'm sad to see him go, I'm far from gutted. Good piece of business for us when you think we have lost Skippy, Roscoe & Porter in recent times for less money. Best of luck to you Clarky. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to cheer you on while wearing the dark blue shirt.

I don't know why some of you find it annoying. I think it will be hilarious if McGhee misses out on him and Hughes. With regards Klimpl, he is a decent player, a destroyer in the middle of the park. Was out injured for his 1st 4 months or so before playing. He started off in defence where he was woeful and quickly moved to midfield, where he received 'cult hero' status in some quarters for his no nonsense attitude. As well as kicking anything and everything he is actually quite comfortable with the ball at his feet, his form did tail off however. Good guy to have in your team but I think the likes of Cardiff can do so much better.

I missed Dave Jones on SSN earlier due to my mid morning kip. However there seems to be some chat about him and the West Brom job. Wonder if I will slow down Quinn's move.
-
Pretty ridiculous if this proves to be case across the board. The beauty of football shirts is that you can get a good few years of wear out them.
-
My thoughts exatly. I imagine we would have offered him in the region of £1250-£1500pw. Don't really see the value in heading to a team that is going nowhere.
-
So Buzz is apparently on the verge of signing for the mighty Brighton on a £2,000 a week contract. Not the most mouthwatering of prospects. Wonder if he regrets turning his back on us!?
-
Charlie, did Warren Feeney play unde Gannon? Heard a wee rumour today but I wouldn't be surprised if its just someone putting 2 and 2 together. Best of luck down your way, hopefully you come through the current debacle and end up stronger.

We will be doing well to get more than 3500. Plenty folk will either be away on holiday or on the verge of heading away. And in the eyes of some fans, the game is far from a big deal. Quite looking forward to Thursday mind you, hopefully see a few youngsters that may be capable of making an impact this season. As for the bus Andy, I'm just going to go through in the motor with the auld man, saves any hassle getting back to my house.
