  1. Cheers, I now remember this spat. I did wonder what how the value of accreditation would be perceived by employers. Steelboys point on contractors may be a reason for bodyswerving the accreditation process.
  2. Yeah interesting line on best paid players, presumably the Board or Burrows have provided that information. Must have been a very decent offer when you consider the likes of Porter, Hughes, Law and Randolph were presumably on very decent money (albeit a fair chunk of that would be down to bonuses for the latter 2).
  3. No sure I would go that far but from the snippets Ive heard third hand, I get the impression a deal was all but agreed after the semi.
  4. Agreed but its the way the game has gone. When listening to various pundits reviewing such decisions, the consensus seems to be if a defender gives the referee a decision to make, then he is entitled to award a soft pen.
  5. No doubt that was a pen, the stupidity of Lovern deserved to be punished.
  6. Id hope so, nowhere near productive enough imo. We have better players to build the team around.
  7. We dont have a good recent record at Firhill do we? Struggling to think of a good performance other than the Faddy inspired 5-1one Christmas. Id like to see us switch approach and give more game time to our ball players as Robinson would put it. Depending on the scale of our injury situation, we should see much more of Bigi, Tanner, Frear, Grimshaw, MacLean and Dimi in the coming weeks. Time to go 4231 or 433 and try and play through teams with decent movement.
  8. When we do replace Moult, I hope its with a striker that can play upfront on his own. This would fit better with our current midfield and wide options.
  9. According to radio, we had no quality on ball which is hardly surprising when you see lineup.
  10. Sounded like another shitfest. Looking at our starting midfield, we had no intention of exploiting their weaknesses. Having said that, we are always going to struggle without Carson, Hartley, Cadden and Moult. Tough few weeks ahead.
  11. I think the sale of Moult in Jan will hinge on how many points we are clear of 11th position at the end of this month. Get to 30 points and well probably accept a tempting offer.
  12. Are Hearts (and possibly now Celtic?) not the only team in the league committed to the living wage at present?
  13. Very bad news on the injury front that despite our squad depth, could see us exposed during a very busy month. On the plus side, it presents an opportunity to put McHugh in the backline. Wonder if well see Louis play for us again...
  14. Wouldnt be surprised if they lose to Hibs this weekend, well off colour. The cup final was a helluva chance for us.
  15. For all the criticism, if Hearts win on Sat they are within 2 points of us. December is a huge month, win 3 from the next 6 and we can head into the January break knowing we are within touching distance of reaching our primary objective in securing safety. Been a wee while since we last won at Tynecastle (Jan 14?) but if we are right up for it, this promises to be a tasty one. Its hard to second guess how Robinson will lineup but if we stick with a back 4, Id like to see Cadden and Frear out wide with Tanner supporting Moult.
  16. Disappointing end to the week, particularly when you look at the players missing from Celtics starting lineup. Strange setup from us though which again had us making 2 subs at ht. its great to have a competitive squad and tactical flexibility but this week suggests Robinson doesnt know what his best midfield is.
  17. Yeah after seeing Suttons tweet, I can see why it was given. Neither pen decision is as clearcut as they initially looked, hence the split in opinion for each decision.
  18. No need to issue a statement imo but appreciate the club are under pressure to apphease a particular cohort of our support.
  19. Robinson and Burrows have played it perfectly once again, showing real maturity and a touch of class despite the raw emotion. This is in stark contrast to the likes of Lennon who once again lost the plot on Saturday regarding Accies physical approach. While Im sure our grievances will be aired through the appropriate channels, other clubs will be looking on in admiration at how we are conducting ourselves in public. Heres hoping we can get the 3 points on Saturday that our efforts deserves.
  20. Incompetent but the lack of talent isnt limited to Scottish football. The sooner VAR is introduced the better.
  21. Rangers have retained numerous titles that were gained via financial doping. The consensus amongst spfl clubs was to move on when Rangers lost the latest HMRC case. If you dont want to follow the sport because its corrupt, then that was the time to call it a day.
  22. Referees are incompetent not corrupt. Reckon we have a chance here and Ill hopefully get to this after missing tonight. Celtics game with Anderlecht on Tuesday will influence their lineup and could lead to a couple of key absentees.
  23. Both are dives but the argument from all including Faddy, is that contact was made and ultimately thats all it takes. I still dont believe it was a pen on Sunday but now understand that under the new rules, once a decision has been made to give a pen, the ref had no option but to send Kipre off due to the nature of the foul i.e there was no attempt to play the ball.
  24. The full Radio Scotland panel (Miller, Faddy, Gordon, Dodds and Bonner) who believe the Kipre decision on Sunday was soft but correct, all of the opinion that tonight was a mistake.
  25. Only managed to catch the last 25 mins on radio due to work. Sounds like Carson had a blinder. Disappointing that we couldnt bring their unbelievable run to an end but you cant grumble at a point. Credit all round. We go again Saturday.
