  1. Only managed to catch the last 25 mins on radio due to work. Sounds like Carson had a blinder. Disappointing that we couldnt bring their unbelievable run to an end but you cant grumble at a point. Credit all round. We go again Saturday.
  2. Just got round to watching the press conference. Robinson and the club have got this absolutely spot on. There is no point in appealing when the damage has already been done and the pending penalty is minimal. Thankfully the club appear to have learned from the McGhee meltdown when we were chasing various appeals and our season fell apart. We all know Thomson got the pen and red card wrong but theres nothing to gain from appealing, particularly when the SFA have turned a blind eye to Kipres previous misdemeanour. Roll on tomorrow.
  3. Is that definite? Maybe there is a consensus to move on given a retrospective red for his tackle on Dembele would possibly give him a 2-3 league game ban.
  4. Do we honestly think Thomson is a cheat? I think hes incompetent as even if it was a pen, there was no justification for a red. I think hes being wrongly influenced by seeing the Kipre tackle back at ht.
  5. I think I heard that on off he ball too. Ill take either, important for us to kick on in the league now.
  6. Did the winning run not start against us? Think St Johnstone were the last team to beat them. Anyway, Celtic at home on Wed is the perfect game imo. If the players are not mentally and physically fatigued from Sunday, then we have an opportunity to channel our emotions and have a right good go at them. Id keep changes to a minimum but there does need to be a tweak in midfield, bringing in someone that is capable of retaining possession. Expect Roberts, Griffiths and Rogic to start for them which will present a fresh challenge for Hartley & co.
  7. Players will always cheat, its human nature. In game VAR to punish them though could be a partial solution.
  8. Agreed, VAR is the only way to address refereeing incompetence, which is the key issue here.
  9. Ha. I rate this Celtic team but they were far from brilliant today. They were potentially there for the taking but we werent good enough. Thats not a criticism, just an understandable gulf in quality.
  10. Tait was excellent. Carson and Hartley solid. The rest average.
  11. We rode our luck in the semi with regards to refereeing decisions so its hard to get caught up on today imo. Celtic were by far the better team as you would expect and sloppy play for the 1st sealed our fate. Move on to Wednesday with a view to exploiting any complacency.
  12. Done well to get in 0-0 at ht but Celtic lifted it from there. Before the pen the much maligned James Forrest proved the difference, seriously underrated. No complaints, Celtic proved to be a class above as expected. Getting to the final was a fine achievement.
  13. I am a tad surprised with our numbers, around 11.5k max by the looks of it. Understand the reasons though.
  14. Disappointing then if some of the best seats in the house are left empty. Although the numbers suggest the part time h**s have severed all ties with us, which Im absolutely delighted with.
  15. Presumably Celtic have been given the remainder of the south stand top tier?
  16. With Lustig injured and a lack of rb options, I was wondering if theyd go with Forrest as rwb and either Sinclair or Macgregor on left.
  17. Edinburgh derby again is unreal. Tricky draw for us but its one to look forward too. Results at Easter Road and Ibrox show they cant be taken lightly.
  18. The quality of the built-up play and finish for the 2nd goal is outstanding. Heres hoping they can repeat it next week. Moult loves to provide a memorable double against the big teams (Celtic x 2, Rangers, Aberdeen x 2 and Hibs).
  19. From what Ive heard and read, I think weve went with a 4312 that has Dunne at left back and Cadden in the hole. Im looking forward to the highlights. Very positive post-match interview from Robinson with regards the task ahead, so refreshing. Interesting though that Bigis absence was down to competition for places rather than a knock.
  20. Massive result given the fixtures ahead. Well done Motherwell. A day of fine results and we can look forward to next week with confidence.
  21. Few strange choices but there are varying interpretations of what makes a great. Randolph and Boyd are two of the greatest Motherwell players Ive seen who went on to succeed at international level. Imagine McAllister and possibly McLair would have made my list if I were a wee bit older. Anyway, glad to hear it was a good night and a decent whack has went into the WS.
  22. I think this is perfect preparation for the final. A game that will need us fully concentrated and close to our best to get a result. All going well, Id hope to start the next 2 games with the same shape and personel. Slight worry would be Cadden and Campbell coming back leggy from their international exploits as happened against Accies iirc.
  23. See if we require additional tickets, will it be for top tier of south stand?
  24. I dont envy Robinson trying to work out his best shape and personal to at least try and compete with Celtic so Im not going to try. Nevertheless, three of the many things Id want to address are: 1. Our right hand side needs to be strong in numbers to try and prevent being overran by the Tierney, Sinclair and Armstrong. Id like Tait and Cadden on the same wing. We cant leave a gap between the wing back and Kipre. 2. We need to have a balance in the middle of the park. As well as battling with Brown, we need a bit of composure when we have the ball. Id therefore want both Bigi and Campbell in there as part of a 3 man midfield. 3. Celtics one weak spot is at the back, try and get in behind them as much as you can and ensure we can get some quality deliveries into the box. Could do with Frear hitting form... If we manage to beat an invincible Celtic team on the back of comfortably beating Aberdeen and Rangers, winning this cup would surpass the achievement of 91.
