  1. We are going to make a tidy sum from their desire to win a trophy. They had less than 20k at our semi in 2011.
  2. Im confident we will turn-up but I am intrigued to see how Robinson approaches this. Im not sure our style of play in the quarter final can be transferred to a pitch like Hampden against a Rangers team that looks to be improving. Ideally, Id like to see at least one of Bigirimana, Frear or Tanner to give us some composure and carry the ball forward but who do you sacrifice? Its a hard one. More than likely, well look to be in the game after 60 minutes and gradually introduce the aforementioned three.
  3. Absolutely delighted for Allan Campbell. Weve done brilliantly to bring through two very talented footballers that have managed to keep their heads screwed on. Heres hoping Campbell and Cadden both get the breaks required to fulfil their potential and become Scotland regulars.
  4. I was wondering about his whereabouts today after reading the Adam Livingstone link to Bristol City. Should be a decent move for Leitch as St Mitren seem to be heading in the right direction. Jack Ross is a good manager and with likes of Lewis Morgan at the club, there will be plenty scouts at their games. Hope it works because he clearly has a fair amount of talent.
  5. Talk of 10k is sheer fantasy. We had 7.5k at the playoff when it was £10/5 to get in.
  6. Better game since Mallan and Morgan settled at 2-0. Congrats to Cadden getting a goal.
  7. Great to see. When did we last have 3 youth products starting for the u21s? Faddy, Pearson and Hammell maybe? IIRC, we lost by 5 or 6 last time we were down there. Heres hoping we can give them a right good game tonight. One or two in this squad, including Cadden imo, might have a sniff of making the senior squad by next summer.
  8. I thought Frear would have made his way back into the team by now.
  9. Dont doubt Spencer was our highest earner in history but was there not chat of Porter and Hughes being on £5k a week courtesy of Boyle loans? I suspect the likes of Randolph, Law and co would have earned a fair whack too courtesy of the Dempster bonus scheme.
  10. IIRC, we had around 4k at our league cup semis in 2005, 2006 and 2011. Don't see it being different on this occasion. If it were the Scottish Cup, we'd be looking at around 8k.
  11. The only criticism I'd have of the pricing structure is that concessions are not available in the north or south stands.
  12. Pricing probably prevents many of our day trippers attending but if I'm right in thinking they semi final gate money is equally shared amongst the 4 teams then we are quids in.
  13. Poor game as anticipated on the back of Thursday's exploits. We never really looked like scoring and one wee bit of magic from Christie proved the difference. Campbell the standout performer today. He had to get through a helluva lot of work given how ineffective McHugh and Bigirimana were.
  14. I first seen Campbell at an u20s game against Aberdeen towards the end of the Baraclough era. Came away thinking we had 2 special players on our hands in Campbell and Cadden. Cadden's pace and power was obvious while Campbell oozed composure and tenacity. I was particularly struck by how much effort Lasley was putting in to coaching Campbell throughout the game as if he was developing his own successor. Listening to Faddy on the radio the other night, he said Campbell should have got much more game time after the Accies game but they decided not to do so for his own protection because the team was so poor. Great to see him get a run of games now and come out on top against McGinn and McLean. He'll inevitably hit a lull but the options in midfield should allow the club to manage his development perfectly.
  15. This will be fascinating. Double headers are tricky at the best of times but to replicate the intensity, energy and desire to win we showed last night is surely almost impossible? Will we shake things up a give more game time to Bigirimana, Tanner and Frear which would naturally change our style of play? Great to have so many options. One thing for sure is we'll face a different Aberdeen. I found there shape baffling and expect them to focus on their own style of play and revert to the 4231 they have had so much success with and properly target our weak spots. If we manage to win this then it's a significant step towards thinking we have special team on our hands.
  16. Robinson. He gave us everything we've been craving on such occasions and McInnes had no idea how to respond.
  17. Just clocked Hibs play Hearts the following Tues so that probably bursts my theory. Derby has already been moved for tv.
  18. Celtic are in Munich the previous Wednesday so I'd expect them to get the Sunday slot.
  19. After years of rather mundane and/or inept cup performances that was thoroughly refreshing. The football is far from pretty but it symbolises everything Robinson is about. For two young boys, Cadden and Campbell are fucking magic. Disappointed I had to settle for watching it on the telly as night's like these don't come along too often. Fingers crossed we draw the h**s.
  20. Impressive viewing so far but still a long way to go if Aberdeen manage to get their heid out their arse.
  21. Think the club would have been disappointed if Carl had jeopardised the deal with a poor reference.
  22. 2nd episode of the Skippy interview is up. Credit to Si Ferry, I've enjoyed every interview and the candid approach has changed my perception of certain players, none more so than McGeady.
  23. Did 60% of the income generated from Erwin, Hall, Leitch(?) and the initial Marvin transfer go to Les and Boyle? While I'm happy we are on the right track, I wonder how much of the debt relates to Les' excessive spending on a 30+ man squad during his first 6-9 months.
  24. Going by the highlights, Turnbull looked very assured. He must be near the top of the list for making the breakthrough.
