  1. Pricing probably prevents many of our day trippers attending but if I'm right in thinking they semi final gate money is equally shared amongst the 4 teams then we are quids in.
  2. Poor game as anticipated on the back of Thursday's exploits. We never really looked like scoring and one wee bit of magic from Christie proved the difference. Campbell the standout performer today. He had to get through a helluva lot of work given how ineffective McHugh and Bigirimana were.
  3. I first seen Campbell at an u20s game against Aberdeen towards the end of the Baraclough era. Came away thinking we had 2 special players on our hands in Campbell and Cadden. Cadden's pace and power was obvious while Campbell oozed composure and tenacity. I was particularly struck by how much effort Lasley was putting in to coaching Campbell throughout the game as if he was developing his own successor. Listening to Faddy on the radio the other night, he said Campbell should have got much more game time after the Accies game but they decided not to do so for his own protection because the team was so poor. Great to see him get a run of games now and come out on top against McGinn and McLean. He'll inevitably hit a lull but the options in midfield should allow the club to manage his development perfectly.
  4. This will be fascinating. Double headers are tricky at the best of times but to replicate the intensity, energy and desire to win we showed last night is surely almost impossible? Will we shake things up a give more game time to Bigirimana, Tanner and Frear which would naturally change our style of play? Great to have so many options. One thing for sure is we'll face a different Aberdeen. I found there shape baffling and expect them to focus on their own style of play and revert to the 4231 they have had so much success with and properly target our weak spots. If we manage to win this then it's a significant step towards thinking we have special team on our hands.
  5. Robinson. He gave us everything we've been craving on such occasions and McInnes had no idea how to respond.
  6. Just clocked Hibs play Hearts the following Tues so that probably bursts my theory. Derby has already been moved for tv.
  7. Celtic are in Munich the previous Wednesday so I'd expect them to get the Sunday slot.
  8. After years of rather mundane and/or inept cup performances that was thoroughly refreshing. The football is far from pretty but it symbolises everything Robinson is about. For two young boys, Cadden and Campbell are fucking magic. Disappointed I had to settle for watching it on the telly as night's like these don't come along too often. Fingers crossed we draw the h**s.
  9. Impressive viewing so far but still a long way to go if Aberdeen manage to get their heid out their arse.
  10. Think the club would have been disappointed if Carl had jeopardised the deal with a poor reference.
  11. 2nd episode of the Skippy interview is up. Credit to Si Ferry, I've enjoyed every interview and the candid approach has changed my perception of certain players, none more so than McGeady.
  12. Did 60% of the income generated from Erwin, Hall, Leitch(?) and the initial Marvin transfer go to Les and Boyle? While I'm happy we are on the right track, I wonder how much of the debt relates to Les' excessive spending on a 30+ man squad during his first 6-9 months.
  13. Going by the highlights, Turnbull looked very assured. He must be near the top of the list for making the breakthrough.
  14. Good effort from the boys. First coupon of the season up. Bookies haven't quite got to grips with this competition, 4 u20s teams to lose was 12/1, Motherwell the only team to really compete.
  15. Docherty signed a new contract after his Easter Road performance. Agree that all 3 would be welcome additions, Crawford may be a possibility if we make a move early on.
  16. Game is on periscope. Nice play by Newell to set up the equaliser.
  17. A fantastic day of business for Motherwell. Raked in a hefty sum in transfer fees and we've managed to recruit 2 experienced players that the manager knows well and seem a perfect fit for the club (this time last year McGhee was googling Luka Belic). Moult signing an improved contract offer would be the icing on the cake.
  18. Ross County boy. No chance really, just view him as an ideal replacement.
  19. Good luck to Ben, always rated him despite the obvious drop in form last season. Sheff Utd is a very decent move and if he makes it, he could easily move for big money in a couple of years. Hoping the experienced replacement is Hutchinson or Davies but that's obviously unlikely.
  20. So not Blackburn then, possibly Birmingham? I'm a fan of Heneghan but I'd view anything in the region of £400k as good business if we have an approropriate replacement lined up. Furthermore, given the market in England, Ben could end up moving for daft money if he hits the ground running in the Championship as illustrated by Marvin today, so a future windfall is possible. Wonder who the replacement will be. Presumably someone still attached to a club if we plan to announce today. Shame Hutchy is getting a game for Millwall.
  21. Looks like former Baraclough target Jackson Irvine is heading to Hull for £2mil+.
  22. There is no rush with McGinn as he is without a club.
  23. Terrific result. That'll be our first win over a big team for a while. I hear there was over 4000 in the home end too, quite a lift from recent seasons.
  24. Disappointed Campbell isn't starting ahead of Rose. No surprise Bigirimana is on the bench. Hopefully Kipre and Ben can handle Lafferty.
  25. George Long I think, playoff season.
