I like Tait but he has looked suspect defensively since day 1 and failed to improve. If Paul McGinn can recapture his Dundee form, he'd be a decent upgrade.
-
Fine news regarding Cedric. Imagine we'd look to do the same with Newell or Petravicius if their form warrants it.
-
Appreciate Bowman has made an impact on occasion but if there is an opportunity to offload him I think we have to go for it. Particularly if it leaves enough room in the budget to recruit a Moult successor on a 2/3 year deal before Moult actually departs.

Fine strike from Livingstone on his weaker foot. Good to see Gordon score a couple. I think he got thrown in too early last season while the team was a shambles. He may well benefit from a more gradual introduction to the first team this season. Very early days but I've heard good things about Liam Brown during his time at Queens Park and the early snippets look positive.

Previously linked Nadir Ciftci joins Ainsworth at Plymouth. Season long loan.

Welcome 3 points to prevent any unnecessary pressure building. Good to hear Campbell got an opportunity to make a impression, maybe he'll displace Bigi or Rose next week. -

3-2 win for 'Well at fortress Fir Park. Bowman, Moult and Fisher to score from 3 crosses. Plummer motm. Dodgy red card for Ross County to be swept under the carpet. -
I'd love him to turn it around but he's not been anywhere near the first team squad in how long? Did he make the bench during pre-season?
-
No. He clearly has no future at FP while Jake is one of our brightest prospects.
-
According to Luke Watt, both him and Jake Hastie have joined Airdrie on loan. Interested to see how Jake does.

So according to Robinson's comments in the press conference, both Moult and Heneghan are willing to run their contracts down. Presumably with a view to signing a pre-contract in January. I don't doubt the commitment of both but losing them for free would be detrimental to the club model. While I understand the argument that Moults goals are of greater value than a likely transfer bid, I'd rather see him move just now with a view to investing in a adequate replacement that we'll likely have been working on for months, then the cycle starts again. Having said that, any reasonable offers look unlikely and Moult/Heneghan may already know where they are going next summer.
-
Going by twitter, it's been confirmed that Moult has rejected the contract on offer. No surprise there but let's see how much genuine interest there is in him. If there are any offers from England in region of £500k, I think we should take it, the sooner the better.

Scottish Premiership Game 2: St Johnstone (A) Saturday 12/08/17

Correct decision from the panel on the Motherwell appeals. Jack one is understandable too. -
It was becoming increasingly inevitable but it's nevertheless sad to hear injury has curtailed big Micks' career. While he didn't meet the expectations of an esteemed Scotland/Celtic player, he was a very good experienced defender at our level. Good luck to McManus in his new role, hope he is around for a while. Think he had the credentials to be a good manager.

Pretty clear from the Sportscene coverage that Carson handled the ball outside the box. Unless we can appeal on the grounds that it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity, there is no point appealing. As has been mentioned, really poor from Carson. Dunne's red card will be rescinded. -
Priority for me is finding a striker with genuine quality. Whether he's good at linking up the play or threatening with his pace, we can adjust our style accordingly. The important thing is that we find a striker who puts defences on the backfoot and offers a bit of composure in front of goal. Find that player and he'll compliment Moult and Fisher well. If the departure of Bowman can help finance such a move then so be it.

The paranoia certainly needs to put to one side. The club will have learned from the McGhee saga last season. -
There is a naivety about the team with some of our most experienced players - Moult, Carson and McHugh - making very poor decisions that have thrown away the last 2 games. Hopefully just a blip that we'll learn from quickly.

Bigirimana blanked Griffiths on the way off the pitch. Usually you would expect a shake of the hand or the like. No major issue, just found it a bit off. -

Just watched the game on Alba. First and foremost, the performance wasn't as bad as some are making it out to be. I thought Andy Rose was out motm although I'm not sure what his best position is. I'm yet to be convinced by Bigirimana - ineffective on the pitch and I didn't like his failure to acknowledge Griffiths at the substitution. The poor decision making for the first two goals appears to be engrained in Motherwell fullbacks. Unfortunately, with Bowman upfront we don't have the required quality to make amends for the inevitable defensive lapses. Shame, as St Johnstone and Rangers have been there for the taking. Regarding the sendings off, the tv coverage for Carson is inconclusive but I can understand the ref making the decision he did. Dunne looks like a very harsh call. McHugh, stonewall sending off, another disappointing week for the captain we all wanted. Regarding the squad, we really need to address the limited options up front. Character will only take you so far, we need a bit of quality to replace McDonald and Ainsworth, O'Halloran would have been ideal imo. Presumably we have someone lined up but the delay in signing a pacy forward has probably cost us at least 2 points. -

The Ross County win gives us a bit of breathing space from a confidence perspective but given the run of home games, we'll need to pick up points soon. Can't comment too much as I'm only listening but the lineup looked unbalanced and devoid of creativity from the off. No surprise to see O'Halloran score a couple, very good signing for St Johnstone. -

No sure how our left side will shape up, I thought Plummer would start today. -
