  1. Interesting. This would have been around the time we were reportedly keen on Harris Vuckic...
  2. The calibre of Bigirimana reflects the enthusiasm in Burrows recent interview. Based on what I've read in the last couple of hours, this is one to get excited about.
  3. Solid enough signing to bolster the squad, he won't be the last striker to arrive this summer. Certainly caught the eye in his recent appearance at Fir Park.
  4. As hinted, Gateshead have confirmed hosting us on 8th July.
  5. No surprised given how he played against us. Decent replacement for Bowman if we can get him out the door.
  6. He was the boy Rangers loaned from Newcastle during the playoff season but never featured. Seems to have done alright for Coventry since.
  7. Dundee game. Suggested that he was watching his brother-in-law but not convinced.
  8. The difference is our manager has worked with NI kids for years before progressing to a coaching role in the first team. He therefore has close connections and knows the talent pool well. Regarding Lafferty, he has been advised by O'Neill to put regular football ahead of money in order to be involved in the 2018 WC campaign. Given his commitment to his country, a return to Scotland is therefore feasible and his appearance at Fir Park a few weeks back adds fuel to the fire.
  9. Is Kyle Lafferty a realistic outside shout? Scott Mullen's 'interesting' tweet is a potential tease and suggests to me we are in for someone relatively high profile.
  10. Sad to see him go but it was inevitable. He will be remembered fondly - thanks for some fantastic memories.
  11. Agree to an extent although I think the inference drawn from Burrows words is fair enough. Story is by MFC radio commentator Scott Mullen.
  12. Looking forward to the draw on Friday. I was sceptical about the revised league cup format but I enjoyed the mid-summer trips to Annan and Stranraer.
  13. I'm watching the pre-match coverage of the playoff wondering if Billy McKinlay is in with a shout of being Robinson's assistant. Both would have worked together with the NI youth teams.
  14. Neither of the Edinburgh clubs appear to be interested in Scougall and St Johnstone appear to be the front runners. Henderson is a player I rate highly but he's outwith our reach. If he were to leave Celtic but remain in Scotland, Hibs would be his destination. He developed a real affinity for the club during his loan spell there and attended a number of their games last season.
  15. Burrows interview suggests we're looking to recruit players that many of us have heard of. I'm looking forward to gauging the quality of player Robinson has been casting his eye over. I read Scougall saying he has multiple offers and he isn't averse to returning to Scotland. I expect us to be in with a shout but he won't make a decision until he returns from his holidays.
  16. Excellent interview from Burrows, exactly what you want to hear.
  17. I've got a lot of time for McManus, can see him being a good manager in a few years time. I thought Robinson would be more inclined to finding an external candidate though. Preferably a coach with experience.
  18. All things being equal, I wonder what Moult would chose. I get the impression he is settled in Scotland and would thrive playing in front of 50k every fortnight.
  19. £500k + O'Halloran wouldn't be the worst deal in the world. Hopefully the likes of Oxford can do better though.
  20. Craigan mentioned £400-600k when asked the same question about Moult on BT last Friday.
  21. We've had the joy of watching some fantastic Motherwell strikers over the years. In my time, only Tommy Coyne could exceed the quality McDonald offered. Think he is still underrated by many but his Champions League exploits at Celtic emphasised just how good he was. Having said that, I think this is the right time for him to move on as injuries look to be taking their toll. I hope he gets a decent pay-day and/or a return to Australia to conclude his career. For all his goals during both spells, his partnership with Erwin will be fondly remembered. Had Skippy not returned in Feb-15, the club would be in a very different predicament right now.
  22. Murphy and Reynolds in the Scotland squad.
  23. Sandy Bryson was head of transfers when the SFA and Jim Farry sat on the Jorge Cadette transfer. Bryson also provided key evidence for Rangers to retain their titles.
  24. Fisher is a bit hit and miss but he's bound to have caught the eye of Robinson and others since his lob at Fir Park which kicked off a run of 6 goals in 6 games. Hadn't realised Jordan Jones was out of contract at Killie. Here's hoping the NI connection gives us an outside chance. Meanwhile, Alan Mannus signs new contract with St Johnstone. I think this is good news.
