  1. Looking forward to the draw on Friday. I was sceptical about the revised league cup format but I enjoyed the mid-summer trips to Annan and Stranraer.
  2. I'm watching the pre-match coverage of the playoff wondering if Billy McKinlay is in with a shout of being Robinson's assistant. Both would have worked together with the NI youth teams.
  3. Neither of the Edinburgh clubs appear to be interested in Scougall and St Johnstone appear to be the front runners. Henderson is a player I rate highly but he's outwith our reach. If he were to leave Celtic but remain in Scotland, Hibs would be his destination. He developed a real affinity for the club during his loan spell there and attended a number of their games last season.
  4. Burrows interview suggests we're looking to recruit players that many of us have heard of. I'm looking forward to gauging the quality of player Robinson has been casting his eye over. I read Scougall saying he has multiple offers and he isn't averse to returning to Scotland. I expect us to be in with a shout but he won't make a decision until he returns from his holidays.
  5. Excellent interview from Burrows, exactly what you want to hear.
  6. I've got a lot of time for McManus, can see him being a good manager in a few years time. I thought Robinson would be more inclined to finding an external candidate though. Preferably a coach with experience.
  7. All things being equal, I wonder what Moult would chose. I get the impression he is settled in Scotland and would thrive playing in front of 50k every fortnight.
  8. £500k + O'Halloran wouldn't be the worst deal in the world. Hopefully the likes of Oxford can do better though.
  9. Craigan mentioned £400-600k when asked the same question about Moult on BT last Friday.
  10. We've had the joy of watching some fantastic Motherwell strikers over the years. In my time, only Tommy Coyne could exceed the quality McDonald offered. Think he is still underrated by many but his Champions League exploits at Celtic emphasised just how good he was. Having said that, I think this is the right time for him to move on as injuries look to be taking their toll. I hope he gets a decent pay-day and/or a return to Australia to conclude his career. For all his goals during both spells, his partnership with Erwin will be fondly remembered. Had Skippy not returned in Feb-15, the club would be in a very different predicament right now.
  11. Murphy and Reynolds in the Scotland squad.
  12. Sandy Bryson was head of transfers when the SFA and Jim Farry sat on the Jorge Cadette transfer. Bryson also provided key evidence for Rangers to retain their titles.
  13. Fisher is a bit hit and miss but he's bound to have caught the eye of Robinson and others since his lob at Fir Park which kicked off a run of 6 goals in 6 games. Hadn't realised Jordan Jones was out of contract at Killie. Here's hoping the NI connection gives us an outside chance. Meanwhile, Alan Mannus signs new contract with St Johnstone. I think this is good news.
  14. I'd be very surprised to see Blyth, Clay or Bowman at Fir Park next season. Infact, I'm not convinced any of them will be playing professional football 2 years for now. Unfortunately, it may cost us a few quid to get them off the books. Terrible signings despite McGhee assuring us he had done his due diligence. I'd expect 10-12 players to arrive if Robinson gets his way. Interested to get a sense of what the budget will be. Thanks to finishing a place above schedule, coining in £200k+ from Ibrox, promised 4 home Rangers/Celtic games, increased tv revenue and £250k courtesy of Celtic, we shouldn't be scraping the barrel so much this summer.
  15. I don't know how the game unfolded and appreciate that there isn't much room for sentiment, however I find it a bid odd that Lasley didn't get any game time.
  16. Leahy signed a 1 year deal last summer. Wouldn't be surprised to see him clinch a decent deal down South though.
  17. I've been keen on Luke Leahy the last 3 years. Hopefully we are in the running for him this summer. Perfect replacement for Hammell.
  18. Robinson stated in his pre-match interview that Inverness have a number of players that premiership teams would bite your hand off for. Throwaway comment but an offer for Billy McKay wouldn't surprise many.
  19. Yeah, McDonald has been a terrific servant for us but the time is right for him to move on. Having said that, I hope he doesn't stay in Scotland.
  20. A win over Hamilton, is no more satisfying for me than a win over Patrick Thistle or St Johnstone. Last Saturday was special but it was purely because we beat our closest rival in the table. For the ICT game, I'd like to see a few of the fringe youngsters get some game time including MacLean, Turnbull, Livingstone and Hastie. Very much doubt we'll risk Moult, Frear or Hammell.
  21. Best moment in my 28 years going to Motherwell games. The sound of the ball hitting the net will never leave me. Grateful the cameraman caught my celebrations.
  22. I like Foran and I've quite enjoyed watching them at Fir Park. Would be happy to see them go above Accies.
  23. Who was the last Motherwell player to score so many screamers? From his debut strike in a 2-2 draw at Tannadice to the free kick last night, his top 10 goals must be impressive viewing.
  24. Far from guaranteed. Would like to think we will offer him an extension.
