His Celtic comments the day he was unveiled as Aberdeen manager got him off to a bad start. IIRC, that was closely followed by an embarrassment in Europe and the sacking of a genuine club legend in Jim Leighton.

Unhinged. Even by McGhee standards, he's been more unbalanced than usual with the over the top post-match reaction at Ibrox, complaining about red cards weeks after the event, repeatedly claiming we have been playing well and 'having a laugh' at 4-0 down. Sad state of affairs that he has anything to do with the national team.

No hint of resignation chat in the post match interview. Seemingly sent to the stand for 'having a laugh'. Fuck off!

Looking forward to the usual suspects telling us how we can't be expected to compete with a team the size of Aberdeen. One silver lining, tonight underlines how fucking shite Rangers are.

Wonder how many goals it will take in order for Les to get on the phone tonight. He's survived 6 and 7 so far. You have to wonder how effective McGhee and McFadden have been on the training ground this season. We've rarely looked well drilled and judging by the radio commentary tonight, the players have chucked it.

10 days to prepare for this and it sounds like we are an absolute shambles. Doesn't reflect well on our training methods.

Interested to see how we line up tomorrow, variety of formations possible from 352 to 433. Will we flood the midfield or will we put someone alongside Moult to get the best out of him. Judging by the Celtic u20 highlights, Frear looks good to go. With McHugh and McDonald missing, Tait and Hammell possibly not fully fit, the odds are stacked against us. I think Aberdeen are comfortably the 2nd best team in Scotland but I have a wee hunch we might pick up a result tomorrow. Hopefully the speculation around McInnes provides a distraction.

Blyth playing for u20s tonight, along with Chalmers and Frear. No sign of Bowman. As pointed out previously by capt_oats, Bowman is rarely involved in these games which I find a tad strange. Does he choose not to put himself forward?

£500k is ambitious but it's a marker for the direction we need to head in. Been a while since I've looked at figures but I think subscriptions were generating £10-12k per month. This initiative should be drive us on to double that at least.

Really good initiative and generous offer from Les launched today. For every £ the WS raises in 2017, Les will match up to £500k and reduce the debt accordingly. I reluctantly signed up last year. If I hadn't done, this is the type of offer that would have captured my interest. Hopefully it encourages more to start contributing monthly. A real opportunity for us fans to significantly improve the financial health of the club.

You sometimes have to take McDonald's comments with a pinch of salt but him and Burrows were told it was the responsibility of the club to inform players of rule changes. McDonald implied this didn't happen in the summer. It was also pointed out that the SFA really should take more responsibility when distributing such information and where necessary, provide demonstrations to avoid inconsistent interpretation.

We're just saving money and rightly so. Appeal would be heard before our next game.

Decent conversation on Sportsound just now involving McDonald and Derek Ferguson, echoing much of what has been discussed on here. Motherwell not appealing McHugh's sending off. Burrows and McDonald came away from Hampden last week knowing that due to a rule change, you can rarely go to ground when tackling, regardless of whether you get the ball, as the tackle is inevitably going to involve force. As an aside, Hearts' can't appeal the mistaken identity yellow. Joke!

This fixture was going to be hard work at the best times but without Skippy and McHugh missing it's likely to be a really tough night. Having said that, some of our best results in recent years have came at midweek away games up north. When does Tait's suspension kick in?

Consensus across Scottish football media is that McHugh was rightly sent off.
