  1. Agree, anything less than 2 points and we have a dismal position to stew on throughout the winter break before returning to games against Rangers (x2), Ross County away, Hearts and away trips to Aberdeen and Celtic.
  2. With McDonald and McManus barely training and Moult and Cadden looking less than 100%, hard to see us turning our poor away form around.
  3. I'd expect us to have scope for a signing or two as we did plan to replace Marvin in the summer. Not sure we can trust McGhee with the money though. The signings of Blyth, Bowman, Clay, Lucas, Samson and Brill have contributed next to nothing. A team with our budget can't afford to carry so much waste.
  4. Skippy for his goal. Thought Hammell and McManus done ok. The rest were anonymous or poor.
  5. Heneghan followed through with a high tackle on Shinnie. If retrospective action is still a thing, there is every chance he'll get a ban, particularly given the focus BT put on him.
  6. Yet another abysmal 2nd half performance, primarily due to a midfield that comprises of two McGhee signings that are nowhere near good enough. The lack of quality in the bottom half of the league is the only reason McGhee isn't under more pressure.
  7. Absolutely no luck so far the night. Maybe you don't deserve much luck though when you employ incompetent clowns like Samson.
  8. McManus and Skippy not trained this week but expected to play. If it wasn't for the weather warnings, I'd expect a bigger crowd that normal.
  9. I vaguely recall either McGhee or Burrows indicating that we did receive compensation for Robbie Leitch.
  10. I like the idea of this game being on the Friday. Aberdeen under a bit of pressure, hopefully our best players are fully fit and we can have a right good go at them.
  11. Maybe not Oxford but if the likes of Rangers, Celtic, Brighton or Leeds put in a decent offer, his head would probably be turned and understandably so. I've been a huge fan of Cadden since watching him semi regularly for the u20s but I think a move to England would be too early just now. He has all the attributes to be a cracking player but he needs to keep improving his final ball. Once he nails that, he's capable of notching 10-15 goals and assists a season in Scotland. Hopefully that's at Motherwell but wouldn't be surprised to see him at Rangers or Celtic.
  12. Our recent record up there is dismal. Think we have lost 6 in a row. You have to go back to 2012 for a victory when Murphy and Law ripped them apart. Got a daft feeling we might nick a result on Saturday though despite our ineffective midfield.
  13. Sore one for anyone that travelled. Hopefully the stewards are as generous as the Fir Park ones when it comes to handing out vouchers.
  14. Cadden and Bowman in. MacLean and Ainsworth out. Likely 433/451.
  15. Will be interesting to see how we lineup for this one. Cadden and MacLean will probably be doubtful at best while 3 games in a week looks to be well beyond Lasley now. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hastie start. Interesting to hear Moult was doubtful yesterday, he certainly looked a bit slower than we've came to expect. Aberdeen have regressed IMO but would expect them to run out relatively comfortable winners.
  16. Tait was the pick of the bunch for me. Shame MacLean picked up an injury though after an impressive first half.
  17. Motherwell and Kilmarnock losing 4 and 5 goals in their last outing done the game no favours today as it would appear both teams focused on defending in training this week. Having said that, the overall standard of play was diabolical but that's where we are with Scottish football.
  18. Cadden and Clay in the signing zone set off a few alarm bells. Should know soon enough.
  19. For someone that comes across so composed and methodical on Motherwell TV, that was a proper heads gone moment from Craigan. His disrespectful reaction to the Cathro appointment this week has surprised me a little. Getting classed in the same bracket as Boyd and Fullarton won't do his reputation any favours.
  20. It's not fully in the clubs' control though as we seen with Marvin. Moult and Cadden are terrific characters but if the right opportunity comes up for them and their agents view the offers as fair value, they'll more than likely move on with our best wishes.
  21. Yeah, very good news about Ross MacLean, not too long ago there were rumours about him getting freed. Sounds like another couple of contract extensions are on the horizon too. I'd expect offers to come in for both Moult and Cadden and the ethos of the club is such we wouldn't want to stand in their way if good offers are made. However retaining our premiership status is imperative so hopefully one, most likely Cadden, can stay until the summer. Would be sad to see Ainsworth go, particularly if we end up in a relegation battle, but he deserves more game time and a number of clubs will be monitoring his situation.
  22. At the start of the season, many neutrals expected Killie to be in for a tough campaign so they are slightly exceeding expectations. Too early in season to say this is a must win but a defeat would pile the pressure on in advance of an intensive set of tricky fixtures. With that in mind, I expect us to come flying out the traps and hopefully the quality of Moult and McDonald proves too much for Killie to handle.
  23. Assuming the debt is interest free, I imagine such an offer of early repayment would result in the debt being somewhar discounted?
