McDonald and Cadden really impressive in midfield while Marvin showed some neat tricks. McManus motm though, he's had a good season.
-
Not the most memorable game but job done. Shame there isn't more to play for at the moment as we are in really decent shape. Leitch running out of chances to earn a new contract. Looked out his depth today.

I can't see Ripley being anyway other than the English championship next season.
-
I'd agree with this. I do hope though that we can find a couple of players with a Moult/Johnson profile in the midfield and fullback positions. This would allow a transitional spell to taper the game time of Lasley and Hammell while still making the most of their talent, experience and leadership.

New sponsor is unsurprising but pleasing. What's the script with a 3rd shirt? Anniversary?
-
Strangely, I've had no bother with the quality of either this season. Actually think they've been an upgrade on recent efforts.
-
When's the last time we'll have went a season without beating them? Hopefully we have Pearson and Laing available. Looking forward to this after missing the Celtic game but I'm more excited about next Wed.

It annoys me that I can't remember my 1st game better but I think it was a 2-0 defeat to Aberdeen in January 89 aged 5. Can't recall anything about the Motherwell team but I think Jess and Bett were playing for them. I didn't enjoy it at all and I think my next game wasn't until 91. After missing the Falkirk game with glandular fever I finally returned to FP for the boring 0-0 with Morton. I wasn't too interested at all to the extent my dad watched the Celtic replay in the Horse & Anchor in Camby. That remains the one and only time I've seen my auld man steaming and it finally clicked with me that this meant something significant. The 3-0 pumping of Rangers and build-up to the cup final within the town transformed everything. And from the pride and euphoria generated on the day I couldn't wait for the new season. The atmosphere of the Katowice game and my first 'away-day', to Somerset Park for the cup particular highlights.

The ineptness of Celtic was always going to be the greatest risk to European hopes. Hopefully it doesn't effect us too much and we go on to clinch 4th and an extra £200k. Having said that, the most exciting game between now and the end of the season is a week on Wednesday at Hampden.

Still no word on the Q&A that had to happen this month?

Welcome news for continuity alone. Another good Baraclough appointment.

If McGhee thinks he is good enough, then I'd be pleased to see Moore get another year. Back in the U20s, I used to think he had a better chance than Erwin, primarily due to having a good head on his shoulders to accompany his talent. The injury came at a horrible time and the snippets of his return last season suggested that he had bulked up but was badly in need of a run of games to get up to speed. Would be interesting to see how sharp he'd look after a successful season with Ayr and a preseason under McGhee. As an aside, if we've offered him a deal and he opts to move on I guess we'd be entitled to compensation.

Yeah Humphrey is out for the season with a shin injury. By no means expecting Hutchy back at Motherwell but would expect the aforementioned Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen to be making enquiries.
-
Talking of former players, anyone been monitoring Hutchinson at Fulham? That'll be his contract up this summer...
-
Chasing money? More like keeping our head above water in order to give boys a chance in the future.

Great listen. I'm maybe easily pleased but I love that Moult and Lesley are willing to give up so much time for the fans. Loved the Equis line.

Two grumbles from a selfish perspective. Disappointed to be away to County midweek. Had visions of going there to clinch 4th place. Secondly, going to Parkhead on the day they lift the title isn't ideal but it's the only away game that will be feasible for me. From a club perspective though, no complaints.
-
Think next season will be too early for Campbell and from what I've seen, admittedly pre-Christmas, Mackin is some way away. I liked MacLean pre-season but injuries have got in the way this season. We'll see what McGhee pulls out the hat. Not many would have expected Hall to get a sniff this year.
-
Best part of a million was distributed down the league iirc.
-
In my opinion, the young ones that are ready have been blooded during the cut and thrust of the season. I'd like to see more of Watt and Thomas but not to the cost of £200k. McGhee will use them when he knows they are ready. Big pre-season ahead for the pair of them.
-
Top 6 resembles a decent season, boosted by the development of young players. Given how precarious our finances are however, it'll be a missed opportunity if we don't beat a poor St Johnstone and inconsistent Ross County to 4th place and an extra £200k minimum.
-
This afternoon seemingly. Our fixtures should be set in stone with St Johnstone and Hearts at home, just a matter of order.
-
Missed the unfolding of events yesterday but delighted we made top 6 with relative ease in the end. Well done to the manager and players turning around a season that looked destined for a bottom 4 scrap. As other have said, we can now hopefully plan ahead for next season and step up negotiations with identified targets. On the park, hopefully we keep our foot on the gas and finish 4th. I wonder how much the potential extra prize money would influence the current ownership negotiations.
-
Nobody on that list I'd bite your hand off for. Always liked Bannigan but he'll have bigger offers lined up. Expect our activity to be focused on the lower leagues in England and Scotland.

Good questions Jay with regards communication, engagement, missed targets and sustainability. Dickie seems a good sort but some of the answers were unconvincing, an all too familiar theme. Well done too in finding a Celtic fan worth listening to.
