Should never in a million years been considered for a return to Fir Park. From the outside the club appears to be poisoned, sadly it pre-dates the arrival of McGhee.
-
As I've said I had to resort to the radio today and I was slightly taken aback by the noises coming from the ground. However I suspect that his approach to the game compounded the bitter taste stemming from the treatment of Lionel on Tuesday. Out of interest, where does your belief in McGhee come from? Barring an exceptional 6 months at Motherwell where he had exceptional players at his disposal, he has been an absolute failure for over a decade. There is no doubt he is a talented coach but time after time his arrogance and stubbornness undermine his ability. A very poor mans Gordon Strachan in my opinion. When he returned he said our position last season was 'embarrassing'. That may well come back to haunt him.

Listening to the radio, it sounded like the crowd were turning on McGhee today. the decision to bring him back to the club continues to baffle me as his entrenched flaws get highlighted week after week. The fans will probably get blamed post-match for wanting Moult on. Good luck to Inverness in the next round.
-
Would it really? We've been through this process so many times now I don't think it would make a difference.
-
McGhee didn't name him on BBC radio but it was clear who he was talking about for anyone that was watching the game. He then went on to name Lionel on MFCTV, the channel sponsored by Chris Caddens' brother. As for Lionel coming out to the press, who know whose decision that was but he was flung under a bus and the press lapped it up with the grief-stricken patter.

References to Ainsworth having a poor season, he hasn't really been given much of a chance since McGhee has arrived has he? Meanwhile Marvin gets 90 minutes every week despite having similar flaws in his game to Ainsworth. It's worth bearing in mind we wouldn't have got the memorable win at Parkhead without him, not to mention he's proven to contribute 20 goals a season if he gets ample opportunity. Hope he gets the chance to get it right up McGhee on Saturday.
-
Ah but what if he loses his man for a goal? Would McGhee be willing to publicly criticise Faddy like he did with Ainsworth? As for the game, we better be right up for this, no excuses. Defend well, create chances and score. Play to our potential and we'll win. The whole Tansey affair adds an interesting dimension to the game from an Inverness perspective.

Nah never. Apart from the Accies game, where he conveniently decided to own up to his mistake with the substitution, after the Hearts hammering... -

McGhee post match focusing on the man who lost Lawless and cost us a deserved point. Who was the guilty party? -

2 points out of last 15. Tad worrying. Think out over reliance on Johnson to create isn't helping us at present, hence why we could have done with a playmaker. -

Wee Lawless. No good enough for Motherwell. -

There appears to be little faith in Ainsworth, Thomas and Fletcher. -

Is he looking a tad heavier than normal? That caught my eye in the Dundee highlights. -

Surprised we've went with same lineup as Saturday, the likes of Ainsworth and Kennedy could have came in without weakening us too much. Hopefully tonight on a heavy pitch doesn't hamper out hopes in the cup. What's the script with Laing? Missed the bench again and wasn't in U20s team today. -
It's one of the few names that springs to mind but he seems odds on to join St Johnstone.
-
Cheers. Struggling to think who we could be in for then.
-
Hadn't realised Chris Maguire had signed for Oxford. What's the script with free agents again? In order to be eligible, do these players need to have left their old club by tonight?
-
Much prefer this deadline day to the ludicrous one that propelled us deeper into debt. Having said that a fair few irons in the fire must have fell through in the last week or so. Got a feeling we'll end up with someone like Chris Maguire in the coming days. Of all the names dropped in the last few hours, Stephen O'Donnell would have been a welcome addition.

Higdon is ineligible for a move to Scotland. Ross County in for Goodwillie.
-
Hibs and St Johnstone in for Stef Scougall according to STV. Another very decent playmaker.

Gomis fits the criteria of the player we've all been looking for.
