A wee trip to 'Surfshark' is a lot easier..
-
Anyone who wanted this absolute clown back is borderline insane. His brother in law was a decent player, to be fair, but his brother was gash and should never have worn a Motherwell shirt. He also had Tommy Sheridan training with us. WTF was that all about ? The club became a plaything for him and his pals, using a naΓ―ve lunatic's money.

A number of managers have clearly rated O'Donnell..........so either a lot of fans don't really know much, or our last few managers have been shite. That didn't come out looking as good as I thought it might π
-
Agreed, but I thought Oh'Lasagne should have got booked for the push on Gordon that resulted in him getting clattered by Balcombe. Was soft when it came, but overdue.

We never win after a break.....

Year bfore me . Was that the Amber strip with the Claret trim and the cursive MFC instead of the badge ?
-
The diagonal stripe kit from around 75/76 is still my favourite (still go the one I got for my 12th Birthday) and the Munchegladbach style one we wore in the 75/76 semi was always one I loved.

Genuine excitement for this today. Will we play a better practiced way of the way we played Dundee and The h**s ? Will a couple of extra weeks with the players change the approach or line up dramatically ? Will Dan Casey score a hat trick (or give away another daft one) ? Will we rip them to shreds and score 5 ? Will we be gash, get pumped and start a Wimmer Out thread ? Are we on the verge of becoming 80's Aberdeen and conquering Europe ? The possibilities are endless π

Not old enough to have seen the 1873 one obviously π My first international was a Home International against Wales in 1972 (aged 9 or 10). The SFA Centenery game was in '73 I think. Willie Ormond's first game in charge. We lost 0-5.
-
Hope Miller gets some minutes. This will be my first international since the early 80s π My old age got brought home to me about 18 months ago, when someone brought an SFA 150th anniversary shirt in to my shop get framed. I thought, fuck me, I was at the centenary game ! Versus England, played in the snow, orange ball and a full on proper pumping it was too !

They could easily have buried us in the first half, but despite all the pressure and chances, they never got more than a goal ahead. I was right behind the goals, quite low down and I couldn't see Dougie at the second goal. A good ball played in and the next thing, the ball was nestling in the back of the net. Absolute scenes. Psycho's goal was just out of this world. I said to my old man at the time and watching it back confirms this. When that goal went in, if you look at the Celtic players, it looks like someone has run round and stuck a pin in them all. They all just instantly deflated. Kirkie's goal was the icing on the icing. I remember at the time that it seemed to take an age for the ref to actually give it, but watching it back, it's only 2 or 3 seconds. Those last few mins, knowing that the game was in the bag are the best feeling i've ever had as a football fan. Even my old man, who was quite elderly at the time, was bouncing up and down, singing and hugging random cunts ! What a feeling that was !

This. I was confident we would beat them in the first semi, but was convinced we were in for a bad night on the second one. That night, as anyone who was there will remember was on pishy horrible wet night. I got held up at work, then just after picking the mrs up, some dick ran into me, puncturing a tyre, which I had to change (in a suit) in the pishing rain. Went to pick my old man up to take him and he didn't want to go. Finally persuaded him and got in just before kick off, as as most will remember the first 5/10 mins was a fucking nightmare. I was in a foul mood and could cheerfully have left when they scored their second. Glad I stayed though. Have to say, that was one of the best nights ever at the footie. I enjoyed that more than the final, which was just toooooo tense. I'd seen us lose multiple semis, starting with the '75/6 debacle with Rangers. To finally see us win at Hampden against either of the arse cheeks was a 'Well fans dream come true.

I'm struggling to find the post where people said anything to the contrary.

Oh, completely forgot about that. A wee trial 'in' Greenock rather than a trial 'for'..... My mate sent a picture and I'm still trying to find out how he even knew who KVV was, given that he knows so little about football, i'd be surprised if he could name a team, never mind a player.
-
KVV in LidL in Greeock of all places today. Maybe a wee trial for Morton ?
-
Was first three for Kettlewell was it not ? The players were bought into what he was doing for the remainder of the season he took over. Didn't go wrong till a bit after that. You could probably argue that they bought in for the first round of games this season. Wimmer's influence on the team so far has been remarkable and he gets a standing ovation from me for it ! But i'm always nervous about getting too excited just because I know that the vast majority of managers of most teams meet an acrimonious end at some point π Lets just hope the Wimmer revolution lasts a bit longer.

Apologies in advance, long winded post π I started going to Motherwell with my da' (because my old man was a 'Well fan when he was younger) in about 1972/3 and got my first season ticket (old main stand, 5 rows back, 5 seats in) in '75 for the start of the new 10 team premier league. A few games into the season, we played Rangers and the row in front of me was full of their fans. This was my first experience of them (aged about 12). A sat with my old man and we were sat between a couple of folk that some on here may know. Don St John, a disabled club singer and Andy Edgar (later to become Hamilton Accies photographer). Early in the game, Don called John Grieg a 'clown' and was harassed, threatened, had a punch swung at him and was told for the whole game that he was 'getting it' down the back stairs. Over the years, I've witnessed and ended up sadly getting involved in numerous and regular altercations with their fans in the main stand. Call it luck, call it whatever, but I've never actually had to deal with that kind of shit from Celtic fans. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not saying they don't have cunty fans as well, i've just never had to deal with any. As a result of these experiences at a young age, it gave me a really deep seated hatred of them (chuck in the 95/96 cup semi for good measure). Celtic to me are just another team that I love seeing us beat, along with any other team we play but I have to admit I get that extra wee spring in my step when we pump the currant buns. None of this has anything to do with religion or background. If I followed a team cause of where I went to school i'd be a h*n and if I followed my pals from my childhood who i played football with up the park, i'd probably, on balance, be a tim. I'm neither. I'm a Motherwell fan and have inflicted the same on my kids π I certainly don't hate Rangers more than I love Motherwell and I certainly don't have any 'sympathies' for the other lot.

When i was driving home before the game, Radio Scotland were full of how they were going to win and win comfortably today after the big comeback against Killie. Whoever was speaking was saying people were underestimating the effect Ferguson would have on them. 'He won't stand for any nonesense' was used a couple of times. get it right up them. C**ts !!!
-
Fucking brilliant !!!!! No better feeling than sticking it up them at their own wee den ! Pound Shop Klopp Humbles Pound Shop Club !
