He lives in Bishopton (so a short commute) and his kid is less than a year old.

Spot on mate. I'm 100% sure everyone gets the 1 win in 18 thing, I certainly do, but amazingly enough, we've never become detached because of it (meaning everyone is equally good or shite) and in the last 5 games, we've taken 6 points. Only Aberdaan, Killie and Dundeee have taken more, and then only by a point or 2. We're also 4 points off the top six. The two teams with the famous 'new manager bounce' behind them have taken 3 points and 1 point from their last 5 games. If we'd been fighting it out for bottom place after these 18 games and losing every week, I'm sure more people would be calling for heads, but as it stands, we're not. Some people on this forum seem to think that we either have some right to be better then everyone outside the OF or that bringing in some other journeyman manager with a sketchy track record (i.e what we can afford) will make things better. Time for calm heeds and showing a bit of support.

Serious question. Before Levien went to St J and Adams to Ross Co, had you been told kettlewell had been sacked and the short list was Adams amd Levien, would you have been delighted about it ? And even more important, would you be calling for them to be sacked now if we were still in the same league position with the same number of points ?

He was standing right in front of the keeper in an offside position. How that was given i'll never know.

You seriously think we've not been trying ?? Big gamble makes it sound like they've all been sitting about going "Should we sign a striker for saturday or do you think it can wait til Monday ??" Seriously, get a grip 🙄
-
Why don't you send him YOUR list of available strikers with the right pedigree and available within our budget. Either that or learn the differences between excuses an reality. Either that or just stop being a fud and STFU.

And there is the heart of the problem 🙂 Since 2019, Wilkinson's scoring record is miles better than Scott's. Strikers are always a gamble. Fletcher/Moult is a great example and there are dozens of others. Sometimes strikers wouk out in certain teams and others just don't and a lot of the time, track record doesn't reflect outcome. You can go back decades with this. Willie Pettigrew had been on the books with Alloa and Hibs I think, couldn't get a look in and then became a goal machine for us. Another mid 70's example, Mike Larnach set the heather on fire for Clydebank, went down south and faild, came back to us and failed again, went back to clydebank and started battering them in for fun again. (sorry, im an old c**t so my recollection of 70's transfers is immense 🙂 ).Tommy McLean signed Ally Graham from Ayr when he was the top goalscorer in the 2nd tier, but did nowt for us and got moved on. Not having a go at you here mate, but when I see posters constantly carp about our clubs faiures in the signing department, it pisses me off, for a multitude of reasons. Most of them probably couldn't organise a Subbuteo team and have no idea about contracts, budgets etc and can't see the bigger picture. You canny just go on 'playmaker' and type in 'top league, proven 25 goal a season striker at under £2K per week, multiple assists welcome'. 🙂

Taking Scott's name (as someone we already know) out of the equation, if it had been announced that the club was signing a player who had netted 12 goals since the start of the 2019 season, do you think the forum would have got excited and shouted 'Brilliant News, well done Kettlewell and Daws !'
-
Don't tell me we're signing another Japanese forward......
-
Did you consider Tommy McLean to be a decent manager ? Wee Tam bought and moved on countless dud players in his time. Every team in the league buys and moves on players that don't work out for them for one reason or another and every manager has done it more often than anyone would be able to remember. In the market we're in and the competition for mediocre players, I seriously don't get where you think we should be able to magically find great players for no so great money and have every one we try work out well. The fact that the standard of football in our league is going down is not the fault of our club or anybody who works for them. It's the current economics of the game leaves our manager (and every other Scottish manager apart from the h**s and the Tims and maybe Hearts and Hibs scrabbling around in the same murky pool. Every now and again you unearth a gem and a lot of the time you don't. If you look back to the signing of Moult, he was brought in as 'a project' and the main man was to be a guy who'd played at a higher level (Wes Fletcher). We all know how that turned out. When you deal in that pool, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's like buying a £500 car. Blaming Motherwell for making the mistakes made by almost every club and manager in the league is pointless.
-
16-0 to St Johnstone. We've got shite players and a shite manager and they've got a great manager and even better players. They've also never signed a player who didn't work out. Heavy defeat followed by a special SFA meeting where they make the decision to relegate us immediately after the game. Either that or we might win.... Or maybe draw.
-
Every other team in our league has better managers and better players and they also win every week while we lose every week with shite players that no one wants and a useless 'oot his depth' manager. Bearing that in mind, this anomaly in yesterdays results seems somewhat illogical.
-
This can't be right cause there's only one team in the top flight thats got crap players and a manager that's out of his depth, and thats us. If you were to get your information from here that is 🙂
-
Didn't hear them say that but I got a text from a mate (usually not to bad for story reliability) saying Obika is offski for an 'undisclosed fee'. I think thats the footie equivalent of yer maw telling your your hamster has 'gone to live on a farm' when you were wee 🙂

Very quiet forum considering we just scored a clincher. Are the 'bet your mortgage we'll lose' brigade off phoning the social for emergency housing ??
-
I was about to post something similar, but i reckoned i'd get called a 'happy clapper' by some of the wanks on this forum who were willing to stake their mortgage on defeat today.
-
Decent start........
-
Of the teams sitting 12th to 5th, only Aberdeen have a better 'last 5 games' points tally than us. You can't just look at us in isolation. I happened to be sitting next to a senior SFA official on a flight yesterday and he told me we're going to a 14 team league with an 8/6 split 'sooner rather thn later'.

I can't have any views on Slattery's injury (other than it's not great news) because I don't know how or why it happened and I can't fix it. I'm sure though, that the staff all know about it and the management team will do something to address it. I think 'crisis' is pushing it a bit. It leaves the managment needing to strengthen the midfield, which we needed anyway. Be great if Miller is back though. He's been a massive loss.
-
You predict a defeat every week. Does the loss of Slattery change that ? Are the defeats going to be bigger or smaller ??

Nae need to dig the boy up..............

Yan Dhanda leaving Ross Co.......

Can't remember what site I even looked at but they said 3 in one comprtition and 2 in another. Happy to be corrected then, and i'm going to leave out any gags about anyone being short of fingers 🙂

Doesn't look like he played more than a handful of games for Alloa, if my info sources are correct.

Abso-fuckin-lutely not......
