Could be worse, He could have added "turn a corner".

Disgrace ! Sack The Board !

He did a mazy run down the wing that woke the crowd up though. Pretty much the first time the crowd woke up all afternoon. Was a rank rotten game.

Motherwell V The Rangers Spfl Playoff Final 2Nd Leg 31/05/15
AllyMax replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Agree with all of the above. McCall sent us out off the back of a bad run and already beaten in the cup final with all his fannying about with formations and playing players in unfamiliar positions. I didn't fear Rangers in a footballing sense but going down to these cunts would have been hard to get over, so I was nervous as hell before it. I think we'd all seen enough of them to know that they weren't much of a side, but that doesn't always matter when you're playing them. As my old man used to tell me when I started going in the 70's, you sometimes need to beat the cunts 3-0 to get a draw :-) -

I've just got round to watching Baraclough's three interviews (before, middle and after). You've got to admit that he handled that superbly. Especially the pre Ibrox one where most of the media questioning was about Rangers and how good they were and what could he do to negate their threat. He acknowledged that it had been worked on but spoke at great length about the damage we were capable of doing to them. He comes across as calm, assured and prepared. I think he can turn into a very good manager given the right circumstances. -
I would agree with that. he's only really played half a season of first team football. I'd be willing to bet his first team appearances will be rare for the next two years. Would have though he'd have been better with another couple of years almost guaranteed first team football before moving to a place here he's still going to get to play regularly. Can appreciate though, that the zeros in the big number on the contract would cloud our judgement

Players generally talk a lot of shite at end of contract time. EG Higdon saying he would stay if McCall did. Anything a player indicates in the aftermath of the final game of the season can be largely ignored.

Don't know if anyone caught Craigan's comment on BT Sport yesterday. Presenter - Stephen, what is the one big thing that Ian Baraclough has done to improve this Motherwell team. Craigan - Stephen Robinson

A player of Erwin's age should make sure he's going somewhere where he's going to play first team football regularly.

I'm hoping some of the 'older' gentlemen of the forum might be able to confirm or deny this, but, having bought my first season ticket in '74 (last year of the old 1st Div), We've beaten the currant buns loads of times in league games, but as far as I can remember, we've never beaten them in a 'tie' situation such as a cup or a two legged affair like this ? -
Don't think I've ever said this before, but I honestly can't pick a MoM. Too many players deserve plaudits for last night. Pearson for keeping Vucik out of the game, but still getting forward and creating, Skippy for the very unselfish game and hard work, Erwin for creating his goal from next to nothing, Johnson and Ainsworth for breaking behind them at pace in a way that could have resulted in this ending up as a mauling and giving us an 'out', the back four for staying strong, Lasley for just being Lasley and running non stop and the keeper for a couple of really good saves. It really was a team performance. If pressed, I'd probably go for Pearo, but think i'll refrain from picking an individual.

WTF was with the silky soccer skills from Wullie Watson at the start of the build up to our second goal ??? Don't ever remember Wullie doing anything other than going through people or lumping the ball up the park. That was positively Messi-like !!

I started going just about a year before Pettigrew broke into the first team (Back end of the last season of the old First Div). He became pretty much a fixture in the first season of the Premier League in '75 I think. Him and Graham were a lethal combination and probably, for us old geezers, they are better remembered because they lasted a few years together. Arnott and Coyne together were the closest I've seen to them as a pairing.

heard the burd commented that he wasn't very hard in the tackle.....

If it's any of our current right backs, all the cops need to do is keep the chase going for about 35 mins and the right back will be blawing oot his arse.
-
We've signed a few arseholes over the years. The correct checks have to be carried out.

Facing the wall, arms and legs spread......

Anyone old enough will remember a certain ex manager saying exactly the same thing and dropping an almost entire first team in favour of the younger players. We suffered record defeats and got relegated.
-
Very good. But who have you got scoring 'Well's third goal ?
-
Dempster was like a wumman ??????
-
Why ? The last time he was here he spent squillions of quid and we ended up shite, with his brother and Paul Harvey in the side....

Did Wee Tam no manage Dundee Utd post Bosman ? I seem to remember him bringing in three Scandanavians (one was Kjell Olafsson) and doing Ok. At the same time, McGinger-baws was bringing in Franz Resch and Mario Doerner and some northern European centre back that kept getting sent off before he got sent packing.

Manager and assistant manager ?
