  1. Sidney mentioned this on 'Off the Ball' yesterday, but did I not see something about the monies going to a children's hospice/ hospital or similar?
  2. You mean like a Paul Lambert or ,and I'm not in anyway comparing them, a Makalele (sp!)
  3. Always thought "hairy macaroon" sounded awful I'll get my jacket...
  4. Huge result, solidly in 2nd place & back with a positive goal difference! Hopefully we'll continue our strong 2nd half to the season tradition. Fingers crossed results go our way on Wednesday
  5. You would think playing Stewart made more sense because he'll be training with the players day in, day out & the defence will know him. So to play a total stranger makes no sense, and that's before we ask whether or not he's any good or has any game time.
  6. Sensible reflection & pointing out figures such of these will get you chased off this forum
  7. From today's Herald http://www.heraldscotland.com/mobile/sport/football/mccall-rules-himself-out-of-return-to-bramall-lane-in-wake-of-weir-exit.22463548?utm_source=headlines&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email%252Balert I'd imagine this type of questioning will get trotted out every time a former club becomes available.
  8. If memory serves, did we not have a real sticky start to last season also?
  9. I don't think Gunnar beside Hollis would have stopped what I thought was a bullet header from about 8 yards or so.
  10. To an extent, I'd agree. But basics like crosses into the 6-yard box should be a prerequisite for your goalie. Also, I'd agree that in the past 2 keepers, we've been blessed with 2 outstanding examples, both tough acts to follow. If Hollis had followed Stevie Woods he might not have felt so daunted or us so lacking in his abilities.
  11. Goalkeepers are like strikers in the respect that they are confidence positions. Both can be terrible when things are going badly & the opposite when things go well. However, unlike a striker who misses, a goalkeeper who doesn't collect a cross or clear his lines generally causes a goal when that happens.
  12. Somebody behind me kept talking about his height & how was too small to be a goalie. Out of curiosity, or boredom, I had a look at Wikipedia for both Hollis & Randolph. Both the same height. Some folks just looking for an excuse to criticise methinks
  13. Can't think of a single player who'd get pass marks. No composure in possession & at times struggled to find one of our players. McCall needs to take some share if the blame, no support for Sutton, only McCall to blame for that. Could be a long season...
  14. I thought we'd be much closer to 10,000 at this stage. There were only singles left for the Cooper & Phil stands yesterday & I thought, wrongly, that it would be almost full.
  15. When fit he was a brilliant attacking full back but not sure how his fitness levels are now
  16. And Dan Petrescu was their manager for a couple of years a little while ago. If the Cisse who played at QPR last year turns up, I don't see much to worry about, he was gash!!
  17. Since its in & outs, I notice that from the line-ups this evening, Henrik hasn't even made the bench for Legia tonight in Wales. Has he made the wrong choice, from hero to squad player??
  18. Remember that yesterday was a Bank Holiday & if Faddy let's lawyers & agents deal with these things, they may have been closed yesterday. With Internet & 24-hours a day updates on Sky Sports etc its hardly surprising that it appears to be taking ages. Think we need some patience on this one

    Leanne Dempster

That's the second article this week to feature our Chief Exec, the Herald carried it earlier on. It's great to see our club getting so much press coverage in the media, perhaps John Boyle's claim of being the Third Force wasn't so daft after all.
  20. I see rangers, not sure if that's old or new mind, are after Scott Arfield, no direct quotes from either an insider or the player http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/rangers/rangers-told-to-ringfence-scott-arfield-before-top-flight-clubs-get-in-127731n.21370556
  21. Stephen McGinn, ex-Buddie I think, just been released by Watford, attacking midfielder if memory serves, could be worth a wee look. Thoughts???
  22. We need a keeper http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22679633 If his deals paid in full he could play for the buttons that we pay. Not our usual method of buying unknowns but could be worth a punt
  23. Is this the guy that used to play at Kilmarnock? Sure we've been linked to him before
