Roger Hynd!! Now that’s a blast from the past! I can still hear the chorus of “Roger, Roger shut your mouth” from the Rangers fans!!

Stuart Kettlewell Option 1 Offer the job until end of this season then review. If we stay up he gets it on a longer term basis and if we don’t then he returns to his academy job. Option 2 Offer job on permanent basis with either a rolling 12-month contract or a term contract and let him choose his own assistants etc… Option 3 Thank him for what he’s done and let him go back to his academy job. Choose either Holloway or McCann. I accept this may be an over simplification of things and if anyone has other options I’d like to see them. All 3 options carry risk, some more than others but a decision needs to be made soon as it’s unfair on the candidates involved and the players to let it drag on. Personally, I don’t fancy any of the 3 in the frame but we are where we are and if I had to make the choice it would be option 1 because it carries the lowest risk.

It’ll be the battle of the beardies then. 😂😂😂

For me the two players that have made a huge impact and difference to the team are Jonathan Obika up front and Calum Butcher at the back. Obika is a very clever player. He has the strength and ability to hold defenders off, take the ball in, hold it up and bring others into play. He also looks like he will be a really good foil for Van Veen who looked re-energised today. Butcher has brought a calm presence to the defence. His experience, positioning and organising ability together with a bit of steel has spread confidence through those around him. Looks like he and Casey could become a good partnership.

Two wins would be great but I’d happily take 2 draws as it would mean these two don’t make any ground on us.

Well, I must admit I didn’t think they had that in them. Terrific performance from everyone and an absolutely priceless 3 points especially with all the sides around us all losing yesterday. Kudos to Stuart Kettlewell who in 2 games now has not only got his selection and tactics spot on but seems to somehow have galvanised the players confidence. Surely if the choice is really between him, Holloway and Grant he is now favourite. COYW.

I’d not be averse to that mate.

Rhetorical question?

Boom, boom Grizzly. 😂😂

Up until Tommy McLean left in 1994, we had only had 7 managers which equates to about 1 every 12 years. Since then, excluding caretakers, we’ve had 15 which equates to about 1 every 2 years. IMO that screams volumes as to why we are where we are as a club. No continuity! I don’t think we can afford another screw-up. The club must now take time to ensure that whoever they appoint really wants to come to the club and stay with a view to the longer term. That’s why I maintain we should appoint someone until the end of the current season and then re-assess the situation at that time.
-
Aye and during that period, just look at the wahoos we appointed that came under that category: Kampman, Gannon, Baraclough, Alexander. I get chills just thinking about this lot.
-
Absolutely right. It’s very likely that applications would only have started to arrive say by Monday and yet the board are at the interview stage already! They’re now on their 3rd go at getting “the right manager” and I just do not trust them one bit to get it right this time round. Of the 3 supposedly on the shortlist the only one I would have been happy with was Jack Ross. However if he has indeed dropped out then I think we have a problem. The other two have absolutely no knowledge or experience of Scottish football whatsoever and indeed one wonders how the board placed them onto the shortlist in the first place!! Maybe they’re going through the same charade as last time when they appointed Stevie Hammell. If that’s the case then I’d expect an announcement quite shortly that Stuart Kettlewell’s been appointed (until the end of the season?).

Daily Rancid reporting that 3 English Championship clubs showing an interest - Preston, Sheffield Utd and Luton Town. Utter bullshit. Somebody has a decent game and this shit-sheet picks 3 English clubs at random to make a story up. The guy is just 19 and in the foothills of what looks like a highly promising career BUT I just hope he shows better sense and judgment than two of our previous “potential stars” Slane and Hastie.

Ego arcum ad superiorem scientiam.

It’s Latin for onwards an upwards.

Looked as though Kettlewell’s objective was not to lose the game. tonight. It was a really turgid football match but a very welcome win and 3 points. Puram et ferent ad sidera.

BBC can’t make up its mind. On one internet page they’ve got Tommy Wright as the favourite and on another it’s John Hughes or James McPake.
-
I know it’s an old cliche but talk is cheap. IMHO we should be looking at either Malky McKay at Ross County or Ian Murray at Raith Rovers.

FFS GazzyB! Naw, naw and naw. Slattery and Goss should not be allowed near the first team ever again. Would suggest the following in simple for the players to understand 4-4-2 formation: Oxborough Johnston; Casey, Blaney, Furlong McKinstry, Butcher, Tierney, Crankshaw Van Veen, Obika
-
Totally agree. Under no circumstances must we consider any of these. From this lot, the one that would worry me the most is Stuart Kettlewell. After he was sacked from Ross County in December 2020, nobody showed the slightest interest in him apart from the BBC and then right out of the blue he turns up at FP at the end of last year!
-
Spot on.
-
Some of the very best players I’ve seen at FP were from both sides of the OF:- Bobby Watson, Davie Cooper, Bobby Russell, Vic Davidson, Tommy Coyne and Brian McLaughlin. I don’t ever recall any of them shirking it when the faced their old clubs.

Well said Grizzlyg. I’m with you.
