  1. He who pays the piper calls the tune. In other words, TV dictates when and at what time matches are played. This will likely mean the gate for the game will be much reduced from what it might have been. It won’t happen, but the TV company should be told to stump-up more cash to compensate.
  2. You might even say it’s imperative when you see our 6 fixtures after the Ross County game: Hearts (H); Celtic (A); Hibs (A); Rangers (H); Aberdeen (H) Dundee Utd (A). All the “big 6 city clubs”. It’s a tall order to try and get points from that run.
  3. Our away record in the league against Ross County: P16 W7 D3 L6 GF20 GA 23 Very close one to call.
  4. In the 6 games Burton have played this season Moult has played a total of 65 minutes. On that basis he can’t possibly be match fit so it may be some time before we see him playing.
  5. Aye but he does have an ongoing injury issue with his knees.
  6. This mob have lost 26 goals in 7 games and we’re contriving to make their defence look like it’s from Serie A.
  7. Picking the team is the manager’s job.
  8. Proof as if it were needed that if VV doesn’t score then we don’t score and it looks like he’s having an off day. I remember being at Tannadice a couple of years back when the game went exactly the same as this and Utd scored very late with what was their only attempt on goal all day and got all 3 points. Sincerely hope we’re not in for a repeat of that!
  9. Don’t really believe in bringing players back but I hope this works for Louis and the club.
  10. So whose the midfield ball winner then? It certainly isn’t Goss or Slattery!
  11. Despite the brickbats you are correct.
  12. Our league record against Dundee Utd at FP: P91 W38 D17 L36 GF146 GA125 Purely on stats it’s 60% chance a home win or draw and 58% chance an away win or draw. In recent seasons it’s generally been the home team that has prevailed so hoping for a good performance and a home win. COYW!
  13. How childish. You just had to have the last word. We’ll be my guest and crack on.
  14. Hard f*cking cheese! I did not say we didn’t play well but let’s put the win into some kind of perspective. I’ll tell you what is predictably boring is reading posts from the likes of you gushing over us beating a lower league team that have 1 win in their first 5 games, sit 3rd bottom of their league and who Partick Thistle recently humped. This may or may not be the start of a new dawn - I hope it is - but until such time as we start looking like we can do this at home to teams in our league, I’ll reserve any judgement. Oh and if you don’t like my posts tough titty. Don’t read them!
  15. Yes I was at the game so wind yer neck in. My remarks were meant to be constructive and anyway they were factually correct. Maybe the name of this site should be changed to Pravda because it seems if you dare to post anything even vaguely critical on it you just get pilloried? Everybody is entitled to express their views whether you like, agree or disagree with them.
  16. Bloody awful draw! We’ve played Celtic 18 times in LC and only won 3 times. Only ever KOd them once and that was way back in 1950 in 1/4 final over 2 legs. We lost 1-0 at home and won 4-1 away. We went onto win it that year.
  17. Good result absolutely no doubt. My only gripe (again) is that only one of our 4 goals came from open play and if Van Veen doesn’t score we’re shafted.
  18. You’re trying to steal grizzlyg’s thunder.
  19. Wee bit unfair on Shields. Since he arrived he’s been asked to play out wide but he’s really a centre-forward. Maybe we should play two up and try pairing him through the middle with Van Veen.
  20. Why? There’s only 2 competitions we’ve a serious chance of doing well in and maybe make some money along the way, so why start f*cking about with the team selection? Stevie Hammell must identify his best/ strongest 11 and play them.
  21. Spot on. I’m not knocking the guy we’ve signed but compare the player we got to the one Kilmarnock got and be totally honest, which would you rather have? Ours is 24, 5’8” and on loan from a League 1 club (Div. 3 in old money) We’re now the 6th club he’s been to in 6 seasons and this is his 4th loan deal. During those 6 seasons he’s only played 70 games. Theirs is only 18, 6’0” and on loan from a Premiership club with whom he signed a new deal in January and Steven Gerrard rates him a good prospect. He’s just starting out on his football career. The point I’m trying to make is that if we must sign players on loan then ensure their fitness for purpose first. Stop bringing journeymen in heaven knows we’ve got more than enough already. Perhaps we should try to foster relationships with Premiership clubs who would be willing to loan us their up and coming young players.
  22. I know we can’t possibly have tabs on every player that may be available for a loan deal from England, but it’s been obvious for quite some time that we badly need a left-back. From what I saw yesterday, Kilmarnock looked to have picked up a very decent young left-back on loan from Aston Villa in Ben Chrisene from their academy side who has represented England at under-15, under-16 and under-17 level. Wonder what players our scouting genius is watching?
  23. That’s just what we need another journeyman sand dancer.
