  1. Some of the comments being made by some on this forum (and yes they are quite entitled to make them) about the new manager are simply staggering in their knee jerk stupidity. The man has only been in the job for about a month and it was not him that put us in the position we are in but the previous manager aided and abetted by the amateurs that are behind the scenes at FP. He has inherited a squad of players which is about as bad as I can ever recall at FP, where the youth policy has been ignored for too long at the expense of short term signings that have turned to be third rate. which has been continually.Alex Ferguson would struggle to make any impact. So FFS get a grip and give him time because I'm sure he knows a clear out of players is much needed but also that this is impractical and that he somehow has to skiddle with this lot and try to get the 10th spot by the end of season and then start the clear out. Remember what happened to Hibs last season when Butcher announced upon his arrival that many of the players he inherited would not be there for long -players downed tools, club relegated and Butcher bulleted.
  2. Spot on Stu. Let's give the lad time and don't pitch him in too fast.
  3. Of those out there in the first half, IMO the following can be shown the exit door ASAP -Kerr, McManus, O'Brien, Reid and Ainsworth. Why did we ship young Saunders out and then proceed to sign more defenders worse than he was?
  4. Yes I agree with your comments on Lionel Ainsworth. Just does not look interested nor does he look like the type of player that will roll the sleeves up and work to help others. IMO (and who could blame him after the NDP game) the manager set out the team to try and stifle Aberdeen and hope to nick something on the break. But given we are against the meanest defence in the league I think he would have been hoping for a 0-0. The one positive, if there is one, is that they don't tend to score loads of goals - win a lot of games 1-0 - and you are never out of things at 1-0. Although hard to see how we will score.
  5. Is Josh Law playing. Haven't heard his name mentioned once.
  6. As ever, straight from the heart Ya Bezzer. I feel for all the 'Well fans that made the effort on such an atrocious day and paid to watch such a performance. All kudos to them
  7. Be interesting to read the comments of some of the brave souls that ventured over to NDP today.
  8. Spot on Lobey. There's been far too much short-term thinking at FP whilst others have been longer-term planning. Paying the penalty now and going backwards now.
  9. Actually I was. However, personally I regard the aforementioned results as the worst. You may think otherwise.
  10. Just checked the stats. This is our worst defeat to Accies since New Years a Day 1935 when we lost 6-1. Says it all as this lot set new records for the club by plumbing the depths. Losing to Albion Rovers and shipping 9 goals to Hamilton are by far the worst 3 worst results in all my time watching us. Really embarrassed and sad.
  11. Not there but by the sound of it our defence (again) is shambolic McManus out!?
  12. I assume you are joking mate! Barraclough stays, players out.
  13. If anyone had any doubts that this is one of the worst set of players we've had for a long time then this should clear their head. Ian Barraclough has certainly got his work cut out now. And with Aberdeen next up.......
  14. Well they won 4-0 at the Ark earlier this season so omens not good. Still let's the manager see just how bad some of this lot really are.
  15. Decision not to go was the right one by the cut of it. A New Years Day humping by Accies and a soaking versus big comfy chair and a nice glass of malt. No contest. Sorry but done my time at these games.
  16. Our record at Hamilton is none too hot and we haven't beaten them there since 2009. Overall our record reads: P56; W23; D11; L22.Bad memory of getting humped 4-2 there before on New Years Day. Would love to win but would take a draw.
  17. Added to which he couldn't score a slate!
  18. Oops sorry should have been: Played 89; Won 40; Drawn 24; Lost 25.
  19. For the record Partick Thistle have not beaten us at FP since January 1996. Our all time FP record against them reads Played 45, Drawn 24, Lost 25. Given the current form of both teams they will be favourites. They don't score lots of goals but their defence is pretty Scrooge-like. Obviously we want to win but a draw would not be a bad result in this one.
  20. Well you started it! We are not where we are in the league solely because of John Sutton so why specifically single him out or any one player come to that. We win as a team and lose as a team. It's know as collective responsibility. Our defenders are bad as witnessed by our goals against column and the type of goals we have lost. Our midfielders are bad as witness the lack of protection afforded to the aforementioned defenders and their lack of any creativity. Hey but never mind forget all that and let's blame one of the forwards. John Sutton is what he is and will not become more effective until we start creating penalty box chances for him and not playing him as a target man a la 1970s football. Oh and out of curiosity, just who would you replace him with?
  21. This for sieb and his barmy army. Aye a right piss poor player, eh?
  22. I really honestly wish the tossers who go to watch us and those that frequent this website who are never off John Sutton's case would jack it in. For the record, up to this season, his goal scoring record in his first spell with us was 1 goal in 3 and when he re-joined us this went to 1 goal in 2. These are impressive goal scoring stats in any league..John Sutton is one the most honest players at our club and in Scotland. He goes out every week and plays wherever the manager asks him to and in whatever role. I recall when Craig Brown kept playing him out of position on the left wing and he never complained once about it. He is the one true penalty box striker we have and.who, if chances are being created, and as his goal scoring record record shows, he will put the ball in the net regularly..He is playing in one of the worst Motherwell sides in a long time where there are no creative midfielders to create penalty box chances and with defenders that couldn't keep hens out of a midden. And yet he is being singled out for stick??!!.There is no justification for getting on any players case if they are good honest pros putting their all into the team's cause like John Sutton. I seem to recall the same pointless shit being directed at another player in the same category - Mark Hateley who hardly missed a game for us. Aye would we not be better with him back? Rant over.
  23. So whats with the the big delay? Are they scared the Ally McCoist story has stolen their thunder? Or is something more sinister going on e.g. the preferred candidate knocked back the offer of the job!!??
  24. This game and the next one against St Mirren will dictate our season. Both must wins.
  25. Given the latest turn of events I predict the new manager will be Mitchell Van Der Gaag with Kenny Black remaining as his assistant to provide the Scottish football scene / local knowledge. Mind you it's no exactly rocket science!
