  1. Our record in the league at Ibrox is dreadful. Only 9 wins (and 19 draws) in 137 visits. Better ‘Well sides than the current one haven’t been able to win there so it would be no disgrace to lose. As always, hoping otherwise. COYW.
  2. Excluding Rangers, the rest are all winnable because the others are not exactly firing on all cylinders at present.
  3. Well, well, well! What do us mere mortals know!
  4. Manager changing the set-up from Sunday will cost us this game. Devine a right-back moved to left-back to accommodate O’Donnell. Dropped Vale for Nicholson. Spittal forced to play wide on the left. No service to Bair.

That’s it right there in a nutshell.
  7. That’s not what he said. I’m afraid that’s typical of too many posters coming on here and putting their own spin on others’ remarks.
  8. Spiderpig, regrettably you are probably right.
  9. Personally I think this game could define our season - win and I think we’ll be safe but lose and ……. Having to play on that heap of shredded car tyres is no easy ask and we did put a hell of lot into yesterday’s game so I hope we don’t get a reaction to that. I’d really love to win because it would be a big shot in the arm prior to our sojourn to Castle Greyskull.
  10. Thanks santheman. That settles it for me - ban the b*stards. They already do it to each other so it must be okay.
  11. Lennon Miller is just 17 and looks as though he has a very good career in front of him. However, media hacks and pundits suggesting that the OF clubs should think about signing him is disgraceful. The same clowns always bemoan how uncompetitive the league is yet as soon as any decent players appear on the scene at other clubs they start touting them. I just hope him and his dad don’t get carried away only to have his career ruined like many others before him. If he keeps progressing he can set his sights much higher than Ibrox or Parkhead.
  12. Having read the responses concerning the damages to seating in the away stand yesterday I have concluded that the club should advise Celtic FC that in future they will not receive any tickets when they play at Fir Park. I recognise that this will cost the club revenue but I think that’s better than the “just suck it up they’re paying for the damages” argument. I’m sick and tired of seeing the rest of Scottish football kowtow to this lot and their fellow bigots from Ibrox.
  13. On an other topic, Where did all the added time today come from? There were 4 minutes added at the end of the first half and 7 minutes at the end of the 2nd half. That’s 11 extra minutes. I don’t recall any lengthy stops.
  14. Thanks for this santheman. That covers the reparations side of things. Now what about refusing to admit their fans/only admit a token few/put a premium on their tickets? I assume we can refuse them admission as both they and their bigot brothers have been doing that to each other recently.
  15. As far as the damages in the away stand are concerned it’s not the first time they’ve done this and the club should report it to the SPFL and the SFA and ensure Celtic FC are charged for all repair and replacement costs. Then in future the club should: 1) Refuse to admit Celtic fans to Fir Park; or 2) Reduce their allocation to a rump; or/and 3) Add a premium to the price of their tickets.
  16. In 2022 Celtic outplayed Madrid for 45 minutes but expended so much energy that by the hour mark they were knackered. Madrid ran them ragged and won 3-0. I think we suffered the same fate today. A very good 1st half but after an hour we were jagged and they dominated thereafter.
  17. All very well reasoned views and obviously heart-felt. However the ‘club’ appeared to have recognised that its present financial model on its own wasn’t sustainable going forward, hence the appeal for interested parties to invest. I, like the rest of the ‘Well family would’ve been utterly devastated if we had ‘gone under’ a few years back and I still would be if it reared its ugly head again. However I always felt that no matter how well intentioned, fan ownership with a core fan-base of around 4,000 was never sustainable long term. So, I think we all need to think long and hard about what we want for our club and at what level we want it to operate. If our raison d’etre is simply to ensure we continue to exist AND we want to stick with the current financial model to achieve this, then we might have to accept this means playing and staying outwith the premier league. Not an easy decision to make as this would inevitably lead to reductions in income from gate receipts, hospitality, TV and sponsorship thus putting more strain on the WS. Never a dull moment being a ‘Well fan.
  18. I wasn’t really expecting us to win today however I thought we played very well in the first half and managed to nullify them as an attacking force to the extent that they were forced into changing formation and shape for the second half. However I felt we never offered very much ourselves as an attacking force and it looked as though Kettlewell had set his stall out for a draw. They never managed to cut us open from open play and on the rare occasions when we got on the front foot their defence looked very ordinary but we lacked the quality and composure needed to take advantage. Sadly the two goals we lost were yet again quite soft from a defensive point of view. However we are 7 points clear of Ross County and 10 clear of Livingston and if we can beat Livingston at the end of the month then I think we’ll be okay.
  19. With apologies to Grizzly, don’t you mean last of the summer whine.
  20. Our next run of games hardly fills me with enthusiasm in terms of us picking up points. Aberdeen (a) Hearts (a) Celtic (h) Livingston (a) Rangers (a) Aberdeen (h) I think this run of games will determine whether we’ll still be in the top flight come the end of the season.
  21. Like a few others who have posted I’ve been going to Fir Park since the mid to late 1960s. In that time there’s been lots of great highs and heartbreaking lows. However I can’t help feeling that for a few years now the club has fallen into an ever descending downward spiral. Other than our struggling on the playing side (which inevitably fluctuates from year to year) there are other worrying factors at play. We occupy a ground that’s been way past its best for a long time now and despite the large amounts of money shelled out on it in recent years it really isn’t fit for purpose anymore. It seems that the club has lacked and probably still does lack vision to deal with this. I think other than Dens Park our ground is the worst in the top flight. We still haven’t appointed a new CEO or found a new chairman and the club has been allowed to become rudderless for too long. By its the own admission the badly needs an injection of new investment. The recent attempt at trying to attract interested parties was a bit amateurish and seems to have been fruitless - other than a few people joining the Well Society. I always looked forward to the cup competitions but our recent performances in these have been mediocre and for the second year running we’ve been knocked out of the Scottish Cup by a team from a lower league. It may well be an age thing but going to games now has become more of a penance than a pleasure.
  22. A great confidence boosting win with plenty of very good performances - only slightly tempered by the fact that they were utter pish. I think Andy Halliday has made a big difference. With him just in front of the defence he has provided much needed security and given Blair Spittal a platform to play off and show his creativity.
  23. Just been reading through the posts on this topic and you’re all over it like a bad fitting suit. You seem to have a need to pass comment got on everything and I’ve yet to see anything constructive in your posts - which thankfully are brief - just having a pop at other posters whose views don’t conform to yours. You’d do well to remember that this is an open public forum and people are free to hold and express views different to you.
  24. Presently, it seems to be only social media speculation that Spittal has agreed to join St. Mirren and I would not expect the club to comment on this. However it would be reasonable to assume they have ‘confronted’ him to ascertain if it is true and the reason for him wanting to leave; although it’s likely to be either for a bigger wage, a longer term contract or both.
