  1. But don't you think the season also changed when we finally dropped Malcolm and McGarry?
  2. All that nice pleasant end of season weather - bring back the rain and freezing conditions - so i can at least enjoy myself
  3. Again just to post another view that it was indeed cos he was not good enough that he wont be missed by me. Free Kick's great but some of you have a short memory. Remember that it was mcghees insistence on playing this guy that was one of the reasons we were bottom. Here is my summary of Bob Malcolm Motherwell 1 Hibs 4 'Bob Malcolm scored a stunning free kick whilst allowing Hibs to run riot by his brutal lack of pace and non existent tracking of players'
  4. Where would they show us ................... SUMMER FOOTBALL Even the english would watch. Time we thought out of the box to get on the box!
  5. If St Mirren do go down I would take in an instant Craig Dargo. I think that he is one of the best strikers for all round play outwith the old firm. The problem with him is his injury proneness and the fact I dont believe I've ever seen him play in a half decent team, trust me he would do the business for us. We came close to signing before. Does anyone know his contract status?
  6. I see someone writing mehmet third best striker in Scotland, but for me the man that inspired the goal was dargo. How wyness was in front of him god only knows but would take dargo in a heartbeat before mehmet any day.
  7. Again as I said in one of my previous posts, Motherwell fans are currently spoiled. I love Motherwell but in the last two years I have totally lost the love and enjoyment of my fellow fans around me at HOME matches. This year I went to Nancy and found it a wonderful experience. It was great to talk to fans from all over the world. Since I came back, I have met one or two of the people I met at away games, (I normally go on my own to away games) and they have been really accomodating to me. At the hibs away game Keef, who is a cracking guy, sat me down beside him and yir elder. I thought the banter that day beside those guys was terrific and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Similar was the atmosphere at dundee united was, again was away. Let me then take Fir Park, I sit in two different areas in the East Stand. I sit towards the away end first half and the davie cooper the second half. So I see a pretty broad spectrum of the ground. There are guys who have NOTHING positive to say in the whole ninety minutes. I am not criticising those who speak against the grain but be a little objective please. These guys also to me seem the loudest and most confrontational. The number of times I have seen fans shouting at each other in the east stand is growing. There is a really poor vibe amongst the fans. The term 'happy clappers' has been created for fans who provide support to the team. This term to me insinuates a lack of intelligence by these fans who have been put in this banner. I must admit I think next year I will try and find a plot of the main stand with none of these total negative idiots beside me. I am totally embarrased by the Marc Fitzpatrick affair v St Mirren. It was cringeworthy. The booing v Falkirk 1-1 at the end of a game we dominated is out of order, we aint going to win every game, face facts the team tried verfy hard to win that day to be met with some initial boos at full time? McGhees comments are spot on, get behind the team at the ground and take your bitching out on these boards. Because as I have said before we are spoiled, we wont be so fortunate in the mid-long term, because someone akin to Malpas once McGhee is gone will remind all Motherwell fans to enjoy the better times.

    Mark McGhee

My first new post on the new boards woo hoo! So thats the excitement over. The problem as I see it, is McGhee not the players. The problem that he has is a style of tactic and a liking for players that for whatever reason dont bring anything to the team. Now I am astonished that supportes come back from last night criticising the likes of Hammell and Hughes. Let's not kid ourselves these guys are good quality SPL players. One of my biggest gripes is playing every 90 mins with only 9 players. I have been watching Bob Malcolm and Steve McGarry play each week now being rank rotten and continuing to play. You might ask why they are singled out and people like Hammell are forgiven. The fact is Hammell can have his off days but can still give something to the team. I am not even sure what position these guys are meant to be playing. The idea of Malcolm is great,a big bruiser to protect the defence. But the fact is he gives no protection and we are giving away more goals than ever. He cant win a ball, hes too slow, he cant tackle. He is absolutely woeful. So thats us down to ten. McGarry, again whats he meant to be, cant score, cant cross, cant pass. So thats us down to 9. The reason Hughes and others look crap is because we are 2 men down before a kick of the ball. But I dont blame Malcolm and McGarry because it is McGhee who stays loyal to these players. Now you may not like Fitzpatrick, D Smith, J O Brien but they are wholehearted. The SPL doesnt need quality all round. It needs a couple of quality players mixed with wholehearted individuals. Now to tactics. Lats nights team selection was a disgrace. We have no imagination. The midfield I would ideally play last night would be MURPHY - LASLEY - HUGHES - JOBRIEN If you are playing Porter and Sutton you have to get balls in the box. Simple as. The objective with Lasley and Hughes, or perhaps Fitzpatrick would be to protect the defence and get the ball out wide. It aint glamour, its just whats needed. Now to me this is the most obvious thing in the world. For our best chance Porter had to go out wide and collect the ball. McGhee doesnt have any ideas other than playing a formation which we cant score, nor defend properly. I hope he realises the 2 points above. And quick.
