I've bought one knowing fine well I might not see a ball kicked this year. I also know, depending on reconstruction and the possibility of closed door games there's a chance I won't get my moneys worth. I'm fine with that because it's not about getting to the next game, it's about adding to the financial security and making a wee statement that I want the club to survive. The majority of folk buying will have similar motivations. I totally get why some, like yourself, want to wait. I think club have done the right thing by giving us that option.

Bit on the main site saying "We will announce shortly how to apply for finance. Details will be available at motherwellfc.co.uk" I paid this way a few years ago and you've got to go through a separate application process to a finance company who then need do credit checks etc so it takes a few days.

They went into a bit of detail on this on Sportsound earlier. As Santheman has said, it is open to players however only if the club do not have any work for you to do (and would otherwise be making you redundant). This includes generating revenue or marketing. So players who are still doing promotional bits for the club or community stuff (phoning round elderly fans) wouldn't be eligible for Furlogh. I've not really thought about our club doing it, however I do find it repulsive that businesses who operate in the hundreds of millions (not just football clubs) are applying to the Government for it. It's not free money - it'll just be lumped into the national debt which we'll all be paying back in higher taxes for years.

I get your point about the 90 year thing, but the very fact you've referred to the clubs only ever top flight win as 'long forgotten' suggests we definitely need to do more to celebrate it.

Doing a wee project thing the now on Fir Park so looking for some information and pictures : Any pictures of the glass doored entrance to the Phil O'Donnell stand? When was that added and when was the big badge and 'welcome to Fir Park' added to the windows at the stairwell? When was the "keep cigarettes away from the match" sign first put up?

Absolutely. Any normal year a season ticket is always a fairly big outlay for the majority (and a huge outlay for some). It would be wonderful if sales were up as people rallied round the club, but a lot of peoples finances are precarious just now. For every person who is in a position to buy a season ticket there will could be another who would love to, but simply can't.

To be fair to steelboy (just spewed in my own mouth), that's more or less what has been peddled on the news the last couple of days, including straight out the mouths of expert guests on BBC news, LBC, radio 4, sky news.

I wonder if finances are a consideration. Closed door games equal zero gate income. To postpone the game to some point in the future, there's a chance it can be played in front of a crowd so the financial hit won't be as significant.

That's absolutely amazing news. The club deserves huge credit for this, as does Turnbull for showing that loyalty. With just 6 games to go this season to 'prove' himself this, we'd have been heading into the summer in a precarious position - do we take the first half decent offer comes in or do we head into the January window with just 6 months left on his contract. That signature could potentially be worth a few million.

Absolute bollocks. Robinson's signing record is as good as any in the last 15 years at Motherwell. McCall probably signed higher quality, but he had a much larger budget to play with and still signed his fair share of dross, as any manager will do.
